Ive been scanning the rp forums and most of them ask for a well decorated post . Does anyone know of a good guide or can help me out by telling me the basics?

Yea, decorating your posts, it would involve adding pictures, quotes, lyrics, fancy little doo-dads, but really, it's up to the person doing the posting to determine the extent.
Myself, I go with a sort of status bar, like this:
*character name here*
*some sort of location indentifier*
*titles or unit*
*health status*
*mental status if magic or physics, or even those really detailed Rps need 'em*
*emotinal status*
*condition, such as poisoned, bleeding, fatigued, etc*
maybe a picture of the person the status bar is for. I've done some detailed ones where I pretty much mimic the very same status window you see in a game, and put it into post format, though I do need to get around to making it an image, just to make it a mite easier on me....
But again, decor on a post is on hte person making it. I've seen some with just a simple quote, others, your trying to find out where the post itself is.
