Hiro yells "Hey bird!!!" as he holds up the fake pendent to the light causing it to shine like a thousand stars. The bird sees it and turns back around towards him dropping the pendent already in its beak.

Haruko walked up to the edge of the forest and turned to make sure Hibiki was still behind her before walking further into the forest. Spotting Hibiki a few steps behind, Haruko smiled and continued to wonder deeper into the forest. Stopping somewhere in the middle between the dirt path leading back to the forest and the clearing to moon lake. Haruko began stretching in preparation for the fight ahead.

Hibiki kept a few paces away from Haruko, eyeing his surrounding closely. Hibiki stopped with Haruko, who began stretching. Hibiki began to mentally prepare himself, going over the weapons, seeds and other tools he had on his person. Hibiki nodded slightly, ready for action.

As she strectched, Haruko kept an eye on Hibiki and when she saw him nod, indicating that he was ready, Haruko nodded in reply and shifted into a defensive position. "Alright Hibiki-kun, the first move's yours" Bending her knees a bit more, Haruko kept her right hand above her kusarigama ready to either dodge quickly or counter attack. 'So what will it be? Range, close-combat, or distraction?'

Having dazed off a bit as Haruko had been speaking to him, and as she and Hibiki left, Kenji woke up out of his daydreaming to realize he was alone in the room. Panicking for a second, Kenji realized that the words Ukude forest had rang louder in his ears then the rest of the softened words in the area around him, and he figured that they were probably on their way there.

Leaving the classroom calmly, Kenji made his way through the village, out the back gates and walked along the path before coming to the very edge of the forest. At the forest's edge he suddenly stopped, placing his hand in front of him in what looked like a seal and concentrated. After a few seconds, his hand opened up and his palm faced forward, and he stood with his back straightened out for a minute or so with eyes closed, seemingly doing nothing. "Thank You" Kenji muttered under his breathe as he finally walked in.

Taking a few steps into the forest, Kenji immediately looked for the largest tree he could find by the path and moved very close to it, trailing his right hand along the bark of the tree before he pressed the side of his face up against it and began muttering incoherent words that only his people would understand. As he did this, his left hand came to the tree as well while his right continued to trace the bark. Another few minutes passed before Kenji's eyes suddenly opened wide as he gave a smile to the tree and patted it's bark. "Thank You Again"

Kenji immediately dashed off through the forest's underbrush, moving swiftly and confidently through the terrain that most had to slow themselves down within. With a well placed jump, Kenji leapt directly into a tree's trunk, only to catch his foot on it and bounce off of it to the high limb of another nearby tree as he continued the rest of his journey through the tangled tree branches of forest until he arrived silently above Haruko and Hibiki... precisely where the old tree had told him they were.
"Well, it would just be unfair for me to fight here with such an advantage... I suppose it is best that Haruko be the one to do the battling this lesson." with that thought, Kenji jumped to where he would have a good view of the sight, not particularly trying to hide himself, but as was due to his nature, gave no indication of his presence within the forest, even with his movements.

Hibiki immediately began mentally compliling a list of possible attack strategies before stopping himself. 'I'm not to certain on how she fights. The best course of action woul be to test her out.' Hibiki closed his eyes for a brief moment. He focused in on his surroundings, allowing his mind to drift into fnd gentle and consistent streams of life chakra that ran through every tree in the forest.

Hibiki's eyes snapped open as he made a few hand seals, taking command of a tree just behind Haruko. He forced the root of it to quickly grow out in order to entangle Haruko's leg. Not allowing himself to lose concentration, Hibiki grabbed out a kunai and threw it at his teacher's face.

Haruko smiled as she saw Hibiki plan some sort of distance attack, 'Evaluating the opponant, not bad. Now where is he going to attack?' Haruko watched as Hibiki's eyes snapped open and he formed a few quick hand seals. Glancing around the area, Haruko noticed nothing happened to the surround area but the sound of rumbling from beneath the ground was more then enough of a warning of what was to come.

