 The sun was high in the sky and the summer heat was sweltering hot. Had been for a couple of days now much to her dismay. Then again...she couldn't complain. It kept her hidden away in the shade and kept her unnoticed to those roaming about...the males roaming about. The beads of sweat that collected on her forehead slid down the bridge of her nose and dripped off when she leaned forward to brush a twig off of her leg.
As she sat back, she wiped her forehead with the back of her hand and sighed. "Man...can't wait till winter."

The heat and his dark coat did not mingle well together, with a flick of his tail, he was heading towards the shaded pond, a good swim would help ease the heat from his being.
Benoni's lavender eyes darted back and forth as he waded into the cool waters, a hiss of breath passed between his lips, followed closely by a soft groan. "Damn cold.."

That hiss is what caused her eyes to dart over to the pond. How had she not notice the presence of the male until he spoke? She must have zoned out, but even at that her companion Skyler should have at least said something to her. When she looked to question her brightly colored friend she found that he was gone. Kutsuu groaned rather miffed. The little bugger probably run off to chase a butterfly or get into some mischief.
With a roll of her eyes, she brought her attention back to the male before her. Well he'd not noticed her and the idea of wading into the water was a good one. Slowly and silently she stood and made her way into the water. The chill of it had been more than she anticipated. "s**t!"

The sound of another voice caught him off-gaurd, he hadnt seen anyone around so he had been thinking he was alone, his head snapped towards the sound of the voice.
His gaze fell onto the mare, he arched a brow before giving a light chuckle. "Didn't expect that either eh?" he offered, he wasnt generally interested in being around females, but he couldnt help it from time to time, the company could prove to be nice.

As it were, it was pretty obvious she had no skill in talking to others yet one had to give her credit for not being out right rude or jumping down his throat for even speaking to her. A sigh left her as she looked the stallion over. He wasn't bad on the eyes to be honest and he seemed like he was an ok kind of guy but looks could also be deceiving. So long as he kept his distance, she'd be nice.
"I don't know which is worse. The heat, or this damned water.....so who are you? Can't say I've ever seen you before."

He wasnt sure if she was being rude, or calling him out on a stupid ice-breaker, either way it really didnt matter much really. He eyed the mare as he had seen her do to him, he couldnt help but stand a bit taller, even though he was much bigger than most stallions.
"Names Benoni and thats most likely cause I tend to stay away from others for the most part, unless theyre my sister. You?"

She took notice to Benoni standing taller as she examined him and when she found him looking her over much like she was him she turned away. Her cheeks were warmer than usual and she knew it was for the fact that she was blushing, which shocked her. No male had ever been able to make her blush before so why was it happening now?
"Kutsuu....and it would seem we have something in common....us staying away from others that is."
What the hell was that? Why was she so damned uncertain of herself. 'Us staying away from others that is'. No s**t, clearly she did the same if he'd not seen her either. It was obvious. In attempts to distract herself from feeling so awkward, she cupped her hands to scoop up some water but she caught sight of something she hated more than men. Her reflection and she could only stare at her scar while gently tracing it with her right index finger.
Her anger was beginning to rise and so she tore her gaze from her reflection to focus on Benoni once more.
"So are you from these lands or have you come from somewhere further away?"
