The trek to the other side of the island had been longer than he expected. There were so many different areas to make a home for oneself. Now Braden realized just how sheltered he and his sister had really been. He'd met so many different Saigh, different wildlife, but he stuck to himself, as hard as it was. He was tempted time and again to start a family with someone other than his twin sister. He loved her, yes, but he was a male, and when a female was in season, his hormones ran wild. Luckily, he kept himself away from them and in check when he was near them.
He often heard wings beating that sounded much different than a birds wings, but when he looked around, there was nothing there. Those thoughts filled Braden's head since he'd just gotten back into familiar looking areas. His sister was near, he could feel her. But about a days away. Oh, his feet were so tired right now.
Being that it was late in the afternoon and he hadn't stopped since before the sun came up, Braden was tired and hungry, not to mention parched. But he didn't know the game around here, didn't know where there was water. He did know that he could rest where he was now, maybe nap a little bit. That sounded wonderful, napping. And so he did lay down, but sleep wouldn't come for him. Much too hungry.

Aileena had been out hunting and such things, but nothing all that seriously. She had eaten yesterday and so wasn't all that inclined to actually catch anything, and for some reason she just wasn't in the mood to go herb hunting, so instead she had really just been exploring. This meant that she had gotten herself into an area of the plains that she didn't actually know all that well, which peaked her interest slightly. She had then started looking around with a bit more direction, since there might have been new herbs in this area that she could investigate, or perhaps some of the herbs that were rarer in her northern area were more common here. In either case, she was paying far too much attention to the smell of plantlife to notice the over tones of a male Saigh in the area until she had nearly stumbled onto him.
Stopping in her tracks, only a very short distance away from the light brown male, Ailee's eyes were wide in her surprise. She hadn't really thought of anyone living in this area besides smaller rodents, so seeing a Saigh laying down in the grass was a bit odd to her, and she felt almost intruded upon, though she did have to remind herself that she was the one doing the intruding. Just the same, perhaps if she stayed very still, he wouldn't notice her presence....

Of course the brown male didn't notice her; he was tired, nearly asleep and in a fair amount of pain. His knees throbbed and his muscles ached in a way that he hadn't ever felt before. Perhaps this trip had been a bad idea. Maybe he should have stayed with his beloved twin. Her name passed his lips once before he shifted around, getting even more comfortable, stretching out to his full length on the ground. Of course something felt off to him; but he didn't know quite what it was.
He shifted again, scowling to himself before opening his eyes and blinking at the blue female quite near. Startled, Braden got up and scrambled back a bit, blinking widely, owlishly at her. "......Gotta watch a guy wallow in pain?" He asked, trying to keep the squeak from his voice.

Curses, her plan had failed. Having been just about to sneak away quietly when the male opened his eyes, Aileena was just as surprised as him, and squeaked a bit as she backed away quickly. "N-no... I d-didn't m-mean t-to. I-I j-just w-was exploring a-and f-f-found you." Her excuses started brokenly tumbling out of her mouth as she hoped to evade any further anger from the male, but then her brain caught up to her and she realized that she could ingratiate herself to him another way. "Y-you're hurt? I-I can help with p-pain.... I'm good with herbs...." The blue femme's eyes held a shimmer of hope in them, and it was obvious to any who looked at her that she honestly did want to help. Herbs were what had really brought her upon him anyway, so maybe she was meant to help him! He didn't look that badly hurt though, she didn't see or smell blood, which probably meant that his pain was the sort of muscle pain that happened from time to time. Ailee didn't fully understand where pain came from, but she had figured out fairly well how to ease it.

Good with herbs? That would actually... help him out an awful lot. He shifted so he was showing his good manners and bowed his head, a wince upon his face when he stood up. "That... would be very helpful. I ache from walking so much. If you have a mixture for that, I'll help you find the herbs you need?" He couldn't accept her help and offer nothing in return.
His ears flicked before he laughed weakly. "Sorry. I'm being rude. I'm Braden... I've been journeying all over this island, as far as I can." It was true. He hadn't gotten too far, but it was far enough for him to say he'd been everywhere. No one else had to know he hadn't.

A small smile came to Aileena's face when the male seemed to warm to her a bit. At least he didn't look like he was going to be mean to her anymore, and that was a good start. And he wanted her help! Ailee had found that she actually really liked to help other Saighneian with their aches and pains, and she was much better at find and mixing herbs than at having conversations, so she usually made a much better impression when there was healing to be done. "O-oh, n-no, it's all right. Everything I need is near by, I can smell it, and you look like walking might hurt you more. You should rest." She had been about to turn and run to a nearby bush she had spotted as she had been walking this way, when he introduced himself. Her small smile brightened and she looked back happily, "I'm Ailee! It's n-nice to m-meet you!" That was a normal thing to say upon meeting someone new wasn't it? Well, it was true in any case. Turning back and trotting quickly to the bush, she started to hunt around underneath it for a small plant that usually grew beneath these leafy bushes, it would be just the thing to help his muscle pains.

He laid back down when she went off and he smiled. Cute name... She has an interesting stutter... he thought to himself, a warm chuckle coming from his throat.
In all honesty, walking would probably be more painful than helpful. He'd be slow and moaning the whole time about how bad it hurts. This was the first time anyone's ever offered him help. Was he mean looking or something? No doubt he didn't look pleasant when he was in pain, but still. It was clear he was in pain, right? Right. He yawned waiting for her to get back, putting his head on his front paws, ears drooping. Nearly asleep again.
