My wand is Willow (I was told Willow helps headaches- thank you) with Veela hair (Veela's are "Part human, part magical creatures and are like Sirens in Greek Mythology" Fleur Delacour is part Veela.), and a small emerald (Not just for house loyalty, but hundreds of years ago emeralds were thought to give the wearer the ability to see the future, needless to say, Divination has always been my favorite subject. In addition to the emerald's abilities, it can also cure the bites of poisonous creatures and help memory.) on the handle end, 10 inches long. So what is yours?
((Thank you Gemological Institute of America for info on emeralds, Harry Potter Wiki for info on Veelas, and AccioFunds on info about Willow.))

Rosewood, fairy sparkle dust core, 11 inches, gentle and easy but strong. Good for Charms. I thought my wood would be Rowan, but every wand and wand maker I tried, no wand felt right. Until I was at the Nimbus 2003, the first HP for Grownups symposium at Orlando, Florida, just after Order of the Phoenix was printed, I met Alivan who was just opening up his now renowed store. He had lovely wands, but the only wand that came alive in my hand was one he just finished crafting, and he didn't want to sell it as it was to be his template for a whole new line of wands It had lovely, distinctive markings, and long story short, he agreed to sell me that specific wand, not a copy, after he had a chance to make a template from it. So it was ready for me, in a lovely wandmaker's sealed box, with the instructions to say 'Alohomora' to open it. Alivan's virtual wand shopListing of Alivan's wands (mine is in the Majestic Collection) Alivan's has contests regularly, where you can win a wand. He's truly wonderful to do business with!

Fir, sphynx hair, 11 inches would be my wand.
Wand-legnth is based on height, and I'm above average height for a woman (67.5 inches), which is why my wand is eleven inches. 3nodding
I love riddles, word games, and analysing things, so sphynx hair would be my magical core. exclaim ninja Sphynx isn't listed as a typical Potterverse wand core at The Lexicon, but because it's in Fantastic Beasts, which JKR wrote herself, I presume it's acceptable to use.
Fir tree symbolism includes honesty, progress and friendship. I'm an truthful and friendly person that likes to improve herself. whee The Druids recognized the fir to be a portent of weather conditions; they noticed that the cones would open to the rays of the sun, and close against impending rain. It's an awesome tree, and I'm awesome too! wink lol In addition, the fir is an evergreen plant, and I'm a person that doesn't waver in her beliefs...so much so that I'm actually quite subborn.
In case you're interested, I looked up information about trees’ symbolisms at these websites: http://www.livingartsoriginals.com/infoforests.htm http://www.whats-your-sign.com/tree-symbolism.html

Mine would be: 9 inches, Ivy, with a core of Billywig stingers. The length is because I like odd numbers and though I'm not tall I am skinny which gives me the illusion of being tall. The wood is based on the same technique Jo used for Harry Ron and Hermione's wands, it is the tree that represents my birth month on the Celtic calendar. The core is because a Billywig's sting causes giddiness and levitation, and I have a bubbly personality that always gets my friends out of bad moods. I am a human Billywig. This is based on the idea that though there are general wand cores, any magical creature can be used.

My wand is also 9 and a half inches. It's very good for dueling and charms. My wand core is from the tail of a centaur because I am brave and sometimes aggresive.

My wand is 10 and a half inches with a veela hair core. According to a quiz smile It's usually close to that anyway, though. It's apparently good for charms and creative people? Some s**t like that.
