Aliases/ Nicknames: Yuu. She also likes to further amuse herself by using the kanji for Yuu that means 'eerie'.
Physical Description:
True to her name which translates as 'moonflower', Yuugao is extremely paleskinned, looking as though the sun has never touched her skin. Her hair is black, long and straight with the barest hint of sheen. Both skin and hair serve to bring out the color of her eyes - a deep, clear red.
She is not overly tall, standing at just around 5'4", but she carries herself with a serenity and pride that makes her seem several inches taller. Her shinigami robes are always kept neat and clean, but the sleeves and bottom hem are a little bit longer than regulation, adding a touch of modesty. Around her neck is a string of quartz prayer beads strung with a comma-shaped magatama of black jade.
Zanpaktou: Akiouji (Autumn Prince)
In its unreleased state, Yuugao's zanpakutou Akiouji is a very simple, straight-to-the-point katana that you'd see anywhere. No unique decorations to really be honest; the hilt is wrapped in stark, unrelieved black ribbon, with a bit of bronze underneath the wrappings and around the base of the blade (although that last is not visible unless she unsheathes the sword.)
The guard is coarsely reminiscent of a snowflake, or perhaps a maple leaf in its design. The black tempered steel is six-sided, with curious angular cutouts.
The saya is also black, but it's rather sleek and shiny - Yuugao spends a great deal of time keeping the wooden sheath polished and free of nicks. After all, a sword is reflective of its bearer's state, yes?
Uniqueness is only seen when he is removed from his sheath. Instead of the usual shiny gray steel, Akiouji's blade is tinted a dark copper shade, quite unlike anything else seen.
Spirit:
On the spiritual plane, Akiouji is an awesome forest kami, looking almost deer-like what with the large ears and magnificent antlers. He is clad in resplendent robes and is always accompanied by a calvacade of forest creatures. One usually hears him playing on his shakuhachi before one sees him. As he moves through the trees, the once-green foliage constantly turns to the browns and golds of autumn, seemingly out of respect to his presence.
Command: "Kawakase, Akiouji."

Shikai: Not Yet Achieved
In released form, Akiouji turns into a yari - a straight spear with a narrow head. From the end of the spear floats a very long tassel shaded in the blended colors of autumn.

Dessication:
When she flicks the spear, it summons a storm of maple leaves – but they're made out of glass. Stained glass, in particular, gleaming in all the colors of autumn. The glass leaves then spin around the target, slicing in and causing wounds. They 'dessicate' by causing the target to bleed out not just blood, but reiatsu.
However, the leaves are very fragile. One hit – possibly two- is all they can do before they break into pieces. However, this turns the field into a place completely covered with shattered glass. The glass Akiouji knows its master, and does not hinder her, but the opponents and anyone with her might have a hard time moving over the field of glass caltrops.
When Yuugao manages to hit a target with the spear, along with the physical damage all reiatsu is drained from that spot if she so chooses, leaving it spiritually 'brittle' and weakened. The hit spot takes on a stained-glass look. A followup attack will then do more damage, much like snapping a dead twig. This hit does not necessarily have to be done by Yuugao.
2. Akikaze - autumn wind:
Akiouji can take the reiatsu it has drained and use it against the opponent, using it to fuel savage blasts of cold wind.
3. Yukuaki - fleeting autumn:
The leaves can serve as a distraction, throwing up easily broken decoys as impressions through the leafstorms.
Bankai: Nekkyouakiouji - Crazy Autumn Prince
Special Accessories: The aforementioned string of prayer beads set with a single large magatama stone is always on her person, usually around her neck or dangling from the sash of her shinigami robes.

Personality:
Yuugao was a samurai's wife; as a result, she is quite content taking a backseat to those stronger than her, and has a hint of subservience to her gentle demeanor when she is around men. The old saying “When the wind blows, the willow bends while the oak breaks” is her motto. Firmness...yet flexibility, along with willingness to see the other person's point of view. Diplomacy and an instinct for mediation are in her blood.
Some look at her behavior and think she's something of a doormat, but Yuugao will politely (and she is ALWAYS polite) inform them she is no shrinking violet - samurai wives had to learn how to use weapons and defend their homes against invaders. She lost her life for that reason, thank you very much.
A lifetime, and then afterlife, in noble circles has given her a strong instinct for a paying attention to rank and authority; when she is around shinigami she is unfamilar with, she will ask who you are and how you fall in the scheme of things. Captains and Vicecaptains are obvious, but seateds? Not so much. She doesn't care to be asking who's in charge after things go pear shaped – and they so often do in this line of work.
