Rin smiled greatfully at Lenore, she was always happy to have help, particularly when it was a situation when she wasn't 100% sure how she was going to handle it. "I'm sorry about this, I really am, but I'll make it as quick as I can."
She went about preparing the needle for Echo, one of the few times she could do something with complete confidence. She was good with medical stuff.
"It'll p***k a little but not bad, I always find it hurts less if I'm not looking at the needle" Rin said "or if you think about something else, something you like or something like that." She gave the little girl a moment or two to do anything else she may need to do before she pricked the child and injected her as quickly and as accurately as she could.

Echo continued to bite her lip and fidgeted, wincing in pain before the needle ever touched her skin. Her eyes were still clamped shut after it was removed, awaiting the horrible stab. It wasn't until Lenore chimed, "Yay Echo!" that the little girl realized it was already over. She puffed out her chest and lightly beat on her chest. "It didn't hurt!"
Lenore rolled her eyes and giggled softly before rolling up her sleeve. "I'm ready."

Rin finished with Echo by placing a brightly coloured band-aid with cute little cartoon animals on it on the girl's arm. "See, needles aren't so bad," she said, "you did great."
She started to prepare the second needle, the one for Lenore. She had never seen a child so alright with getting a needle as Lenore was. She didn't always care but it was a nice change really.
She repeated the process she had done with Echo, telling the girl she was about to give her the needle, wait a moment or two for the girl to prepare if she needed it. Then once she had given the needle, getting a band-air for her too.

Lenore stared blankly ahead as she received the injection. If it did cause her any discomfort, her poker face certainly did not portray so. When it was done she reached up for her father. "Up."
Her sister was still beaming from the praise and the animal band-aid, but when she saw Lenore demanding attention from her father, she joined in chorus. "Upupup!"
Thankfully the girls were light, as Flint was able to balance them, one on his hip and the other crooked in an arm, while he fished through his pocket for his wallet. "Thank you. What do I owe you?"
