Lanakirene wasn't one for kiting about after hours. Like most dragonriders, she ate, slept, and even breathed on a schedule, and unusual interruptions weren't highly favoured. Particularly since Lanakirene was working as a healer in addition to as a dragonrider. But tonight was an exception to the rule. Tonight was special.

And it really was, too. For the first time in what felt like (and probably was) turns, both moons hung full in the sky, and their combined light was full bright enough to walk unassisted by glows. Everything was that special, shimmery silver that only a full moon could achieve...amplified by two. It was beautiful. And too bright for her OR Isonth to sleep. Which was why she was out and about with her dragon. If she had to be awake, she was going to find someone to share it with, and she had just the person in mind.

Someone who would definitely need the pick-me-up since the disaster of the last Hatching.

Lanamine, are you sure this will be all right? Isonth asked, only once, her tone pleasant and not at all worried. She thought the idea was a good one, and was wearing the straps for it.

Of course, Isonth. I'm only borrowing her for a bit, and there's not actually a curfew rule. Well, at least not when it came to the same gender. She had a tiny basket with a single glow in one hand, the other she rested on Isonth's shoulder until they reached La's destination. Then Isonth settled quietly outside the Candidate barracks and laid her head on the ground.

Hefting her glowbasket, La tiptoed into the girls' side of the barracks, looking for a very particular face. She was hoping the other young woman was awake, but she wasn't sure she was going to be that lucky...or even how she was going to find her.

Ollen sighed, cuddling with her two little greens the pungent scent of lavender mixed with almonds invading her nostrils. She loved the smell of them, oiled or not, they were wonderful. This was certainly the life, she was awake just loving their company, their warm little bodies clinging loosely to her chest, she was sitting awake in a chair next to her hammock, there didn't seem like an inch to move with all the women in one area.

Winning Knot had been a wonderful thing to pick up her spirits after the horrific events at the Hatching. A chill still ran down the tall candidate's spine thinking about the poor little blue, and the egg.

Her eyes unfocused in the darkness as she thought about what tomorrow would hold; more chores, more training for Knot, whom thus far was already proving to be smarter than little Ahoy. She blinked a few times trying to focus her eyes enough to see where the light was being emitted from. She leaned forward dislodging Ahoy who gave an indignant squawk before clinging to her bonded.

"Shh," Ollen whispered, but the sound 'shh' often carries in the silence and a few girls near her squirmed in their sleep.

Lanamine, someone might possibly get the wrong idea with you sneaking about so, Isonth pointed out. But La shook her head and sent reassuring feelings at Isonth, who snorted in La's head and proceeded to ignore her. Not that Lanakirene minded. Isonth liked the idea of what La was doing, but not the idea of La getting in trouble. Which stood to reason.

Lifting her miniature glowbasket higher at the sound of a squawk, La stopped for a moment and pinpointed the direction of both that sound and the hush following it. She wasn't an expert at each firelizard's unique way of speaking, but she got the idea that she had heard that particular noise before, and hopefully it would match up with what she wanted.

Isonth, can you tell which flitters are awake and which one made that noise?

There is an irritated little one there, but I don't know who it is, Isonth answered, reaching out to the flitt curiously and hoping it wasn't one who was going to raise a fuss and wake everyone, just to get La in trouble. La agreed with those hopes and moved near-silently toward where she thought the sounds were coming from.

Just as she felt she had reassured Ahoy back to sleep the flitter's blue eyes tinged a muddled yellow few open and she clung tighter digging into her human's chest.

"See here, you will go back to sleep, you little dimglow," she muttered, oh yes this was the life. she rolled her eyes and patted the scared flitter's side. She wasn't good at picking up any sort of mental cues the little ones had, especially when they were excited.

Looking around to make sure she hasn't woken up Tealyn, the awful woman who slept near her she gently placed Knot, who for now was still asleep, into her hammock. Ahoy refused to budge from her chest, Ollen slowly made her way to the source of light.

"Is this why you're being so jumpy?" She pointed to the form, pretty sure that her jostling the green wasn't the cause for her alarm.

Oh dear...I seem to have upset the little one, Lanamine. Isonth sounded troubled and disappointed, and sent Ahoy a quick wave of warmth before retracting her contact, not eager at all to upset the little thing more. La appreciated that and sent a quick affirmation of Isonth's actions before looking up and seeing someone emerge from the alcove not too far from her.

Excellent! Just the person she wanted to see! La held the glow up to her face and smiled, moving closer to Ollen before she said anything. She wanted to wake as few people up as possible. But as soon as she was close enough, she impulsively reached out and grabbed Ollen's hand.

"It's me, La," she whispered. "Get dressed and come with me, I want to show you something."

It probably sounded more mysterious than it was, but La didn't mind. An element of surprise was a good thing, especially when what she wanted to show Ollen was so worth it. Worth a trip to the Weyr heights, or down to the beach...or something. She wasn't entirely sure where she wanted to go yet, just that she wanted to share it with someone.

Ollen was just about to scold Ahoy again when she quieted and looked out around her with curious eyes. Maybe she has brain damage, she must be addled, the candidate thought shaking her head.

