Alright! So I finally got motivated enough to do a bit more. I'm sort of linking two contests. The short story and the tektek. I didn't exactly follow the rules with them... In fact I had the inspiration spontaneously at school today and I made the tektek and the short story before even going over the rules.
sweatdrop I used Jarlaxle as the tektek, which isn't a companion of the hall... I also didn't use the three words you wanted us to in the story.
But in the end, even if I don't win anything I enjoyed putting this together. I think its funny. The idea sort of came from a cartoon I watched as a kid sometimes called Recess. I'm doing the story first, then the tektek.
“I’m not sure Jimmy, but I’ll come up with something. We’re finally 6th graders. It’s our turn to run this school, and I’m not letting some new kid mess things up.” Replied Steve.
“I agree dude, but this kid is crazy! He’s got all the 5th graders and even most of the 4th working together.”
“So we beat a few up. Those little 4th graders will stay out of things real quick once they see what happens.”
“Billy and Keith tried that yesterday. I hear they got clobbered man. The runts ganged up on them or something. Billy and Keith didn’t even come in to school today!”
“Well that still works. The principal calling all their parents for fighting and beating up other kids should scare them off just as well.”
“Thing is they never got caught.”
“What!? How is that even possible? I’ve been caught every single time and I’m only one guy! How does a bunch of little runts gang up on some guys and get away with it?”
At that moment the bell for class rang. Recess was over. Jim and Steve shuffled back towards class, being sure to give intimidating glances at anyone younger than them. But unsettlingly no one seemed bothered by it. Steve could have sworn he caught some 3rd graders giggling at them before they hurried in to their classroom. “I don’t like it man. This just isn’t right. The 6th graders are supposed to run the show.”
As the two friends rounded the corner to their classroom they caught a group of students scattering in every direction like they were on a mission. All accept one. The kid turned around and started walking back down the hall towards the 5th grade rooms. He looked completely aloof, as if he had no idea what was going on around him. But his stride showed nothing but confidence. The black boots that were so odd on a kid his age clacked on the tile and he had his hands casually stuffed in the pockets of his black dress pants. He was a rich kid. He was smart. He was Jarl. The 5th grade transfer student. As he passed Steve and Keith he gave a sly grin and a wink, and kept on walking. “Hope you boy’s brought some lunch money today” he said nonchalantly.

They were all staring at him. Well of course they were. He stood out a bit in his rich clothing, gold bracelets, and stark white hair. “Good day everyone! My name is Jarlaxle, but you can just call me Jarl if that’s easier for you. I hope we can be of mutual benefit to each other this school year. I look forward to a wonderful time with you all.” He finished with a wide grin. The class probably didn’t even know some of the words he had used, but establishing superiority right from the get go was important. Being unique wasn’t a good thing in grade school, but it wouldn’t set him back. He knew how to make friends. And more importantly, he knew how to make the right friends. He had big plans for this year. Big plans.I chose Jarlaxle because he was perfect for the story I've concocted. I portrayed him as a rich kid because Jarlaxle has always been rich. There is a bunch of people cheering behind him because Jarlaxle is the type that would have most of the student body trying to get on his good side, and the man with him is the principal. Because he would have the principal wrapped around his finger. He is entering 5th grade. I chose it because I wanted him in a position of power, but not the HIGHEST power. Jarlaxle has always been sort of the underdog in a way. Keeping wraps over people that should be above him in power and status. OH! And I kept his hair because I don't think he would have shaved his head yet at that age... But he's still a rebel and keeps it cut short for a drow.
