Kaigara's gaze swept across the field, looking for her best friend, Shirin. She frowned, remembering Shirin went looking for a real friend to go on adventures with her. Apparently small little Kaigara wasn't good enough for her. A scowl set over her face at this thought and Kai walked forward, not really caring where she was going, grumbling. After a while of wandering no where in particular Kai noticed two things. One, she was still bored out of her grumpy little mind. And two; she had no idea where she was. Frantically searching the terrain for some sort of landmark, Kai knew she hadn't listened nearly enough when Shirin had rambled on and on about Honshu and it's landscape. Her tail dropping, Kai resigned herself to the fact that she was lost. Yes, she knew that she most likely hadn't wandered that far, but that was the thing about being lost, you usually didn't know which direction you came from. Tears starting welling out of her eyes. Now she was alone, bored, angry and lost. Great, just great. What else could happen to her today?

A kuniku pup lay lazily on a sturdy branch of an apple tree, and the height from which he could see gave him a marvelous view of the area. Although he was surrounded mostly by a field, there was a fence that held cows nearby, and he could spot and count all the livestock in the herd from his location. Unagi had been up there for a couple of hours now, just having awoken from a nap in the shade of the tree's leaves. He slowly sat up, and made sure to avoid hitting his head on a branch above him. His golden eyes looked around, and at first, he didn't spot anything interesting. That was good, because he didn't want anyone to bother him.
Unagi sighed softly and was about to lay back down when he saw something wandering across the field; that thing was another kuniku pup. A frown fell onto Unagi's face, and he immediately decided that he wanted nothing to do with that kuniku. He had gone exploring on his own for the day just to be away from his mother and younger brother, so he certainly wasn't looking for company. He turned his head away and crossed his forelegs, not wanting to think about the stranger when Oops! He fell! Unagi managed to flap his wings a bit to slow the fall, but the sound of him yelping out of surprise would certainly not have gone unnoticed by anyone. He groaned as he landed on his back, stomach exposed and his head resting on the roots of the tree. "It hurts..." He muttered, his eyes still shut tightly.

The sound of another Kuniku's yelp jarred Kaigara out of her misery. Jumping up from the spot she had lay down on, Kai quickly tried to pinpoint the direction of the yelp before she went off to investigate. Distracted from her 'misery' almost entirely,Helen rushed towards the tree she guess the sound came from. Scrambling as fast as her stubby little legs could carry her, she couldn't help but think about how exciting this was. The fact that the other could be seriously hurt not even crossing her mind.
That was why when she found the other pup sprawled on the ground, she was taken aback. Her eyes grew wide as she stared down at him. "A- are you bleeding? What on you hurts?" She tried to remember the questions Shirin had asked her about the numerous injuries she had received on their few journeys. Glancing at the tree she guessed he had fallen from, Kai figured he hadn't fallen far enough to have serious, or permanent damage. Especially with his wings. She carefully pulled the blue Kuniku over, looking for blood or other injuries. "Umm, tell me if I'm hurting you..."

Unagi's eyes shot open wide as he heard a voice talking to him, questioning if he was okay or not. "....." He then winced as Kaigara turned him over, and realized that she was in fact the kuniku that he had planned on ignoring. Oh, how embarrassing... His ears flattened back, and he pushed Kai away from him with a paw before standing and shaking his head roughly. "I'm fine, I don't need your help." True to his word, Unagi actually was alright. Maybe a bruise or two, but that wasn't enough to keep him down and out.
Unagi took a couple of steps away from Kai, spreading his wings and flapping them a little-- Yes, they were all right. He nodded his head, further confirming that he was okay. His pride wouldn't allow him to be taken care of by anyone, but especially not by a stranger."What are you doing out here? There's nothing here but a cow pen." He asked, wanting to change the subject from himself.

