This is a dream I had a couple of days ago while vacationing in California.
There is a lesson being taught by my history teacher. "I've put stone and crystal figurines under each desk. Besides your own, I want you to choose a few others from other people's desks. Then write a paper explaining why you chose those figures. Begin."
I look under mine out of curiosity. It's a beautiful chunk of amethyst or quartz crystals. A number five is written on the bottom.
I look at other figurines. Many are quartz or amethyst, shaped as thick obelisks. Some aren't stone or crystal but carved mahogany lanterns, eastern style. They appeal to me.
Then I notice that some figurines are standing on china tile flooring, with tiny fences. I find an adorable little light blue foundation with a plastic fence of white with a little gazebo. There is also a white plastic pawn under the gazebo.
I want to choose that one, but I wonder if there are other figurines that are taller and prettier with good flooring as well. But before I could go check, I was woken up.
I'm pretty sure that this dream represented a metaphor for my relationships, if not myself. What do you guys think it means?

I find it kind of neat that this is being presented by a history teacher. Must be something about them that you like. It would help to look at some aspects to admire and apreciate, maybe something important you learned from them.
I'm not familiar with numberology, but I think the 5 has something to do with the amethyst and fences. Those are both associated with protection, and barriers. Maybe you feel a need to keep on your guard.
Mahogany is a very strong wood, difficult to work with if you don't know what you are doing. Lanterns would be enlightenment, or there is some knowledge about the direction you are currently taking with your life.
The gazebo and the pawn I'm not sure about just yet. Gazebos are a great place fore personal reflection and admiration, pawns are those poor folks caught on the front line of things who are often over looked unless they accomplish the impossible to actually become recognized and feel worthy.
And you just happen to wonder if there was something better lol poor pawn xd
anyway. That is all that I could get from that. Hope someone else can do better.

According to dreammoods, obelisks can be phallic, which leans towards the selecting a guy thing. I mostly wondered about the pawn and if it's me or another guy. I wondered if it could be suggestive of superficialness if he's not crystal or wood.
