I still suck at stepmania
maybe I'm just not used keying it

Well, on stepmania.. not that long. It only took as long as it did because I developed a three finger style which meant it didnt emulate the movement of feet exactly. And of course, I had been playing DDR before that.

Though that depends on what you define as "good". I can pass all of the hardest songs in ITG on SM, but have nowhere near the accuracy that people like lunar have. Im much better on my feet, as is reflected by my scores. All my fingers have is stamina.

Souh... Maybe a month of adjustment and practice?

If you want to get better, try a variety of files. Don't play the same s**t over and over again. I've gotten to the point where if a pattern comes up, chances are I'm going to be able to hit it. I've been playing for a year and I started out one handed with DDR officals and I could pass The Legend Of Max BARELY with a C. It takes a lot of time to get better and practice. Back when I started, I was focusing on skill, then style because my skill wasn't really getting anywhere. After I switched to num pad I could do things like Waka Laka and S.O.S. from the keyboard mega pack. Just keep trying and you'll get it.
