I love living where I do! Because i'm right next to a park, i get a lot of dark sky in the back yard, and so i went out tonight to take a look. I didn't regret it. It was beautiful! you have to be patient with meteor showers. This time there were about 100 every hour, and when you saw one, it was SPECTACULAR you know those times where you see a small little shooting star? It's bigger and brighter than a star and it goes flying through the sky. They're so beautiful. Sorry, i'm in astronomy mode. *twitches slightly* I haven't been this giddy since my lunar eclipse last winter. (last one for three years North America, sorry guise)
There's still time. It goes until about 4 AM in North America. Look towards Casseopia, but a little higher than that. (so up, but a little east)
Discuss: Celestial events that you've seen The end of the world (not. *snort*)

I didn't see it. House is surrounded by trees, but then again I didn't try very hard. One of my friends said he was going to sit on his roof and watch it. I don't know if he was successful. ._.;;

dammit, if i had known about that and wasn't dead tired after being at Wonderland all day (not only that, incredibly late getting home thanks to traffic on the 401), i would have watched that >.< i think the last time i saw a meteor shower (and then very minimally) was the huge blackout back in 2003...holy crap that was today! O.O weird coincidence.
other celestial events i've seen...i've seen the Northern Lights! biggrin coolest thing ever! sure, they weren't as colourful as you normally see, but it was awesome! i never would have thought you could see them in Quebec, and we aren't even that far north, but it was definately worth the drive up to my grandmother's that night.
