Lesson One Homework.
Delila Morgan

The spells that were practiced in lesson one were the stunning spell, stupefy, and the reviving spell, ennervate or rennervate. These spells are very useful in the case of a duel or when being attacked. Stupefy would effectively disable a threatening opponent without causing them any harm aside from the fall to the ground once stunned. Likewise, it is importent to know the counter-jinx to this spell as you or someone you know may enocunter a person who has been stunned and it is important to be able to revive these people. Or, if going off the previous scenario, you will also need to revive the person you have stunned after they have been safely secured and are no longer dangerous.

Two other spells that might be useful are Oblittero and Expelliarmus. Oblittero, the obliteration charm, can be used to conceal tracks and objects that you don't want to be seen. And expelliarmus is the dissarming spell. This spell is relatively self explanatory in that it dissarms your opponent. This can be useful in that it can dissarm the opponent without causing them harm, and thus rendering the situation much safer.

DADA Lesson One Homework
Persephone Price

The spells we used today were stupefy, the stunning spell, and its countercurse, ennervate. Both of these spells are extremely important; during a duel, stupefy is extremely useful because it renders your opponent completely defenseless and unable to attack. Stupefy is also useful in case one had to defend onself against an animal attack. Ennervate is just as significant, in case a friend or witness to an event is found stupefied. It is always important to know how to undo every spell.

Two other spells and their countercurses are lumos and nox, as well as accio and depulso. Lumos, which ignites the wand tip to provide light for the wand-bearer, is a very basic spell; however, it is extremely useful. Any time a wizard finds himself in a dark place, lumos provides a quick, constant source of light. Its counter, nox, puts out the light at the wand tip, allowing a wizard to hide in the dark should an enemy approach. Accio is also a basic spell, but like lumos, it is extremely useful. Not only can one summon random objects, but one can summon helpful weapons during a fight or steal weapons from the enemy. Its counter depulso forces objects away from the caster, including people or animals. If there is a harmful object or rampaging animal near a wizard, he simply needs to cast depulso to get the object or animal away from him, giving him a chance to run or otherwise remove himself from harm's way.

DADA Homework
Miranda Welland

The spells we learned it class were
Stupefy-the stunning spell and
Ennervate its counter spell.
I feel it's important to know both of these because stunning is one of a witch/wizards first defenses. Stunning is a relatively simple spell that most students, and therefore almost all adults in our world would know. Therefore, it's imperative when faced with a hostile situation that one would be aware of this basic spell and be able to counter it.

Other Spells
Levicorpus/Liberacorpus- Levicorpus dangles its target from their ankle in midair. Liberacorpus releases them. I think Levicorpus is an important spell because it's a simple way of rendering an enemy useless. Being a non-verbal spell levicorpus gives you a split sencond advantage as your enemy does not know what to expect. Also, even if your opponent performs the counter spell themselves the descent is rarely graceful. Giving you the advantage as they land on the ground in a heap.

Expelliarmus. Expelliarmus is a disarming spell. It sends an opponent's wand flying. This is extremely useful as it gives you a chance to strike again while your opponent is unable to defend themselves.
Expelliarmus has no counter charm as to counter its effects you need only pick up your wand again.

Ryu Hanazaki's Homework

The spells we learned in our first lesson are Stuupify and Ennervate; a.k.a, Reennervate. Both spells are equally important. As Stupify stuns an opponent, Ennervate will revive them.

Two more curses and jinxes are Diminuendo and the Backfiring Jinx. Diminuendo will cause the person or thing to decrease in size. It's counter is Engorgio, wich will either A: cancel out the spell, or B: increase the object or person's size. The Backfiring Jinx is a sort of barrier that will take anything that touches it and throw it away from the effected object. It's counter is the simple spell: Finite Incantatum, wich will stop it. I chose these spells as they came straight to my head when I heard the assignment.

The spells we practiced in class were Stupify and its counter Enervate (Rennervate). I think the spells are helpful to know in any kind of dangerous situation which requires you to stun the enemy, even for a short while to make an escape or bind them if necessary. If to bind them, Stupify could be used to stun them, then Enervate to revive them after you've bound them.

Another pair of sets of spells that could be helpful would be Sonorus and its counter Quietus, and also Lumos and its counter Nox.
Sonorus would be helpful when dealing with an already loud group of people, or just to make some sort of announcement. The spell will amplify your voice until you recite its counter Quietus, which pretty much speaks for itself. I chose these spells because I know how hard it can be to need to speak over people, and i know it would be overly helpful in selected situations.
Lumos is a spell which will send a beam of light out of the caster's wand tip. This spell is helpful at almost anytime, whether to read secretly at night, or to light an overly dark passage. Its counter Nox will extinguish the light. I chose these spells because I have used them many times myself and I know them very well.

Defence Against The Dark Arts,
Lesson one

By Virginia Pure,

Today's lesson was about Stunning and Reviving your opponent, a practical lesson, in which we learned that to stun a person, the incantation is Stupefy, and to Revive them, it's Rennervate (Or Ennervate). It's highly useful in dueling, for it leaves the opponent incapable of doing anything at all until revived.

Two other spells and their counter-spells are: Alohomora and Colloportus, and Legilimens and Occlumens. Colloportus is a spell to lock any door, mostly accompanied by an odd squelching noise, and Alohomora is known to unlock most locked doors. These spells are highly useful to move around/break in/ protect your house. There are locked doors which cannot be opened by the Alohomora spell.
Legilimency is a branch of magic to extract feelings and memories from a certain person. Occlumency is the ability to block a Legilimens. These are both highly useful when dealing with enemies, allowing you to both read the minds of your opponents, as well as blocking your own to them.
