Who else has read the manga special chapters "Gunmetal Hound", which have Tres as the main protagonist? I've just read them, and I found them pretty interesting as they show that yes, he does have emotion. He contemplates his own existence, cherishes his memories of Caterina and is enraged when the bad guy, Duo, insults these memories. So, does he really have emotion, or was is just Duo's mind virus screwing with his brain?

I think he has emotions, because it gives hints of emotions through out the manga, anime and the novels. Tres is a complex character that not many people understand, everyone thinks he's just a machine, but as you said in the special chapters, he starts to act somewhat human with the emotions and the contemplating.

Yeah. And is it me, or does he seem to be...almost in love with Caterina? I mean, he keeps saying that he's her posession, so he's pretty much devoted himself to her, right? I dunno.

Mika VonHellson tres is machine guy who does his mission and cant do much not smile Yeah, he can't do much apart from blowing people's heads off with massive weaponry. And he's still really emotional, as shown here -> http://www.onemanga.com/Trinity_Blood/35.2/13/

Yeah but most of the guys are like that, in the novels Caterna is describe as a beauty that has no rivals or something like that. With the whole love thing he prolly is.

Tres is undoubtedly in love with Caterina Sforza, but he would not admit it because he's a "machine not a man" (denial with self) and Caterina is in love with Abel.
It's been pretty obvious novel (where William quotes as his pastime "follow Lady Caterina around") and manga (since volume 2 where Abel says he's homesick). He's willing to sacrifice Carthago lives to save her, he's willing to let Abel or Esther killed if that clears the charges against her. Tres is devoted himself on her.
