As soon as Rhian was taken to the front room, Ellandra found herself shuddering a little. She did nothing to resist Keagan setting her into the bed beside Faolan, simply mumbling a sad little, "Thank you," and snuggling as close to him as she could get, closing her eyes. Meanwhile, Rhian was yawning sleepily but resisting Ziazan's carrying her to the couch.
"I have to - go - help, let me go - I need to help!"

"Rhian, let them help each other now," Zia sighed. "Remember what I told you once about how sometimes our owners have to help themselves? Besides, you're worn out and you need rest, too. I want to talk with you some, anyway."
The alter sat down on the couch, holding Rhian against its thin chest and watching Keagan leave before speaking again. "You and I need to decide how we can best help them now. They'll probably both sleep awhile and you need sleep, too, but before you rest, we should maybe trade information on what's been going on."
In the bedroom, Faolan sighed in his sleep, seemingly aware of his wife's presence, and rolled over, putting an arm around her. He smiled softly in his sleep, murmuring something quietly.

Rhian nodded reluctantly and settled against Ziazan's chest, yawning widely and blinking up at her older sibling. "I'm sorry, I'm just used to being with Mama constanly now, she needed me a lot," she said, flicking her antennae a few times. "What do you want to know?"
Ellandra moced a little closer to Faolan and sighed softly, drifting into sleep herself - a deeper, fuller rest than she'd had in quite some time now.

"Well, is she and the babies going to be alright? You react differently to them than I do, so what did you manage to pick up from them?" Zia asked, drawing it's knees up a bit for Rhian to rest back against if she wanted. "I can't even tell what Fao's feeling right now. I mean, I get things when touching him, but they're just his thoughts and those are sort of a mess. I can't read emotions."

Rhian tilted her head a little. "Well, the babies are hard to tell, but I think they're happy, they seemed happier though when we got back. . . . Mama's . . . . Mama's been very sad and now she feels all guilty too, it's a lot to bear. . . " The flutterby paused for a very long time, her silence only broken by an immense yawn as she thought about what to call Ellandra'shusband now. "Faolan . . . . Faolan felt sad, too, very very sad, but also broken. But he feels a little better now." Rhian yawned again and snuggled up to Ziazan, blinking heavily. "Does that help?"

"I think so. I felt the thoughts from Mama behind the guilt," Zia sighed. "Fao feels pretty guilty, too, I think. At least what I got from his thoughts seemed to think so." It looked down at Rhian and smiled a little. "They're asleep now. We can go sleep on the other bed in there if you want, so we can be close."

"They're both being silly," Rhian said, peeking up at Ziazan. "They both made mistakes and are sorry, and they're together again, so why do they still feel bad? The guilt just drags the sadness on and on." She paused for a moment to let out a long, loud yawn, then suggled comfortably in Ziazan's arms. "Yes, please."

"I don't really know why they're still sad, wean," Ziazan sighed. "Maybe because they both did something wrong and they both hurt the other. Sometimes sad things are hard to stop being sad about because they're afraid of what it means and afraid it will happen again." The Alter stood up, cradling Rhian to its chest, and walked to the bedroom.
Entering, it reached out and gently shut the cabinet doors to give the humans more privacy, then crawled on the spare bed. Setting Rhian down, Ziazan stretched out next to her and yawned. "It's good to feel others in the vardo again."

"People can be silly," Rhian murmured, snuggling close to Ziazan as she was carried into the bedroom. Once they were both on the bed she tugged herself over close to her sibling and placed a wing over it, smiling a little. "I was still with Ellandra when we left, but I missed feeling you and Faolan."

"It was odd not having your presence here, too, or Mama's," Zia admitted. "I had Lauss around a bit, but his essence is not the same. Plus, his thoughts were mostly of you and it made me miss you."

Rhian blinked a little, and yawned sleepily. "Lauss-teacher missed me? And you missed me?" She wasn't reallly asking so much as half-echoing her sibling, already dropping into the sleep of the weary.

"Of course we did. You're family," Zia chuckled, stretching out on its back, tucking its wings under itself. After a few moments, it rolled onto its side, curling up and putting its thumb in its mouth.

Rhian snuggled up to Ziazan, echoing it with a faint, "....family...." before her eyes finally slipped closed and she dozed off, happy to be surrounded by those considered to be her family.

The Alter was already snoring softly, sucking it's thumb, it's free arm around its little sister. Somehow in the fuzziness of its drifting thoughts, it knew tomorrow would be better.
