I'm pretty happy about a gay captain lol. Kinda like when Lance Bass the voice for Sethiroth Kingdom hearts 1, I looked to my friends with a smile and said "See told you Sethiroth was gay"
I got punched in the arm by everyone in the room.
That kingdom hearts thing made me laugh
But yeah I'm uber excited for him to play Captain America
3nodding heart ohhh, me and the college crew had no end of discussion about that when we found out it was bass. many jokes about sephiroth dropping out of SOLDIER to join a boyband ensued. i think we decided cloud and zack were two of the backstreet boys, don't ask me which ones after all these years, and that barret would be mr T, because barret is ALWAYS MR. T!
xd of course, now that crisis core exists, and Genesis is essentially squeenix's desperate fantard plea to have a leather-clad camui gackt prancing around reciting poetry in their game, they really could make a ShinRa boyband. (they've been making every main character since cloud look like him anyway, it's about time they stopped fanboying and paid the man to be in a game.)
no, seriously, there's a website out there that has character shots next to pictures of gackt in stage costumes that look almost exactly like the characters. there's even one during his blonde-spiky-with-blue-contacts period where he did a magazine layout in a leather trenchcoat and white shoulder-length wig and looked VERY sephiroth before sephiroth even existed, it's creepy.
the only thing that ticked me off was when they overdubbed Ansem with a different voice for KH2, they gave up BILLY ZANE for the dude who does batou on GITS:SAC. i mean it was BILLY ZANE!! i'd have picked up a giant key and fought squiggly cute monsters too just for a chance to get him monologueing his evil plans before he smote me in 3.5 seconds. totally worth it, he had that whole liquid core of darkness thing going on when he did ansem's voice.
heart *cough* okay, where was i before the long voice acting ramble? well, anyways, barrowman does have the classic square-jaw heroic good looks as well anyway, now if only he can pull off wearing a red white and blue spandex costume and carrying around a plastic shield...
or leather, they seem to be making a lot of marvel characters upgrade to leather in their movie forms, well, except when they're suddenly nekkid like mystique, but was anyone but the parents really complaining about that one? but think about it, daredevil got leather, all the x-men got leather, i'm still surprised the F4 didn't get it too.
ah well, rambling again.
