It was late afternoon and darkness was just beginning to fall. Most parents of toddlers would be thinking about how soon their little ones would be going to bed. Blaice was not most parents though and Iggy was not most children. The seraph woman was still a bit out of sorts after having received her new son but she was trying o do her best by him. That meant adapting to his schedule which with a will o the wisp meant nothing happened till it started to get dark.

Iggy having never known anything but being nocturnal was running about the small park chasing after fireflies. The small bugs with their on and off again glowing amused the boy who also glowed, both child and insect faint though as the night was young yet. The ghostly green orbs that floated around Iggy though were plenty bright regardless of the time.

Amy pulled the shawl around her a little bit tighter as she stepped into the park: she felt ridiculous, and the way some of the leaving families were watching her? Well, it really made it apparent that she was not being a good parent, in their eyes. Still... her eyes darted to Maya who had quickly tried to run on ahead, her skin glowing as if finally, finally it was time to play. She sighed, looking around for someplace to sit. Ah that bench would do.

Maya in the meanwhile looked around, preferring the cool, balmy heat of the night against her skin. She paused then, when she saw a series of glowing things at the side of her vision. What WAS that? Turning around, she spotted the surrounded by fireflies, and something that looked like fireflies but bigger.

What was that?

Taking a couple of cautious steps foreword, she paused. They were bright! Like little moons caught in orbit. How fascinating.

Cloudy blue eyes caught sight of the red haired girl and Iggy raised a hand to wave. Though he was still a bit tired he grew stronger as the seconds ticked by and Iggy had energy enough to chase fire flies and perhaps make a friend. " Hi" The green orbs swirled around him then moved behind him so as not to obscure the small boy's vision though he did not control them.

Standing near the bench Blaice watched Iggy carefully, it wasn't safe to let him out of her sight, he might lead some poor other child off into the middle of the street for all she knew. The angel would have liked to believe her little one was too gentle for that for he'd never showed malice before but you never knew with his kind, or so she'd researched.

Maya beamed. He'd noticed her! Raising her hand and mimicking the action he had done, she nodded her head rather rapidly. "Hi." she echoed, taking a couple of steps forewords. He was still too far away to see properly: she wanted to see what he attracted all those big white glowy things! Her steps sped up: not quite a run, but more than a walk. A fast walk, maybe? Pointing to one of the orbs she smiled. "Pretty." she said. She wanted one. It looked fun!

Amy sighed, stretching her legs in front of her. So the girl had met someone? He was very unusual looking: but then so was Maya. She wasn't exactly what anyone would call human.

Iggy smiled "Soul" he explained. He didn't know how to explain it but he knew what the glowy orbs were and why they followed him.. sort of. There was a lot the boy still didn't understand about himself but he was too young to really question it. There was another glow he knew, one that came from his hands but different from the one that emanated from his skin. It was different though and he'd only seen it once briefly so he couldn't show it to this girl.

" I'm Iggy"

Soul? Maya frowned, trying to place the exotic word. She couldn't really: sounded familiar in the 'might have overheard on TV' kind of way, but that was it. Still, it sounded pretty cool. She was sure she'd figure it out later. Or she'd ask Amy about it at home.

"I'm Maya." she answered shyly, taking a couple of steps closer. She didn't have anything decorative that was as cool as that. "Wanna play?"

The blond boy smiled and nodded "What game?" He gestured towards the fire flies. "Catch?" It was good fun to chase the glowy bugs and they couldn't hurt you when you cupped your hands around them. Maya looked about his size so she should be able to catch them too, though he supposed they could play a different game, even if he didn't really know many games. Iggy was young still and just starting to really explore the world around him in the hours that he was awake; there was so much still to learn and do.

It seemed they'd be here a while, Blaice moved to go sit on the nearby bench and give her feet a rest. She was happy and yet nervous about Iggy playing with the red haired girl, she wanted him to make a friend but she was also nervous about what sort of things might happen if his nature took over.

Catch? That sounded like a wonderful idea! Especially if it involved the fire flies. She beamed as she nodded her head at the boy: they seemed to understand each other very well! Amy didn't like having her run around too much at home: something about a bull in a china shop, which she didn't really understand. Was she the bull, and why was it inside a shop from China? Funny, adults were. "Yeah!" she chirruped, nodding her head.

Maya ran towards the fire flies in a movement that could awkwardly be called a run only because there was a little bit of speed. There was some waddling as well: the party dresses Amy liked to dress her in was't exactly the best when it came to outside activities.

Amy sighed as she watched Maya entertain herself with the other boy. She wasn't what Amy had expected a strigoi to be: in fact, it had vaguely alarmed her a little bit too much at the thought she'd be raising one of those. But Maya was different, bless her little heart. "Don't go too far!" she called out. "I'm here if you need me."

Iggy grinned glad his game had been acceptable. The small blond watched Maya for a moment then chased after her and the fireflies. Soul orbs floated around him and blinked their own nonsensical patterns as he waved his chubby fingered hands about and tried herd the speedy glowing bugs where he wanted them. " They're tricky"he giggled softly, tricky but worth it if you could catch one and have it light up your whole hands for a second.

"The fireflies are probably in more danger of being hurt." Blaice murmured with a small smile. Then again the small flickering bugs were agile and fast so chances of them being caught were slim even with two children after them. Well at least it would be hard to catch and hold them anyways since Iggy had already proven he could get his hands around them a little.
