Hurting more than words could ever try to say
Once again my tears come raining down
Someday, though, I know that all I feel will be...
So I sing... this "never-ending" melody...
Hold you close within my heart and tomorrow will live again and maybe, just maybe. . .
You and I will live there as well. . .
I sing without you
I'll sing without you
Can't you feel my heart
Falling through the rain?

As someone who loves the Japanese language, I'm disappointed that they translated ひぐらしの鳴く頃に as Higurashi When They Cry. I'm sure people not learning Japanese or interested in the culture would understand the significance of the cicada, but even still, the title "When the Cicadas Cry" just sounds cooler.

Japan has a fascination with bugs (cicadas, kabuto, rhinoceros). Children beetle fight They draw on them for inspiration in anime, such as in Medabots (Medabee, Rokusho) or even in Pokemon (Heracross). You may have seen in anime that for the above beetles, Japanese people may paint a tree with honey water and wait for the insects to gather and lick at the tree before collecting them.

But for Japan, cicadas are a special bug in the summer, that emit a loud cry in hot temperatures. I've heard reports that they sound as loud as jackhammers. Children like to collect their shed skins. Cicada cry
