The nine basic principles of Satanism as written by Anton Szandor LaVey, founder and first high priest of the Church of Satan.
1. Satan represents indulgeance, instead of abstinence!
2. Satan represents vital existence, instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom, instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!
5. Satan represents vengeance, instead of turning the other cheek!
6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, insead of concern for psychic vampires!
7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, by his "divine spiritual and intellectual development," has become the most vicious animal of all!
8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as the all lead to physical, mental, or emptional gratification!
9. Satan has been the best friend the church has ever had, as he has kept it in buisness all these years!

That's amazing, Lazarus, I'm kinda at a stand still in what I believe but I'm intrested in Satanism but I have to keep it quiet cause my parents are hard core christians.

The thing most people don't know about Satanism, you can't actualy convert. I would recomend reading the satanic bible by Anton LaVey. you can order it in to pretty much any bookstore.

If you cannot covert to Satanism, then how does one become a Satanist in the first place? Do you just have to be lucky and get Satanist parents or something?

From the basic principles, Satanism looks like someone just really didn't like what the Bible had to say and decided to gave Satan a representative existence instead of a literal existence. It's like they wanted to be rebels, but didn't exactly succeed.
