Marissa was not a fighter. For this reason, she hung back towards the end of the meager group, one hand clinging to her skirts and the other to her enchanted seed box; which, she realized frustratedly, was seeming less and less useful. She reached behind her and nestled it into her rucksack next to Kale, who was sleeping soundly. She started when her hand brushed the boy's hair. She had almost forgotten he was there, and became suddenly engrossed in being as quiet as possible, lest she wake him.

She slowly and nervously moved herself next to Emelyn. "She looks in pain," She whispered, almost inaudibly.

Mirela sapphire eyes widened as she took in Lorelei's writhing form. Whats happening to her? the young woman found herself asking, although Emelyn had already given voice to the question. Her hold upon the lantern didn't lessen even though the fae had claimed that they meant no harm. Mirela didn't trust them, although she felt she couldn't be blamed for that. They had done something to Lorelei, to Mirela's family and she wasn't about to trust someone who could do such a thing.

"Why can't you risk bringing her back?" Mirela asked, her voice sounding strong despite the fear that resided within her. "If you did this why can't you fix it?" she continued, not about the let these creatures of the hook without them first fixing Lorelei.

"She asked that we let her sleep. So I put her to sleep so that she couldn't wake up - it's what she asked for," explained Ammesien, who sounded distressed. Upset. "I'd wake her up, but that'd be too dangerous! She's so deep asleep that if I woke her, it might hurt her to the point of death." Ammesien hung her head, biting her lower lip. "I told her there might be nightmares, but they seem so bad... and I don't want her to be having nightmares forever!"

"Then why did you do this to her?" her 'sibling' asked, glowering. "You're such a foolish girl!"

"She was so upset..."

The other faerie sighed, closing its eyes and drawing a deep breath. "Stupid, stupid girl." Opening its eyes, it looked up at the gypsies once more, holding out one long hand. "Come here, come here. I promise not to harm any of you. It'd be best for all of us if I just get this all over.

"If you want, you can just take her back with you. She will be in this coma for the a very long time - her life is suspended, in a way. Eventually, though, the stress of this nightmare - and it will probably never stop on its own - will wear her down to the point of death. It won't be pretty.

"As my sister says, we could wake her up, but it could kill her, or leave her dead in the mind for the rest of her natural life.

"There is, however, one last option." It raised an eyebrow. "But I'm not sure you will be brave enough for it."

"Why would she ask for something like that?" Mirela wondered, casting Voltaire a questioning look. Whatever had happened must have been most serious if Lorelei opted to be put into a permanent sleep. As the ethereal being extended a hand toward the gypsy group, Mirela took a tentative step forward. Her eyes narrowed at the beings as their options were explained.

The first option didn't sound all that enticing and Mirela couldn't bare the thought of her sister gypsy withering away before them, while they were forced to stand idly by and do nothing. The second option sounding slightly more promising, although it seemed that the risk far outweighed the chance of a promising outcome.

"What's the final option?" Mirela asked, sounding a tad fearful as to what the last option would be.

Voltaire had been aware the whole time this conversation was going. He had stopped moving as soon as the he heard Emelyn's voice speaking to something. He even followed them, but even as he came to look upon Lorelei his face went very grim and guilt ridden as he listened to them all talk.

He had driven her to this state, it was all his fault, and as a man of responsibility he ought to fix it.

Finally after a moment of inner struggle Voltaire spoke up,"Yes, what is the Final option? I will do whatever needed."

He was no martyr, but he didn't like to see his friends suffer as Lorelei was suffering.

Pan was sitting by assessing the situation in her brain. She had no clue what to do, what she could do. There wasn't any herb she knew of that could undo the effects of fae magic.

"Tell us, we'll do it. We may not be as weak as you think." She said to the fae. She hated it when they medled into the affairs of mortals like this, nothing good came from it. Pan knew the fae only wanted to help but she didn't know the dark within a human mind. "And please restrain from eternally putting any mortal asleep again." She added at the end.

"Well... you could always go into her mind, find her, and convince her it's all a dream. In all likelihood, she's forgotten the line between reality and fantasy - that's what keeps her from waking up. That is, if Ammesien did everything properly."

Ammesien winced. Then she looked at Pandara, inclining her head to one side, gently. "I promise..." she murmured. "This was a disaster."

The other faerie allowed the Ammesien to finish speaking before continuing. "It would not involve putting you to sleep like has happened to her, but you will have to leave your bodies for a while. That entails some risk. You'll have to find a way to make sure you remember that you have to come back."

His guilt for having driven to this outweight the risk involved, and so he nodded a bit, "I know for sure that I will do this. She is my friend. I would risk life and limb for friends." He replied once everything again became silent so that he could be heard. Annjette wouldn't be too pleased with his way of talking, but somehow he knew he'd be coming back to her and very alive and quite well. All the wiser for his experience that he had.

Or was it that he hoped? Either way it made no sense to try and distinguish between the two.

Emelyn stood her ground, not wanting to come closer to the strange clearing. She turned, not to the faeries, but to her companions.

"I don't know her very well," she said softly, "and I don't know how much help I could be convincing her. I think some of us should stay behind to get help if it's needed." Her voice dropped to an even sub-whisper, more breath than sound escaped her lips as she continued... "And I don't trust these faes.... I will stay alert and watch them."

Marissa stood in contemplation. She, too, didn't know Ely very well. "Shall we make it two and two?" she asked meekly. "I could stay behind with Emelyn, watch these suspicious characters. Of course, if you need me..." she paused, and then hesitantly turned to the faeries.

"Is there some way I can keep in contact with them? In case they need me?" She asked, eyes darting back and forth, avoiding eye contact as much she could.

"You will not need to stay here with us," the male fae said, and bent down to pluck a few flowers from the ground. He held them out to Ammesien, who touched her fingers to their petals and turned them to glass. He then extended the flowers towards the gypsies.

"Put yourself in a comfortable place, and make sure you're touching the girl," he explained, nodding at Lorelei, who Ammesien was lifting. "Have that one - " a nod to Emelyn - "place these on your third eye. You will find yourself inside the constructs of the red-head's mind. You may leave whenever you choose, simply by wishing yourself back to the land of the waking and closing your eyes. However, this won't work if you even begin to feel that her dreams are the real world. Be careful.

"The only way to bring her back is, as I said, to make her realize that it's only a dream. Then she may leave just as you can, just with a little more concentration."

Ammesien carried Lorelei over to the group - specifically, to Voltaire. "Here," she murmured, softly. "I'm sorry... I really am."

((Okay. Due to Oqaia's request to get this thing moving or put it on hold...

I've decided I'll be canceling Sleep Eternal.

I'm not doing a good job moderating it, but it's not something somebody else could mod with any intricacy. After all, I can't explain what Lorelei's mind is like in full detail, and I don't want somebody else making that up.

There's also no way, even if people posted more frequently, to finish this in a few days. This was supposed to be the lead-up to the action, but it took a lot longer than I expected.

The option to put it on hold doesn't seem like it'd work. First off, I, personally, dislike time-warping characters, especially around such a big event for them. I have no idea how your actions will shape Lorelei and help her grow. *shrugs* Second, I have the feeling that if this were postponed... it'd just die anyway. Wouldn't start back up, really.

So. I'm sorry that I wasted your time, everybody. I guess I'll leave the RP modding to Oqaia in the future.))
