Skadi Sundermount BogiePop Skadi Sundermount BogiePop Skadi Sundermount BogiePop there are some character traits that are view and geared to femininity, witch would seem missed placed or down right inappropriate on a male like character. Gen 1 Arcee is basically the motherly archetype, could you imagine BB or Springer watching over Daniel the same way she did talk2hand Blackarachnia/Airachnid and Starscreem sher alot of the same traits. throughout history females were not seen as a str8 up threat, gearing more to under handed tactics, like poisons, that men just couldint do to "honor codes" and such. not being sexist if you try replace any fembot with a manbot to do the same role it would just be odd and out of place Its seems like the only dif between mechs and femmes are based off entirely sexist generalizations. Although...Bulkhead in the new TF razz is probably the most nurturing of the lot of the Autobots. i dont see Bulkhead as nurturing on prime, jakes mother fills that roll, bullhead is the kindhearted big guy archetype His relationship with Miko strikes me as very fatherly. The way he treats the other kids also seems very caring and protective. i see your your point, but to me bulkhead (and BB to) comes off like a big brother, hes your friend and will watch out for you, much like a father figure, but in my opinion Prime and ratchet are fatherly types, there rolls are to guide and protect, less there to be your friend and more to insure the safety of the "family". Father = leader Family = team Ratchet reminds me more of a disgruntled uncle. xp he so is that why i love him

i think a lot of guys hate Starscream for the same reason a lot of gals love him and that is that girls identify with Starscream.
no lie, when i was first introduced to G1 as a girl, i immediately sided with the Decepticons because i thought they had the only "girl robot".
then the femmes where introduced and i was like...oh...Starscream is supposed to be a boy?
and the thing is, i didnt like the femmes. at all. i think they were overall way more popular with the boy fans than the girls watching the show, who still sympathized and loved Starscream the best. the femmes felt more like what guys imagined a female robot to be like- all bright and bubble and occasionally sassy- while Starscream was more like what girl fans actually imagined a female robot to be like- terrifying and vulnerable in equal turns, underappreciated by the more readily identified as male co-workers, and blatantly flawed but still totally fab and hella fierce!

BogiePop i hate overdrive from cybertron she has the lags of a fem but the uperbody of a man shes like a trany of the transformers idk who you're talking about but i already like her just for those reasons. the fact that the male coded characters get such variation while the supposedly female ones were all slotted into the same barbie type frame annoys the hell out of me, ESPECIALLY when they tack tits onto them. that style of animation needs to burn in a fire. i want more frames like Overdrive, Strika, Javelin! if we simply MUST force genders onto transformers then i want them to show the nuance and individuality that comes with that.

and let me be clear: i am a girly-girl. i love sparkly, pastel, kawaii as ******** kind of things but thats not an attribution of my gender or visa versa.
tacking fake metal tits and a bubblegum pink paintjob onto something doesnt make it a girl!

Meirelle
Well... you go ranting all you want about boobs and stuff, but I've seen some pretty big packages on some of the mechs. 'Specially Optimus Prime.
....just sayin'. stare
girl dont even get me started on Megatrons trigger crotch! XD but yeah...ridiculous amounts of sexual dimorphism. though i must admit, i am a fan of the amazing rack on Prowl...but that at least looks like a proper giant alien robot thing, not just two random smooth bumps thats i guess are supposed to invoke breast but look more like nothing at all (except ridiculous).

Tfa Blackarachnia is one of my favourite bots (mech or femme) for those very reasons. I also love/hate Starscream for those reasons as well.
I love/hate him because he constantly back stabs Megatron, but he's such a huge character to the plot/compelling in his own right. I like characters that live on their own terms.

Seeing OP as an underdog was interesting but he also felt too much like a completely different character. Elita by contrast has always been a queen of gorilla warfare and I thought the role would have suited her better. not sure what that might have meant for Blackarachnia...Maybe she was formed from Sentinel instead? XD Or you know, just her own character... SPEAKING OF TFA CAMEOS! Have you seen... THIS!

I think that's what made her fall from grace/rise to the Decepticons so heartbreaking, to be honest. I would watch/read a series that was from her POV/as the main character, but that will literally never happen.
I really enjoyed Optimus being kind of an awkward, stuffy, by-the-books nerd. I could see him as an archivist.... I like when you can see the character develop. Seeing him break away from living/serving the Autobots by the numbers was fun.
The series cancellation was so upsetting.
Also, that Megatron was top-tier. Cunning, determined, ruthless and strong. Optimus standing up to him was some pretty brave/foolish stuff.
Also I had not seen that cameo! That is super neat, good eye!

i am strangely endeared with the character development with Arcee. namely, her anger issues. its rather cathartic.

i used to hate the femmes back when they were all basically the same sexist barbie doll model and would have rather had no female cybertronians at all then that mess but now that they're moving away from that standard im actually really digging it.
