Yeay!!! I am so excited that Camp is almost here!!! xd But I wondered if there is any interest in teaming up during the event?

I have joined the fitness camp, though i fear I may not find many warriors with whom to train and spar.

Whatsit, I think has joined Juvie Camp--which suits his mischief-making self. Perhaps they will keep him in line and prevent more disasters such as his Super-Grill fiasco of two years past.

Eirwyn, who has been a regular of the Truth About Timmy GCD thread for a long time, is in the Science Camp, and has started a very popular Doctor Who thread there.

I've joined the Rich Camp on this account. Just for kicks and giggles. Not sure where to put my two mules, though. Also I'm a little surprised there's no Band Camp!

Yeah, I'm in Juvie Camp--but so far I just hang around Eirwyn's Science Camp thread.

Ok. biggrin I think it is safe to believe that I should just watch-out for Old Farts where ever I hang out.

I know what you mean about band camp! It is definitely a cliche that I think they've overlooked. (I'm sure they think that those who were really looking for such a niche would feel almost as comfortable at Science Camp.) But what about Church Camp?!? (That was the only summer-camp I ever experienced. ~ I didn't get to go to Girl Scout Camp when my mom refused to allow me to sell cookies given that they are unmitigatingly "sugar = poison".) xd

I'm not worried because I'm pretty sure Church Camp and 80s movies left me without voids of culture. Plus it is not like Mom didn't support my going to Chico State (In my day, Chico was the party-est University in the US!) all four five years. xd But where do all we Bible-Thumpers go for Gaia Summer Camp?!? lol (I am really kidding about which camp to pick & casting for others' reminiscences about summer-camps . . .)

I never went to summer camp myself. Possibly, growing up on an isolated little island in Alaska has something to do with that. But, 80's movies have also left me feeling somewhat educated about the whole camp experience. xD I was in the Girl Scouts, but I had no idea there was a summer camp for them. My troupe did, however, spend our cookie selling money on a camping trip to Skagway, a cute little town that prides itself on its Gold Rush history. I mainly remember the old cemeteries, and going to an old-fashioned casino and saloon.

Also there was the time we all went to one of those photography places where you get dressed up in the clothing of that period and have an old-fashioned picture taken. It was fun at the time, but now as an adult it strikes me as a little weird that we were a group of 10-year old girls dressing up as saloon girls-- complete with feather boas and fish-net stockings, posing with one leg saucily exposed to show fake money shoved in a garter belt, and a fake gun lying on a table. Was all that the photographer's idea, or ours? I don't remember, but I sincerely hope it was ours. o__O;

LOL! biggrin I know!!! We danced a can-can of 10-year-olds! That can't be right!!! biggrin

I visited Skagway on my Alaska cruise in '06. Given that I live about 20 miles from the Gold Discovery site for the Californian Gold Rush, I was really excited to see those Gold Rush sites @ Skagway. My cruise partners (cousin & her friends from Texas) were not so interested & slept in while I woke up early for my tour. It was super fun & I even succeeded in panning for gold on my tour. xd

What do you think of the event?
I am sadly unimpressed with the battle mode and the items are too difficult to get--they usually award something every few levels, even if it is just a little gold, but now you have to do tedious battles until you earn XP to fight a boss just to gain a new level's abilities, and you get no items until you reach level 6! What's more, you CANNOT get all the items because your level 6 item depends on what camp you are battling when you level up. Each camp gives a different item at level 6. Then, when you reach level 8, you must fight the counselor of each camp to get all four level 8 items.
And the items are NOT very interesting, I fear.

I feel most guilty for not appreciating the work Fleep and the others did, but it simply is not silly and FUN as their events usually are.

Yeah, I'm nearly at level 5 and giving up for the night. It's just too time-consuming to sit there and click for 30 minutes to either defeat someone or level up, and then it's another eternity to beat the boss. D: So I don't think I'll be trying for all the items with all my accounts this time!

Energy seems to regenerate faster this time around though, which is nice. But I see you can't raise your health and energy maxes as you level up either? Or does that happen at the higher levels I'll probably never have time to reach? xD

I miss the teamwork of H2K7 & H2K8, when you could heal each other. And HP started low and increased with levels, which makes more sense.

And the attacks are nearly all ATTACKS, not PRANKS.
Hitting and kicking are not pranks!
