Rules:
~ No posting in a test thread unless it's your test.
~ Limited to 4 posts. You can use less.
~ You have 2 weeks to finish your rp.
~ Must use the battle field type assigned to you.
~ You create a monster of your choice, unless a different rule is specified for that test.
~ Have fun!

1~Ice- Pretty simple with this one. The floor becomes solid ice. There are random chunks of ice protruding from the floor. And of course, you have little to no traction.

2~Desert- Pretty much nothing but massive sand dunes. You sink down into the sand, which slows you down a LOT. If the wind blows, the sand gets kicked up, which obscures vision.

3~Open Field- A plain grassy field with nothing on it.

4~Ocean- A mini ocean about 40 feet deep. There are five floating platforms for battlers to stand on. The plat forms bob around and it's really hard to keep your balance on them.

5~Dense Forest- The arena is packed from wall to wall with dense, tropical trees. As in any tropical jungle, there are lots of vines and other such things to get tangled up in.

6~Land of Fire- Parts of the arena floor sink away, leaving behind pits of lava. Also, pillars of fire erupt from the floor periodically.

7~Concrete- A plain concrete floor.

8~The Abyss- Near complete darkness engulfs the arena. Dark energy is abundant in this field.

9~The Sanctuary- Opposite of the Abyss. Light energy fills the arena. Its very bright!

10~No floor- The floor drops away leaving a pit filled with spikes. There are levitating platforms at varying heights, going all the way to the top of the arena. It's hard to jump from platform to platform, and trust me, you don't want to fall.

Mizuki awoke to the sound of her clock and cell phone alarms, sunlight filtering through the window blinds of her dormitory to signify the beginning of another day. Still drowsy she turned in her bed towards the nightstand lazily, her hand landing on the wooden surface searching for the source of either alarm. Upon finding the desk clock her fingers landed quickly on the Snooze button, then began to seek her cell phone. When her fingertips found the smooth surface of the mobile device she pulled it toward her, holding it and placing it beside her head on the pillow. Opening her eyes she was surprised by the sun's rays, her pupils having difficulty adjusting to the morning light after slumber. Rubbing her eyes Mizuki leaned on one elbow, the bed sheets rustling as she looked down at her cell phone to see what it was that was causing the noise. The bold letters seemed to stare at her in the face, and she had to reread the message over and over again:

Testing
8:30 A.M.

"Oh..." Mizuki muttered and then looked at her desk clock, the analog device proclaiming the time to be a quarter past eight in the morning. "C***...!" The bed sheets instantly flew up, clouds of white drifting back down to the mattress as Mizuki ran to the bathroom. How could I have forgotten?! Rushing through her morning routine she scolded herself mentally repeatedly for setting her alarm way too late. As she dressed she regretted forgetting something so important. Now I don't even have the time for a shower... After hastily dressing herself and tripping a few times because of being lost in thought Mizuki finally slipped on her gloves, now prepared but knowing that she didn't have much time. Walking back to the nightstand and retrieving her cell phone she felt something in her pocket. Reaching a hand inside she pulled out the Sand Dollar Austin had given her the day before. Smiling she put the shell down, replacing her cell phone on the small table before she felt a vibration and another alarm. Looking down at her device again she opened the new text message she had received.

Good morning, Mizuki. You have been assigned for testing today at 8:30 A.M. Transportation to the testing site will be available in 30 seconds. Be prepared and good luck.
~Administration of Tenshi University

Staring at the message Mizuki immediately ran toward the header of her bed, grabbing her katana and slinging it over her shoulder. Transportation...? How does that work...? Maybe I have to be in the hallway... She then began scanning over her room, making sure that everything was in place and that she had not forgotten anything before walking to the door. Before she could reach for the doorknob, however, the floor under her broke open, like the top of a cardboard box opening to the inside. Her body instantly obeyed the laws of gravity, dropping down into the shaft. Screams of suprise could be heard from the hallway as students passed by her dormitory room, only to be ignored and even snickered at by the nearby upperclassmen, telling the new students to continue their way to class.

