READ THIS FORUM. I do not jest. Well, maybe a little. Frankly, I skip over these too, a lot. That said, any violation of these will be punished as I see fit. And see? You were warned. If you'd read this, you'd have known. Neener neener.
Seriously, this is going to seem a bit strong armed. However, it's all stuff that needs to be said, and in that it needs to be put as bluntly as possible.
Obey the TOS. Obey the TOS! Obey the TOS!! There should never be any question about this.
Rules of Kaiba (as termed by the magnificent Selfai Rayonette We'll use these for now, until how the guild is going to be layed out is finalized. Either way, they're good manners.
If you don't fill out the form, YOU DON'T GET ANY.
Respect and CHECK the Slots. Only three slots an artist and there's no waiting list for people who don't abide that. If the artist has full slots and you apply for them you will NOT be added later. Some artists have fewer slots and they can't be bombarded.
SPECIFY THE ARTIST DO NOT say 'anybody who wants to'. Pick an artist. ("Anyone who wants to" just seems rude. We realize you want free art, but you can at least pretend you care about the work we put into it.)
STICK AROUND Your artists will have questions for you! (Often at great length) We won't PM your arts to you. Unless we really want to.
IT'S FREE ART. I will not give you room to complain when you aren't even paying or giving tips. You think otherwise? I will not condone it in the thread, contact the artist outside if you want to tip them. Otherwise known as do it on your own time. (I will personally bum bump anyone that does this. We aren't artistic masters, and if you don't like that, you can go PAY those that are. On a related note, I wish to discourage any complaining about how long work is taking. Some of us have real lives.)
Artistic License! Given the free nature of the art involved, I personally retain the right to employ artistic license. Given the rather generic and fairly undetailed nature of avi's, my mind often wanders and adds things. Similarly, given that some people will add ANYTHING they get a hold of to their avi's, regardless of appearance, I may be inclined to simplify and tone things down in the name of aesthetics. All other artists are allowed the same right.
SIMILARLY, I retain the right to use whatever medium I wish. I can't keep giving everyone free full body CG's, it takes forever. And I like pencils. Basically, when you ask for free art, you get what we give you. Take it or leave it.
A final Note... and it sucks. Sometimes a muse just doesn't respond to an avi, or an artist might not feel up to a particular request. Perhaps it's not fair, but we're under no means obligated to take every request made of us. It's free, thems the breaks.