Good. No blood. So focused on her task, she hadn't even noticed him start to move. Kaigara leaned over him again and was about to resume looking for injuries (even though she had no idea what to look for) when she felt something push her away. Looking up in surprise, she noticed the other pup was up, and rejecting her help. "Whatever." Kai rolled her eyes, obviously upset with his brusque manner. She shook her mane, trying to resume an expression showing that she didn't care, even if she really did.
Kaigara watched him spread out his wings a little worried. She knew they'd just go away eventually, but she would be devastated if she lost hers any sooner then she had too. "I'm, uhhh, well, I... I got lost" She stuttered, not wanting to admit this to the 'tough' guy in front of her. She averted her eyes as she said this, suddenly taking a great interest of her little purple feet.

"Lost, huh?" Well, he guessed that was a good enough reason for being out in the middle of nowhere. Unagi turned back to face Kaigara, and he sighed when he realized just how sad she looked. Once again, she was still a stranger and Unagi didn't like to give others a lot of attention... but somehow, he felt a little sorry for Kaigara. Unagi had made sure to pay close attention when his mother had shown him and his brother around the area that they were currently staying in, so he had never gotten lost before. "What's your name? I'm Unagi." He decided to introduce himself because it looked like Kaigara could really use a friend right now, and probably some help getting back home.
As he waited for an answer, Unagi took the time to take a good look at Kaigara. He figured there was nothing wrong with that since he'd probably end up walking her home, anyway. His gaze went all the way from the tips of her ears down to her tail, and it was then that Unagi decided that he didn't think purple was an ugly color. And, come to think of it, he also realized that he probably wasn't that much older than her, so he wouldn't need to treat her like a baby.

"He he, yeah. I was a little distracted and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going..."she shifted a little, she wasn't as sad as she was embarrassed. She was supposed to be the calm one, taking control and making sure he was okay, not the other way around. This was a serious hit to her pride. Especially since she considered herself an explorer, she knew she must have been through here 50 times, Shirin would be disappointed. If only she knew which way she had came from. "I'm Kaigara, though most people call me Kai." Secretly, she was glad he looked willing to help her, but if anyone had asked her she would deny it vehemently.
Kai noticed him looking at her and lowered her head shyly, peeking out to take a look at him. she had to admit he had really pretty colors, for an icky boy. Looking at him vaguely reminded her of water, but then again, she hadn't had much experience with that considering Shirin was terrified of water and therefore Kai had never really seen the ocean. Looking at him closely (AKA not out of the corner of her eyes) she noted all the different shades and hues of his coat. She could tell he was just slightly older by his size, which was less humiliating then being found by someone even younger then herself. she just hoped he wouldn't lord the small difference in her face.

Unagi merely nodded when Kaigara introduced herself to him. He'd try to remember her name, or to at least call her Kai since that would be a little easier for him since he wasn't sure if they would actually become friends. He didn't seem bothered at all by the fact that she was really looking at him as he spoke. "Do you live somewhere in the city?" He asked, hoping that she hadn't wandered too far away from wherever it was she was staying. If he deemed that this task was too troublesome, he'd just take her back with him to his mother and let her take Kaigara home.
"I've learned this area pretty well, so if it's somewhere that I've been to, I should be able to take you home myself." Unagi sounded proud as he spoke about his mother's teachings. He always did his best to pay close attention to everything that she taught him. He had been exploring on his own to try and put the lessons to good use, and hoped that this might be abother chance to improve his sense of direction and knowledge of traveling. After all, he wasn't going to stay by his mother's side forever, and would need to be able to navigate on his own.

Kai duly noted his nod with a nod of her own, realizing he wouldn't make much of an effort for friendship, so she wasn't going to stress about it either. "Yeah. You know how to get there from here?" It all looked the same from every direction, Kai honestly couldn't discern one direction from the other here. Sure, the trees and rock formations were different, but what would that matter when you didn't pay attention on the way in? She really hoped this pup actually knew what he was doing and not just showing off. Shirin had told pretty of stories about being led astray by someone who pretended to know what they were doing.
"Really? You must have a great travel partner." She paused shortly, debating whether or not to finish her thought. "But I bet mine is better." She blurted it out quickly, before she could stop herself. She shot a smug smile at him before turning around and scanning the land for what must of been the 15th time. Kai knew that all she needed to do was find her way back on the right path from here, and she would be able to find her way home. So she actually didn't really worry about causing Unagi to hate her and leave. Because she knew she could always sneak behind him and follow him back on the right path to home.