Still screaming Mizuki slid down the shaft, her body gliding on the cement surface. The intertia and and speed of the initial fall kept her going throughout the whole ride, gliding in twists and turns until she felt herself freefall once again. "EH?!" Mizuki tried finding the walls of the shaft with her gloved hands, thinking it necessary to stop herself since she didn't know what was coming next. However, finding the walls she couldn't find anything to hold on to, finding only smooth cement as she continued to fall. Giving up she held her skirt down with her hands, pushing away the thought of using her feet to stop hersef, realizing that it might result in breaking her legs.

Suddenly the shaft exploded with light, and Mizuki used her arm to shield her eyes and brought her feet under her, preparing herself for landing by bending her knees slightly. Here goes nothing... She thought to herself. Feeling the air around her become warmer and warmer as she continued to fall she breathed in, realizing how dry the air was. What the...?! Exiting the shaft the girl was hit by the rays of the desert sun, or what seemed like it. Removing her arm and having her eyes adjust she saw that she was approaching the ground fast. Bracing herself she landed on the top of a sand dune, her feet hitting the top square and her knees absorbing the shock as Mizuki lurched her body forward into a roll, so as to avoid injuring herself. However, she didn't see that the dune's slope was rather steep. As she proceeded going down the dune she kept her arms in and her eyes closed, some sand getting in her mouth as the katana on her back protested by rattling against her. Desert...? Waiting until she came to a stop Mizuki thought of what could possibly happen here, grateful that she had decided to wear a white top in the morning rush despite the dizzying feeling in her head.

Finally stopping at the bottom of the dune she stood up, brushing herself off and spitting out the sand that she had almost swallowed. Nasty... Maintaining her composure she looked around, seeing nothing else but sand and dunes. "Great, just what I needed to start off the morning..." She said to herself with a sigh. "Maybe I shouldn't have signed up for a morning slot..." Her voice trailed off as she heard something behind her, the sifting of sand and a low growl growing in volume that made her freeze in place, remembering that Ginseku and Austin had been sent to the hospital because of their test. I should take this seriously... Bringing both her of hands up and behind her head she drew her katana, rotating her body and drawing the blade simultaneously. Bringing down the sword while turning she hit something solid, but her movement pulled the weapon through her target with ease. Mizuki saw that she had slashed through what appeared to be a monster still in development, entirely composed of sand. A smile with jagged teeth and eyes that caused her hands to tremble slightly were the only visible features that could be made out, the rest of its body still a clump of sand and air. However, her technique pulled through and the monster blew away with the wind. Now unable to see Mizuki kept the grip on her katana firm, her breathing controlled. Use your senses now...

Her eyes closed in order to prevent the sand from getting in her eyes Mizuki realized that she was now in a mild sandstorm, the wind bringing the sand to beat against her legs, the folds of her skirt barely protecting her. Bringing the collar of her shirt up to cover what she could of her face she tried to focus on her surroundings, ignoring her hair waving in her face while attempting to tune into the landscape and sense for any more opponents. Hearing the sifting sound of sand once again above the roar of the wind Mizuki let one hand let go of her sword, bringing it into a fist behind her and turning while the other swung the blade, arms extended. Feeling both limbs make contact with the enemy she felt them dissipate and tried pivoting her feet, but found them planted and her body not obeying her command, causing her to stumble. "Tch." Bringing one foot up and out of the sand she took another step, noting that the wind was dying down, the sound of more treading sand all around her. How many...one, two...no, five... Mizuki began to count how many in her head, opponents she had around her based on the noise they made, knowing that she was not able to use her sight while the wind still whipped around her.

