TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers say safety Tanard Jackson has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
The third-year pro's suspension begins Sept. 5 and will continue through the Bucs' Oct. 4 game against the Washington Redskins. Jackson will be eligible to return for an Oct. 11 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jackson was a fourth-round draft pick out of Syracuse in 2007. He has started every game for Tampa Bay over the past two seasons.
Citing confidentiality rules, Bucs general manager Mark Dominik declined to discuss specifics about the suspension.
Well ********. Now Tampa is in a pickle. Tampa has 3 good safties, now one is suspended, and the other is playing LB. Only options are moving Sabby to FS, Phillips back to SS, then have Black or Hayes play LB, or re-sign Derrick Brooks (since the saints havnt inked him yet).
Im not too worried, its only 4 games, and one player dsnt make a team. Dexter Jackson is also a free agent, yes hes older but hey one more year in tampa would be cool. Haha John Lynch could pull a Favre. lol.

I made a thread for this type of stuff. It is called the trouble maker thread. That is where this whole thread should be so as not to clutter up the forum. But that does suck for him. I am just glad that the NFL is still being really strict for the substance abuse that is going on.

Its an incident that happened, he said its from a few years ago, not recent, but something has lingered. And the forum has been kinda dead recently....to me at least

Espically for lineman like myself haha I played O-Line, some DE, some RB. I loved them because when I was out there it just felt right to me. I was one of the only guys who did not care what temp was or what the weather was. I just cared more about the sport and to be the best I could be. Besides when you are out there sweating and you are just as tired as the other guy and you plant him on his rear end, you get to have the bragging rights. Especially if you get two guys down at once.
