Name: (character's name) Tansy Mullein
Age: 31
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 175, (but says she's 150)
Wand: Rosewood, unicorn hair, 8 inches, "flexible"
Physical Description: see below
Personality: A jolly, pleasant woman who never fails to give advice, whether it's wanted or not. Prof. Mullien has sharp ears so be wary when talking in class that she'll hear every word of it, and may even join you. Mullein is a fun teacher but not to be trifled with. She'll know when you're playing silly buggers with her, and come down on you like a ton of Dragon Dung. When not being a busybody, she's constantly worrying about her weight, that she's getting too old to find a husband (tick-tick), and that the kids don't think she's "cool,' anymore.
If you come to her office, she'll always have tea and biscuits.
History: Tansy is a native of Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria (The Lake District). She was the daughter of a Muggle and a Squib, who were very surprised at their daughter's magical ability. Having been raised as a muggle until she was eleven, Tansy has full knowledge of the muggle world and during the summer holidays helps run her mother's muggle herbalist shop and tea room.
Her school days were fairly uneventful, she had a small group of tightly-knit friends in Gryffindor House, but she mostly kept to herself. It was only as a teacher that she began to cast off her protective shell and became more outgoing. She now tries to be friends with everybody, whether they like it or not.
As far as the current crisis goes, Tansy is alert and aware, but tries not to think about it. Depressing news distresses her a great deal, so she has to occupy her thoughts with pleasant things, or else her feelings would interfere with her work.
Likes: Flowers and gardening (obviously), tea with biscuits, reading Witches Weekly, knitting (her speciality is tea-cozies), playing matchmaker with the faculty, reading murder mysteries,
Dislikes: Rude people, diets, violence, maths, anti-muggle sentiments, the fact that her clothes never stay tidy after a day's work, wizard rap, non-fiction books, the fact that the wizarding world has yet to invent the magical equivalent of the telly.
Position: Professor of Herbology
Year: Teacher for seven years
Pets: none, but she does have an impressive Philodendron that is threatening to take over her office
