Bandi; faithful companion to the kind Almos

Name: Bandi
Gender: Male
Element: Earth
Species: Insectoid (Centipede)
Personality: --
Appearance: Almos first found him on the ground in a busy marketplace. At first glance, it was just a bunch of coins strung together by a piece of string. Normally he wouldn't be one to take things, but he felt as if something was telling him to take it. Just as soon as he picked it up, a centipede popped out of the artifact. You could imagine the poor old dwarf was surprised.

A short, stocky dwarf was walked aimlessly through the marketplace. He had been walking since dawn. He didn't know where he was walking to, and wasn't really concerned about it, he would just let his feet lead him to wherever he was supposed to go. Brows knit together, forefinger and thumb tugging at the end of his beard mindlessly, he backtracked to a bizarre dream from the night before...

A flash of bright light...

A figure emerges...

Then darkness.

Normally, it wasn't too different from any other dreams, but it had shaken him, waking up in a cold sweat. He was breathing heavily, as if he had been running.

Since then, he had been walking. He had wandered into town, then into the marketplace, ignoring the shouts of greeting from his comrades. What had this dream meant? Was it even significant? Or was he just worrying about something trifle? Well, it couldn't be trifle if he kept thinking about it, but there were times when he did worry about insignificant events.

A small tinkle of metal on cobblestone interrupted his thoughts. Letting out a small 'oh!' he watched the ring that held his beard together roll into the alleyway. He walked after it calmly, expecting it to be by the entrance.

He looked around on the ground, wondering just where it had gone. It was a bright yellow so it would've been easy to distinguish it from all the greys and browns that was surrounding him. Out of the corner of his eye though, Almos spotted something glinting underneath a box. "There you are..." he muttered, kneeling down to slide his hand under. Feeling around for the band, his fingers brushed against something else. It felt like a piece of string...only much thicker. Wondering what it was, his fingers followed the string, until he felt something cold and round. Just as soon as his fingers touched the object, he felt a bright light sear his eyes.

Almos fell back in surprise, closing his eyes instinctively. What was happening?! He opened his eyes again, blinking the stars away. The light faded as quickly as it came. The box was knocked over, and in its place stood a gigantic insect. A centipede to be exact.

Almos blinked a few times, rubbing his eyes wondering if the light had damaged his vision somehow. The insect was still there, staring right at the dwarf. It made a series of clicking noises, scuttling closer to Almos, and dropped something into his hands. It was his tiny golden band. Ignoring the band, he continued to stare at the centipede. "Why..." he started, more in wonder than in fear.

The creature scuttled even closer to Almos, almost on top of him now. It hovered over him, tilting its head slightly and clicking a few more times, before moving around the dwarf as if inspecting him.

What did this creature want with him? His mind whirled with questions. Perhaps it was hungry and was going to eat him. Or...he thought. There was a more plausible explanation. Perhaps it was his Kulgenki? His own Kulgenki. He had heard stories of his comrades' experiences with such creatures. It would appear when that person happened to find a certain item. It could be anything he recollected. Almos cleared his throat, addressing the centipede, "Are you...perhaps...my Kulgenki...?" he asked, his voice slightly hoarse.

Stopping in front of Almos' face, the centipede lowered itself, eye-level with the dwarf. It clicked once, and made a nodding motion, as if saying, "Yes, I am."

The dwarf tugged at his beard, "...Interesting..."

Interesting indeed.