Jumping back, Haruko noticed the incoming kunai and quickly reached into one of her pouches to take out a kunai. She aimed it at the one Hibiki's and the two clashed together, stopping each other in its track before dropping to the ground. Glancing at the spot where she stood only moments before, Haruko noticed a spiralled tree root. 'That spot, it should have been where my right leg was. This is going to be interesting.' "Impressive move Hibiki, if it wasn't for my trained sense of hearing, I most likely wouldn't have heard that attack coming. So what are you going to throw at me next?" Haruko stood back and waited for Hibiki's next move.

'Trained sense of hearing,' Hibiki thought. 'That'll be hard to beat.' Hibiki focused his chakra into his legs before flickering away at an unseeable speed, leaving behind nothing but a flurry of cherry blossom petals. He gently landed on a tree branch several feet behind Haruko, cushioning his feet with chakra so as not to make too much noise.

Taking a deep breath, Hibiki bit his thumbs, drawing blood. He sucked in the blood before spitting it out on a tree ten feet ahead of him. he made several hand seals. A puff of smoke erupted from the tree and a large white wolf emerged from it. Smelling Haruko, it quickly dashed towards her, its teeth bared and ready for action.

Haruko watched with interest as Hibiki flicked away at an unseeable speed right before her eyes. 'Impressive, almost reminds me of Renshi-kun's flash jump. Now, where is he hiding?' Haruko began scanning the area for tracing or sounds that would indicate his location when suddenly she heard the sound of something being summoned from behind her. Spinning her head quickly to see what it was that Hibiki summoned, she noticed a white wolf dashing towards her with its teeth bared.

Applying chakra to her feet, Haruko quickly dashed towards the other direction making it look like she was attempting to outrun the wolf when in reality she was stallin. As she ran, Haruko quickly reached up for her pendent and added chakra to it, suddenly a smoke cloud appeared beside Haruko. Not bothering to wait for the smoke cloud to clear, Haruko jumped onto the back of whatever it was that she summoned, "Up Rei," Haruko commanded and suddenly a large orange swallow emeraged from the smoke cloud flying towards the tree tops. Haruko looked down and saw the white wolf staring up at her sneering. 'Well, that was a close one. Who knew he could summon out a wolf, not bad.' Haruko summoned out her koto and waited for Hibiki's next move. 'So, will you reveal your location to me in order to attack?'

Hibiki watched as Haruko summoned a large swallow. He closed his his eyes and sighed, attempting to alleviate his quickly beating heart. "Hmmph, aerial capabilities. I'll have no choice but to get her down," he muttered. He began a long series of hand seals, landing on the dog sign. His chakra spiked, making contact with Haruko's. He took a long breath, before faintly whispering, "Blossoming Illusion Technique: Empire of the Wolf God."

The illusion took effect. An enormous white wolf, twenty times larger than normal, came billowing through the woods. It sniffed around under Haruko before making a swift dash to the left. That's when Kenji appeared. He seemed to have been lost, finding his way into the forest quite by accident. He looked up at Haruko and was about to speak before the white wolf charged at him. Its teeth dug into Kenji's arm, and he was flung from side to side. An agonized screeching sound exploded from within Kenji's strained lungs as his arm was ripped from his shoulder. The wolf swallowed the arm whole before making another move for Kenji. The man ran, gasping for Haruko's help as the wolf's bloody teeth gleamed for his flesh.

Walking down the path, the sounds of the village began to fade behind him as they were gradually replaced by the sounds of nature. The water from the river could be heard rolling to Kenji's left along with the various chirps and scutters of insects and small animals in the fields and brush surrounding him. His journey to the edge of the forest was peaceful, the nights air growing only slightly colder, but still comfortable, though as he approached the forest itself, the noise of the surrounding area began to fade away and held a strange void within it.

