This is a Herd RP.
Why? What's the point? Well, I decided that my whole herd is ultimately telling a story. Instead of keeping up with their various moves and etc in my mind, I've decided to RP it out. Some of these logs may be used and many may never be use. But this is so I can build the character of babies and new ponies, so that I can figure them out before I toss them out. This way, I can know them better.
This is the story of Factions. Friendships ends, love blooms, and destiny changes things forever.

Nite Owl relaxed as the sun rose at it's highest. He leaned back, shutting his eyes.
"Slacking off again?"
It always happened. Aine always had to come pester him just as he was about to take a nap. He opened his eyes, squinting up into Aine's face above his. The sun was shining around her and into his eyes. "How can you be so hyper all the time? You're as bad as the kids..."
Aine leaned back, a pouting look on her face. "Just cuz you're getting old, doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to be young."
Nite Owl sighed. It was the same argument with her everyday. "Aine, we've talked about this. You're just full of too much energy. Why don't you--"
Arwen came up. Her hair was braided out of her face, a scowl on her visage. "Aine, have you finished cleaning the houses yet?"
Huffing impatiently, Aine tossed her hair. "Fine...It's a conspiracy. Keep Aine in from the sun so she's miserable." Jerking the feather duster from Arwen's hooves, she walked off.
Nite Owl nodded to Arwen as she sat down beside him. "You can really handle her."
"She's like a kid." Arwen twirled her hair thoughtfully, "She'll never grow up and we'll always have to keep our eye on her. She's going to get in trouble one day."
Nite Owl sighed. "Yeah, probably sooner rather than later."

Yongnian looked off into the distance. His mind was wandering through possibilities though his body stood unmoving. He had tried to cease his affection for Arwen. He had tried in vain. He hoped one day that he could forget about her, but how could one forget an angel?
His next step was to plead to the counsel to become worthy of her. And it had failed. He would never become Exalted. The wings her love had given him would remain within and never make themselves visible without.
His eyes turned toward Arwen, she was taking care of Liadan and Arachne. The girls adored her. He looked at her glowing face and beheld a smile he had hardly ever seen.
Then his face darkened as he watched her.
He could see the intricate plans being laid, plans that he had missed until now.
Approaching Nite Owl, he spoke. "I need to leave."
Nite Owl placed the crib down he was working on, and looked up at Yongnian. This was something he had not expected. "When will you be back?"
Yongnian set his jaw. "I won't be."
Nite Owl was alarmed, he had no idea what had occurred. "Yon, we need you--especially now. Please, just thi-"
Yongnian cut him off. "You need my powers not me. I'm through here."
Nite Owl's face coloured in Anger. "What the hell does that mean? I saved you once before."
"And I will not forget that. But my debt is paid."
Nite Owl was taken aback. He had no idea that Yongnian had felt this way. "Do you think that you had a debt? That I wanted that? Was your friendship, nothing but a debt?" He looked at Yongnian for several minutes waiting for an answer. Bowing his head, he spoke lowly. "Be gone by nightfall, I will give you aid if you need it in a time of trouble. But do not return here otherwise."
Yongnian bowed his head and went to his room to pack.

Arwen had been looking for Aine for a good thirty minutes before finding. It was a highly unlikely situation. Aine was pouting and looked close to tears. Approaching her, as she would a child she spoke softly. "What's wrong dear?"
Sniffing a little Aine barely whispered, "Yonni's leaving."
Her brow furrowing, Arwen tilted Aine's face up to look at hers. "Yongnian is leaving?"
Aine nodded furiously.
Walking off at a fast pace, Arwen approached Nite Owl. He looked to be in a foul mood. Her heart trembled a little at losing her friend. But upon hearing Nite Owl's account of what had happened she was confused.
Yongnian had accused Nite Owl of dishonesty, of using him. But that was ludicrous--Yongnian wasn't that type of pony. He could be strict and stern about some things, but using people to further his own ends? He'd never do that.
In her wandering, she found herself standing outside of Yongnian's room. For a moment, she paused waiting to know what to say. But she was spared the task of actually saying anything first.
"Come to say goodbye, have you?"
Yongnian's voice made her turn around suddenly. She looked into his scowling face and all ideas or thoughts of asking him to stay fled. "So it's true?" Her voice was soft and low.
"That I'm leaving? That Nite Owl and I have parted ways....less than amicably? Yes." He shouldered past her into his room. He packed a few odds and ends. Knowing she was upset, he tried to fill the silence. "I'm moving to the desert. Going to start out on my own. Build a herd."
Arwen nodded as she swallowed. "Who's going with you?"
"No one. I'm going on my own."
"No. I'll come-"
Yongnian cut in tersley, "No. That's final."
Arwen sighed, feelings of hurt surfacing. "Have a safe journey." Lingering for a moment longer, she gaze at him before turning her back to head toward her room."

Hawthorne stood scowling with Veles. "This is ridiculous. Why are we even here?"
Veles tilted his head to listen to faint sounds carried on the winds. "We're here to plan, my dear, to plan."
Tossing her hair, Hawthorne sighed, "Couldn't we do that up in our castle?"
Laughing, Veles turned towards her. "Not if we want the pair. One of them is here. We have to be very careful to acquire the pieces we need."
"How long?"
"They've not yet grown." His voice was silky, making an almost hissing sound. A snake crawled up from the ground and hissed before slithering away. "Good news Hawthorne. The moment we've been hoping for has finally occurred. The factions begin..." Veles stood overlooking Nite Owl's Parliament, a malicious gleam in his eye.

Inebar sulked in the shadowy pool in the back of his cave. Hawthorne and Veles should have been back ages ago, but they weren't. He wasn't sure exactly why, but it pissed him off. He didn't particularly like to be alone too much, and here he was rather stuck with nothing to do.
Finally, hearing soft clicks, he turned with his drink in his hand to see Veles and Hawthorne coming in out of the rain. "It's about bloody time don't you think?"
Hawthorne rolled her eyes as she slipped into the water next to him. She was rather quiet as she took his drink.
Inebar glared, she'd actually dared to take his drink. Yet, before he could say a world Veles spoke.
"Leave it alone Inebar, leave it alone..." Veles looked out into the pouring rain. His plans were all falling into place. The dreams...the plans he had made for more years than he cared to admit were finally becoming real. They would soon be able to make their play, but in the meantime he had to keep Hawthorne and Inebar patient. They had been sent out to make connections with other ponies and they had. Now, he had to wait until all his plans came to fruitation. Everything had to go perfectly.
