Connor flipped his hair out of his face, looked up demurely, and said, "I would love to have a position on your cockpit if you don't mind. And I wouldn't have anything against going out for drinks either..." Connor would have this man, even if he had to give up everything on the ground to get him. But of course, none of this showed on his face. He kept that a mask of modesty and shyness.

"We'll discuss the mechanics (oho!) behind the job at a later date," Kher said with a comforting smile, "but how about we meet for drinks... say.... 20 years ago?"
Without explaining what he meant to Connor, who looked incredibly confused, he took him by the hand and whipped out of the room to a cramped booth with a single lever inside. Kher squeezed both him and Connor inside and set the date (which you could change using a meter above the lever) to October 9th, 1814, exactly 20 years previous. He cranked the lever and sent them into a warp, laughing crazily as he did so.

Looking confused, Connor was about to ask, "What is that supposed to mean." But the words were forced back into his throat as he was lead forcibly inside a booth. Before anything could be done about it they were sent into a warp. Connor's mind was flooded with the roar of information that was invading his senses.

When the warp stopped, Kher stopped laughing and opened the door to the booth. He glided out of it, with Connor trailing behind. He looked around with a smile and said "Aha, so I WAS correct! The machine worked after all! Great time to test it, too... Yes, 20 years into the past, same place"

It seemed unimpressive to Connor. It didn't seem to be any different. The bartender seemed to look a little younger, but that could just be the light. Looking around was eerie though. Like they shouldn't be there. Ignoring the feeling Connor sat at the bar. The tender asked, "What'll it be?" Connor just looked around and pointed to a gentleman who happened to be in the room. "I'll have what he is having." The bartender said, "Good choice my lad. One Martini coming up."

Kher piped up "And I'll have the usual!" with a giant happy face, complete with closed eyes and wide mouth.
"I don't even know you, sir" Said the bartender.
Kher's face remained through the awkward pause.
"I'm just kidding of course"
"ehehe.... of course...." Kher brought out a randomly acquired wrench, maintaining the same expression on his face, as if he were threatening the bartender.

Connor was surprised at the choice of drink by the large man he had pointed to. The cogs turned in his head and he finally realized it... This was the night his parent's met. Keeping the fact to himself, he accepted his martini with grace and watched the impending scene.
(Sorry so short. I was rushed)

Kher acquired his drink and turned around. He met face to face with himself. It was as if he was looking into a mirror. This was obviously himself from this time period, but you could tell by looking, for they looked exactly the same. They even had the same drink.
Kher looked over his past self and said "I like the way you dress!". In response, Kher's past self said "I was going to say the same thing!"

Connor just chuckled to himself and shook his head. The man could be very odd at times. He beckoned to who he hoped was the 'present day' Kher. There was silence all around. It seemed as though all of the guests were looking at him. He quickly checked himself, and, finding nothing wrong, just attributed it to him beckoning to another man. It was a very different world back then.
