I'm gonna be honest.

I would like to think that I have a reasonably high IQ, or at least an average amount of it, but I only bought the first book because I thought the cover was pretty.

That's all I liked about the series--the publisher's choice of pictures for the covers

Otherwise, see Cathartic Denouement, Cyrus_the_Blackheart's list of dislikes, and Idiosyncratic Solar's posts for my entire opinion. (Because listing it here would just be redundant.)

I didn't vote in the poll, because I dislike Twilight, but I like vampires. Real vampires that is, the kind that are evil (or at least selfish and violent) and burn when they walk into sunlight not sparkle.

Anyway, I found Twilight to be boring, badly written and the characters annoying pieces of cardboard.

I have read Twilight and I don't hate it but the series wasn't something I would actually say was good. For starters, Edward doesn't even have a personality...he's just a collection of dialogue that girls want to hear said to them...but he has no character..he's just a nonetity that exists to love Bella...this makes female readers want him because they all want someone to say the things he does to them....if he was given any particular character traits he wouldn't suit everyone...everyone is attracted to a different sort of person. Whether this was intentional on the author's part I don't know.

If all you want is a "popcorn read" then the book can be classed as good..but if you want something substantial then I would say it's bad. I wouldn't call it a bad book overall because I think it serves it's purpose..it isn't intended to be a really intelligent book...I think all books are good if they serve the purpose they were written for...you can't call a comic book bad because it isn't an intelligent read...so the same applies to Twilight in my opinion.

Everything in it is over the top...the romance is movie romance not real romance...which has the problem of perhaps causing young teenage girls to have expectations in real life that are too high...but I actually think that the book promotes real love and waiting to meet the right person before you have sex. There's too much sex in the media that influences young girls so I'm quite glad a book that promotes real love has become popular. Whether or not Bella and Edward's love is a true expression of what real love in real life is like is another matter...

I have no argument in really either direcetion. I don't like Stephanie Meyer's style of writing very much, but I like the theme of forever love. The storyline was... well... sorta pointless, but, again, I liked the undercurrants of the mood. The theme and mood was what I liked.
The movie was just retched. As a movie and in comparison to the book. Edward's acting sucked and Bella's personality was all wrong. She's supposed to be stronger in spirit and self-confidance but shy. All I saw was shy and jittery. And the movie was like "will it ever end?!" cuz there never seemed to really be any build or climax.
All in all, the book was OK and the movie was terrible.

That movie was WAY too long. Also, there were far too many times where Edward or Dr. Cullen's faces would be pale but their necks wouldn't. It looked so fake. I think I would rather watch the Inkheart movie than that again, unless I could make fun of it the entire time with some friends.

You know, this has got to be the first time I've heard someone complain about Bella's personality being wrong. I mainly heard people say that she just didn't have one, which is unfortunate for her actress who has to play that part. Same for Edward. (Didn't he look like he had to puke in that Biology class? xd )

I also hear that in the book the climax was skipped over because Bella gets knocked out. So, it seems to me like the movie was the one that had a climax, rather than the book. (Just, why is it that she doesn't tell the Cullens about James holding her mom hostage anyway? I know she was told to not bring them, but how would he know if she told them?)

One final thing: all the villains sparkle because they are all Twilight vampires and Twilight vampires, as demonstrated by Edward, sparkle. James just wasn't scary because of what SMeyer decided would make her vampires unique, which I despise.

Basically, this is something that I laugh at rather than take seriously if only due to the fact that I find to be so bad that it's hilarious. xd

Yeah. She gets knocked out before the fight really gets going.
So everything is explained to her (and the reader) later, thus making the "climax" anticlimactic.