At that moment she felt the wind die down again, the area calm except for the continuous shifting, the noise now becoming a hissing sound because of the number of monsters around her. Opening her eyes Mizuki was surprised to see at least fifteen surrounding her now. They must have developed while I was caught in that storm... She was now able to distinguish their arms, legs, and other features representing ancient soldiers, holding swords or spears as well as shields now. That's great...just great...does the school think that they are going easy?! Driving her katana forward she jabbed the sand warrior in front of her before it had the chance to strike at her first. However she felt the presence of another enemy behind her and swung her blade back and up, the clashing of swords resounding in the air as both katana and sand sword made contact. Mizuki's eyes grew wide at this development. What?! They're solidifying?!! Panicking for a moment she raised her free hand in the air, extending her index finger and beginning to write a spell with ancient characters. "Raitei Shorai!" She directed the glowing yellow characters to the soldier, the spell transforming into a lightning bolt and striking her opponent in the chest, causing the monster to collapse and result as simple sand at her feet. To think that I have to use my magic now... She grumbled mentally. She found herself sinking once again, so she jumped out and rolled on the sand, annoyed now. What a nuisance... She thought, slashing toward another monster. But, the spear that it held got to her first, cutting her in the cheek and missing her shoulder. "Neh..." Sword landing across the monster's chest it roared before collapsing just like the one before it.

"Great," Mizuki said sarcastically, wiping the blood from her cheek with the side of her gloved fist. "I wish I had known more about this test beforehand..." Resisting the tempation to whine she jumped again, determined to avoid sinking into the sand. As she went from monster to monster she heard her father's voice echoing in her head, giving her direction and advice even though she was getting cut along the way. Tilt the blade here...press forward...two hands...left-hand strike...right-straight... The numbers of monsters began to dwindle as the amount of wounds increased on Mizuki's skin, her breathing now harder to control as she used more and more energy. After defeating thirty opponents, Mizuki stopped to catch her breath. How long is this going to last? She wondered, sweat trickling from her brow because of the activity and the merciless "sun".

Looking up she saw that the remaining few monsters began to collapse into the ground on their own, as if they were retreating. "Phew..." Mizuki sighed with relief, a small smile beginning to form on her chapped lips. That was, until she saw that they were smiling as well. "Wait..." The ground then trembled beneath her, causing her to fall into the sand. Suddenly one of the dunes rose, the sand around it moving toward it as if the grains had a mind of its own. "What the--?!" Mizuki stood up, moving to another spot to prevent sinking any lower, and noticed that a shadow had fallen over her. "Ahhh...that actually feels nice." She sighed, savoring the shadow for a moment before directing her gaze above her. The sand had taken the appearance of a rabid dog, it's expression almost cynical with an enticing smile on its face. Eyes wide, Mizuki realized that her battle wasn't over. "S**T!!!"

A low growl escaped the dog's lips, and Mizuki tried to run from under its shadow, the sand slowing her down substantially. What sounded like a gutteral laugh resounded the area, and Mizuki heard the shifting of sand. Without looking back she knew what was coming, and in an attempt to save herself she began hastily writing characters in the air, sheather her katana with the other. Turning she saw the paw of the dog coming down upon her, the size making the option of running impossible. "Raitei Shorai" She commanded, extending her palm above her, creating an arced shield of lightning magic. The paw hit the spell, hesitating at first as if the dog had been shocked, but broke through. Mizuki had known that it wouldn't have been enough to stop it, and braced herself as the paw continued its course. Upon contact an explosion resounded in the battle field, grains of sand flying in every direction from the landing site. When the area cleared, Mizuki could be seen a couple feet from the monster's paw, having rolled away at the last minute. Coughing she could feel a rivulet of blood flow down her arm, the warm scarlet liquid marking her white skin.

And...now what...?! Mizuki thought, now desperate to find a solution to defeat the sand monster above her and survive this test in one piece. Getting up slowly she brushed herself off, taking deep breaths and beginning to analyze her opponent. Approximately fifty feet tall, shifting sand making up its surface...An idea came to her, and after pulling herself from the sand she ran forward, using big strides so that her delayed speed won't be too much of a factor in her approach. Taking her right gloved hand she pulled it back and formed a fist, aiming for the dog's ankle and charging forward. At that moment a wind blew over the battle field, kicking up the sand and disabling her vision. Even with her eyes closed she continued forward, feeling her fist make contact with the monster. However, Mizuki didn't stop. Inertia pushed her body to keep moving, and she felt grains of sand now up to the middle of her forearm. Huh?! As she waited for the wind to die down she heard a low, gravelly chuckle from the monster, causing her to panic and try to pull back, only to find that she was unable to. Opening her eyes she found her arm swallowed up by the sand, the grains shifting around the limb.