"Oh, I thought Ahoy..never mind, alright I'll be right back," she whispered and slipped back into the alcove where she slept. Gently detaching Ahoy from her shirt she gave the green very firm directions to stay here with Knot, beside the little mint green was already looking tired. Ahoy look startled and settled in beside Knot protectively, her eyes whirling slowly, Isonth had startled he, but her reassuring warmth had calmed her, Ahoy was not one for logic, after all she was a very silly green.

"Where are we going?" She whispered, straightening out her thick tunic, why would La be coming to get me? A crooked smile spread across her face thinking about where they might be heading.

As soon as Ollen came back, La had taken her hand again, holding up the glowbasket so she could illuminate both their faces and grin at Ollen. The question made her laugh, almost inaudibly, and she turned toward the door again.

"Just come on, you'll see!" she whispered insistently, refusing to say anything more until they were out of the barracks. It wouldn't do to wake anyone else up, particularly since she was realizing that a dragonrider kidnapping a Candidate in the dead of night was...more odd than she had realized at first. But it wasn't long until they were out in the open again, and La let go of her friend to fling her arms wide.

"Two full moons at once!" she said delightedly, whirling in a circle and nearly tripping over her own feet. All right, yes, she was giddy. Maybe it was the conspiracy. Maybe she was moonstruck. She didn't know.

You look foolish, Lanamine. An amused rumble preceded Isonth, who approached the pair slowly, dipping her head and leaning in to look into Ollen's eyes when she came close enough to do so. I am glad you are not in trouble, she remarked to her rider, and La laughed.

I'm good at what I do, what can I say? she answered, reaching up to scratch Isonth's eyeridges before looking back at Ollen and beaming.

Ollen exhaled slowly, as she walked beside her friend, not realizing that she had been holding her breath, and tried not to focus too much on the fact that this was twice now the other woman had grabbed for her hand. Proof, at least in Ollen's mind that she had not torn everything up completely by acting like a dimglow before the hatching.

"The moons are beautiful!" she exclaimed. She looked up at the moons in silent awe. Looking at La twirling in the moonlight she couldn't help but notice her beautiful features, she wasn't like most women Ollen had ever met, she did not have curves she flaunted, but her form mixed with her personality were a perfect match. She blinked and swallowed hard, why was she thinking like this?

"Good Evening, Isonth," She beamed at the two, trying to shake her thoughts. She gave Isonth a large crooked smile, "What has your up to this evening?" Of all the dragons Isonth was the one Ollen had really ever gotten a good look at and she often thought in wonder about the green...and at times her rider. The young woman chalked her thoughts up to envy at what Lanakirene had, Isonth and a budding apprenticeship in something she loved.

"So a night under two moons, with two wonderful ladies?" She chuckled. Would her friend get in trouble for sneaking her out? She knew of a curfew between genders, but they were both female..and one was a rider, so she had..some sort of reason to be out, didn't she?

Cooing softly at the compliment, eyes whirling an amused blue, Isonth nuzzled Ollen and then bumped her head against La's stomach affectionately. She had learned in the time between her and Ollen's first meeting, and her contact with her rider no longer knocked Lanakirene over. Very often. La simply stumbled back a step and then refocused her attention on Ollen.

Everything was beautiful in the moonlight; Ollen was no exception. She wasn't what La immediately looked for in another woman...at all, but perhaps La had been looking in the wrong places for too long. She smiled wryly and draped an arm around Ollen's shoulders. Isonth rumbled with amusement.

You spend too much time planning your Flights, Lanamine, Isonth said playfully. La snorted and boxed lightly at her dragon's nose with her free hand, looking to Ollen and grinning in spite of herself. "I was hoping you'd be willing to come out with me," she said lightly. "Come flying to somewhere...I'm not sure where yet," she admitted.

"It's too beautiful out to not share it with someone spe...." she paused for an instant, alarm at what had just escaped her mouth unheeded, but decided to run with it and returned Ollen's crooked smile. "Someone special."

Ollen stumbled a bit with the sudden nuzzling and burst into laughter. The so much physical contact from dragon and rider made her skin feel prickly like the way you can sometimes feel lightening if you're too close to where it strikes. She leaned into La slightly focusing on the other woman.

"I'd..be happy to go with you," special? Me? The only person she had ever been special to was her auntie, a silly thing to think about, but it was just the truth.

"You're taking me to a place you don't know where," she mused out loud, "I..I'm happy that you thought of me to share a wonderful night with." Oh, Shards! That came out wrong!

"I..I mean." she laughed and looked at her boots.

La simply grinned at Ollen, letting the accidental innuendo pass. She wasn't the sort to pick on those things, having embarrassed herself with them enough to know how it felt to be on the delivering end of an accidental slip-up. Instead of commenting on it, she waited for Ollen to look back up at her before saying, "I'm glad you want to come." and then turning to Isonth.

"We could go down to the beach, or up to the heights, or......anywhere, really." She shrugged and gave Ollen a slightly mischievous grin. "We could go up to the Star Stones, or out onto the Hatching Sands. There are no Queens or clutches there now." Yes, she was probably moon-mad. But she wanted to do something spontaneous and fun and maybe just a bit crazy.

And...admittedly, she wanted to impress Ollen.

Isonth rumbled her amusement again and lay down, curling her neck around where her rider and her rider's friend stood. When you have decided, Lanamine, let me know. You are puffing yourself up like Menalia has started doing to make himself look bigger, she remarked teasingly.

La chose to ignore it and instead awaited Ollen's reply.