"Very strange...", not entering the forest path as quickly as most would, Kenji brought his hands out of his pockets as he closed his eyes and breathed deeply, holding out his hands to the forest palms forward as if he were trying to calm it, or assure it that he was not a foe. After a few minutes of this, Kenji's eyes opened up with a smile as he approached the forest's edge, finding a nearby tree as he pressed his ear and right side up against the tree as he began to draw his hands over the bark, murmuring incoherently as he did so. This continued for almost 20 minutes as the forest's edge grew darker and the night began to settle, but as he opened his eyes, the moon had started to glow in the night's sky which lit up the paths of the forest with soft light.

"Thank you my friend. You have been of great aid to me." Cobra gave the tree's trunk a few pats with his hand before pushing off of it, entering the forest peacefully as he moved his hand to sit on the hilt of his kodachi which hung behind him, ready for anything that might come as he had been warned by the forest that the wolves were roaming hungry.

Proceeding further into the forest, Kenji made his way through the open paths as he was directed to do by the forest itself as he began to feel some of the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. stopping in his tracks, Kenji closed his eyes as it was a feeling that he had felt one too many times and a sad occasion. Creatures of the forest were strange... brutally aware of their surroundings, yet devoid of any concept of motivation or intent from even those that served to protect it.

Opening his eyes, Kenji rested his hand on his blade, not having to wait long before a wolf leapt from the sides of the forest directly towards him, it's claws and fangs bared viciously against him as it flew through the air. Having been well prepared for the attack, Kenji quickly ducked, rolling under the attack as he reached into his pouch, launching a kunai at the beast's underbelly as it flew over him. The wolf let out a whimpering sound as the kunai struck him solidly, causing him to fall with a thud onto the forest floor as Kenji continued his roll, ending on one knee as he watched the rest of the pack arrive.

The packed quickly swarmed around him, making a perimeter between the 5 of them as they gnashed their teeth ferociously. Kenji got up slowly, knowing that there was really no choice in the matter and performed a few hand seals, water gushing off of his arms as the wolves took faltered back from the sudden appearance... but soon, seeing that it was only water, continued to circle him with the intent to kill. with a quick growl, a wolf from behind Kenji jumped towards him, but Kenji was quick to turn around, spinning his body around as he brought his leg up to the wolf's side, landing a hit which sent the wolf flying into a nearby tree, a whimpered cry dulled only by the crashing of his body against the tree and then the floor.

the other wolves followed the attack, one of them taking advantage of Kenji's weak position as it swiped its claw across his arm leaving 3 parallel marks of red blood across his arm before Kenji was able to whip around and slice his kodachi into the wolf's head, silencing him instantly as he wiped the blade of the beast's blood and returned the blade to it's sheath. the the remaining wolves circling once more, Kenji's arm sent out an ache of pain as he felt the scratch wound he had received begin to affect him. Fighting through the pain, Kenji performed another set of hand seals, finishing the form of the jutsu with the requisite incantation shortly after... "
Fuuma Mizu Shuriken"

Stretching out his right hand, the water which was streaming around him traveled down his arm as it moved to his hand, forming itself into a large fuuma shuriken, which immediately began to spin feverishly in his grasp. the wolves, finally ready to end the fight and win their meal and battle for terriotry leaped towards kenji, but with a quick swing of his arm, the spinning blades of water sliced directly through the first attacker, severing it in half as he dodged the attacks of the other two by rolling to the side. Nearly moving on instinct, Kenji then let the fuuma shirken fly as he launched it through the air at the wolves... the poor creatures barely understanding what was going on before the spinning blades had perfectly arced towards them. In a single flight, the mizu fuuma shuriken sliced through both of the wolves effortlessly as it rounded it's flight pattern and boomeranged directly back into Kenji's hand as he caught the center of the shuriken effortlessly, standing up as the blades continued to spin with deadly power within his grip.

Surveying the area, Kenji saw that the threat was dealt with as the blades slowed, eventually ceasing to spin as the shuriken collapsed into a puddle of water which fell to the ground. with a deep sigh of relief, but also sadness, Kenji made his way back down the forest path towards Moon lake, removing some cloth from a pouch as he wrapped his wound on the move... if only to, at the very least, stop the bleeding.
