The day was cloudy, dull and gray looking with the promise of rain. Thunder rumbled gently in the distance, but Bailey didn't seem to worried. She'd found a good shelter for the night, near the stream, in a hollow tree. It was funny how she'd managed to find it. She accidentally bumped into the tree and got her paw stuck when she righted herself. So now she was off hunting for something to eat. She could only get small pray still, like rats or birds, but it would make due until her twin came home.
Torix stretched lazily as he was walking along the water. He seemed to always run into someone in these areas. He stretched before yawning. Rain for some reason always made him sleepy. When he spotted another figure. Ears perked in curiosity.

More thunder made her look up from the spot she'd been sniffing and found a figure from a distance. Instinct told her to flee, but she was curious. Her brother had told her to make friends if she could. Still, the female stood hesitantly, biting the inside of her cheek.
Torix was still walking towards the figure eyes sweeping the area before whistling and smiling. "Hi there." He said a bit after the whistle. He wondered who this one was. He didn't recall the colors of anyone having been met.

The whistling definitely caught her attention. She watched the figure draw nearer and then it spoke. "Hi," Bailey said with a small, embarrassed look, looking around before finally looking back to him. "....I-I'm Bailey.." She figured she'd get this out of the way; name exchanging often came late when she spoke to someone for some reason.
He chuckled softly before settling down for a seat. "Name's Torix" He said after a second of looking her over. He smiled softly stump of a tail flickering, "Nice colors you have there miss." He nodded softly before looking up at the sky and it's grumbling. "What are you doing out this dismal day?"

Had he really just complimented her colors? She gave a little chuckle and a small shrug to his question. "Hunting..? Gotta eat something and I'm hoping I can find something before the rain sets in for the day," she murmured softly, hardly audible above the thunder.
Torix looked around and looked into the river, "Well looks like there's some fish...."
He seemed to debate a second before grinning, "I could maybe catch you one or two if you'd like." He seemed to peek down into it. "Shouldn't be too much trouble."

Fish... fish sounded real good right now, what with the rumble of her stomach and all. But the winds were keeping the river pretty swift. "I can fish too, for you? I'm sure you've a den you need to feed." Of course, Bailey had nothing to back that up with; just an assumption.
Torix shook his head, "Nah it's just me, myself and I." His stump flickered as he watched the river, thinking it shouldn't be too hard even with the swift water. "Shame there's not a pond around here it'd be a little more safe." He chuckled before looking up and down river spotting a tree growing sideways over the water. "Though that tree looks pretty safe to fish from."

She spotted the tree he was talking about and hesitated again. Really, fishing on a tree, over a river wasn't something she was too keen on, ut what chice did she have? She was hungry and wanted to fish for him. "Come on then," she said weakly, padding slowly. Bailey's paws didn't drag or anything, but her steps were careful, slow and almost meditative. Like she was still thinking. "I only need a fish... A single one."
Torix nodded and grinned, "Don't worry I can get it for you." He nodded, "Just be ready to catch it, okay?"
He'd had his share of fish getting away because no one was there to keep it on the banks. As they reached the tree he looked around at the roots and the tree itself. He was looking for something certain, and one thing was for sure around the tree since it'd grown into the water was slowing the flow around it down a bit.

When he took the lead, Bailey nodded and followed ehind him, much more comfortable than leading. "Just.. don't fall in, OK? I can swim, but... I don't want to get you hurt!" She felt horrible for having him get the fish, but he said he was fine with it. Why doubt him?
Her own nub flicked carefully as she peered into the river, lapping at the flowing waters with a low hum and purr. It was cold, just what she needed on a warm day like today. "Though... maybe getting in the shallows afterward would help."
Torix nodded chuckling, "Yeah I'll be careful." He grinned. He finally found what he was looking for, some of the roots had 'footholds' staying near the tree he waded out just a little bit keeping his rear paws under the roots to keep from loosing his footing,.
"Yeah it's still kinda shallow here." He waited and watched the fish, as he waiting for a few fish started to gather around and he took a paw and threw one out towards Bailey.

When the fish was thrown at her, she squeaked and made sure it fell on the ground before holding it down with one of her paws. That was a lot faster than she expected, actually. It took her a long time to fish! "M-maybe I should find you next time I want fish," she said with a little smile, feeling the thing squirm under her paw, wanting to get back to the water.
Torix chuckled and shook his head, "Sometimes it takes a bit longer, all this fast water gets them confused I think."
He attempted to smack another one for himself out and missed before sticking his tongue out at the fish.
"Silly thing saw me coming." He smacked at another one before ducking his face into water grabbing a fish and walking out with it. Shaking off.

"Of course it saw you coming," she said with a soft laugh, looking down to the fish under her paw and grinned. It wasn't flopping around to much now, but enough for her to know it was still alive. Laying down right where she was, she put a paw on it's head, and then slid the other down to it's tail and started to take a ite out of the middle. "Mmm... Big fish are always the best," she said in a way of a compliment.
Torix nodded dropping the fish before putting a paw on it and shaking off again. Before sitting down and doing the same.
"Indeed they are." His tail flickered happily.

Bailey was more than content to eat just like this, next to a new friend, and get her fill. Thunder, however, didn't like her plans and soon it was crashing louder and closer to this part of the island. Looking up, alarmed, she frowned and sighed. "I am afraid we have to part ways here, Torix..." She said sadly. She didn't want to get caught in it.
He chuckled, "It would seem so." He stretched, "I'll talk to you later then?"
"Of course!" She beamed happily at him, picking up what was left of her fish. The brown, speckled female bounced away with her dinner, in better spirits than she could remember being since her brother left.
Torix headed off the other way with his fish to find a nice place to hide while the storm blew over.