"Neh...!" Trying again she pulled, failing to free her arm. Looking down she found herself sinking down into the sand. "D****t!" Biting her bottom lip she drew another spell with her free hand, the characters forming a lightening bolt for her to hold. "Raitei Shorai!" Bringing her spell in her hand she brought it down on the leg of the dog, striking the sand near her arm. Bringing its head up, the monster roared in pain, the sand enveloping her limb seeming to retreat. Taking no chances in waiting, Mizuki withdrew, pulling her body backward so she can roll away again, a quicker method than trying to run in the sand. Standing up again she brushed her hair back, sweat coming down her cheek from her brow. So, you can sink in just like the sand between me...Except it can hold you there. Patting her katana to make sure it was still there Mizuki tried to think of another solution, knowing that physical attacks will do little at this point and that she didn't want to use too much lightening magic in one day. Giving a frustrated sigh she thought back to the monsters she had been fighting earlier, trying to figure out how she defeated them. Physical attacks...across the chest. But... Her eyes widened as if she had a revelation. Gasping she began to circle around the monster, eyes searching. Where is an open, but vulnerable spot on the body...? The dog eyed her, trying to figure out what she was planning. Bringing her gaze up she saw it, then brought a hand to her back, traveling up to the back of her neck. That's it...! But, how to get up there...

Recalling the recent events Mizuki put them together like a puzzle. The monster hated her lightning magic and she could sink into its surface. Bringing up her left hand she began to swiftly write multiple spells in the air, the yellow characters sending out flurries of sparks as they began to cirlce her body. This is risky...and I'll get hit...but it's all or nothing now. Only one chance to do this... Finishing her seventh spell Mizuki drew her katana with her right hand, holding the hilt with a firm grip. Here I go... Running towards the monster she noticed the dog turn its head, taking notice of her position and beginning to lift its paw. Immediately grabbing one of the hovering characters around her Mizuki aimed for its head. "Raitei Shorai." A bolt of lightning extended from her hand, hitting the dog on the side of its head, causing it pain and halting its movements. Bringing her arms back she then planted her feet before the slightly lifted paw, swinging the limbs forward again as her legs pumped and launched her body from the ground. Using the opportunity as the monster recovered from a blow to the head she ran up the leg, feeling her feet being adhered to the sand and quickly taking off, climbing up. Sheathing her sword again she began to flip on the sand to increase her speed, setting herself off using both upper and lower body strength. Arriving on the back of the dog she surged forward, drawing the blade again. Lifting her free hand she clenched her fist. "Raitei Shorai!" The remaining six spells then flew off to surround the beast, the characters expanding and growing to enormous sizes. The dog, now confused, looked around itself, not knowing what to do. Pulling her upheld fist down the spells suddenly shot out bolts of lightning, landing on several spots of the dog's body. Using the distraction Mizuki made her way to the neck, holding her blade in two hands and ignoring her burnt fingertips due to the magic that had burned through her gloves, burns developing in the same areas where cuts had marred her skin. As she ran she was hit with recoil by her own magic, gritting her teeth to bear the jolts of pain that wracked her body and feeling the water well up in her eyes. Sliding to a stop at the neck she brought her sword up, swinging it down swiftly to cut where she thought the spinal chord would be in an average dog.

More roars ensued, and the sand at the monster's feet began to sink into the ground, the enemy caving in. With a final outcry the monster then gave in, becoming a sand dune once again as it fell with defeat. Upon the crest of the dune the girl had collapsed, her energy spent and her breathing shallow. Gripping her katana once more she noticed tendrils of black at the edges of her vision, slowly closing in on what she could see. Father...did I...do it...? Mizuki soon become swallowed up in a state of unconsciousness, unable to lift her body from the sand, away from the blistering heat.
