I don't know if anyone's posted this before but, doesn't the Wolfkin entry have too much info on the World of Dreams? Shouldn't it be a separate entry for it?

Gaidin
((There is one book, but not a novel, that isn't on the list: "The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel Of Time"

It is written by Robert Jordan and Teresa Patterson, and is a compilation of all of the knowledge in the world of the Wheel of Time, even some stuff not said in the books.

And although I haven't read all of your guide, it seems great from what I have. If you want, I can submit all the details on linking...))
there are two otehr books that are not novelas but they help, one is called the Prophecy of the dragon, (which is a basic info book) the other is just called the Wheel of Time, (it is an Rp book, it has all the weaves and everything up till book 9)

I don't mean to be a stickler er anything like that but I founds quite a few errors in the information posts on the first page and they are corrected (to my knowledge) as follows:

Bale fire does not completely erase someone out of history. It would depend on the strength of the weave and the person weaving the one power as to how far back in time the recipient of the weave is burnt out. (Think of the bale fire weave itself as a match giving out a set amount of energy. the thread is burnt back only as far as that set amount lasts)

The Aiel waste has trees, though they are few and far between, generally they are more like shrubs or greasewoods in the RL deserts.

Male channelers can generally overpower any female channeler alone and shield them easily, while female channelers can generally weld the flows of Saidar to a finer degree, and have trouble holding a man with a shield if the man is stronger in the power.

The Gholam have not been proven to be completely immune to the OP, we do not know if balefire affects them or if there is a weave that can affect them yet. We also do not know that only one gholam survived the breaking. all of them could have in fact.

All of the ajahs are led by one person, whose Identity is a guarded secret to those outside the ajah. The white's head I believe is "First Reasoner" or some such.

The Amyrlin seat is not always informed of a sitting, especially if the reason for it pertains to the removal of the Amyrlin.

The Wolf brothers and sisters were originally associated with the Dark One as darkfriends, their talent was not originally attributed to the Op ( I think...)

Trollocs wield many different weapon, though a common one is the scythed blade.

The Link between a Mydraal and A trolloc, when severed by the death of the mydraal, does not instantly kill the linked trollocs. All it does is confuse and disorientates them, making them easy targets for a few minutes.

Most of these peieces of info can be found all throughout the series. They are also subject to the alteration of my mind and therefore may not all be 100% accurate, though I am pretty sure that most of them hit the mark. I do hope that no one has already posted these corrections rofl .

Also as a side note, no trolloc of mydraal, nor any other artificial construct can pass through a gateway and survive.

I'd like to add two valuable resources.

First is the WoT Wiki
http://wot.wikia.com/

And then there is a short story written by Robert Jordan, hosted on the TOR website. It's titled The Strike at Shayol Ghul
http://www.tor.com/shayol.html

I didn't notice either here and the Wiki is pretty extensive... and then there's the short story. Having more knowlege on the Age of Legends is always good.

FUN FACT! in the Age of Legends, peoples status were let known by how many names they had for example: Lews Theirn Telmon, was at one point First among Servents (the highest rank similer to the Amyrilin) so he had three names! where as Demadred (i forgot his real name gonk ) only had TWO names because he was just on the Council of Servents. OWAH!

Linking

The first thing is that the person making the circle, embraces Saidar. Once done, those who are joining in the circle, hold themselves at the point just before drawing from the true source. At that point, the person making the circle reaches out and slowly draws the source through the person as if they were an angreal. This is meant to be done somewhat slowly. Once the person is drawing the one power through that person, that person is now part of the circle. At that point control can be transfered from one person to another.

The person controlling the circle cannot draw more power than those she is linked to can handle. A circle cannot exceed 13 people unless a male channeler is brought in, then it can reach 26 people. Male channelers can keep being brought in and a maximum of 72 people in the circle can be reached. Circles are most effective with an equal number of men and women. Men cannot link on their own, but can be brought into a circle. There are some instances where men must control the circle.

That's about all I have on linking at the moment, I'll add on if I find more information.

RAISING AN ACCEPTED TO AES SEDAI

-The Mistress of Novices summons the trainee. "[Insert full name here], you are summoned to be testedor the shawl of an Aes Sedai. The Light keep you whole and see you safe."

-They proceed underground. Once below ground, the trainee is to be silent until addressed. They arrive at paired doors, to be pushed open with Air by the MoN. The room is "large, round, domed [and] ringed by stand lamps. Their light, reflected from the polished white stone walls, dazzled after the comparative dimness of the passages." [NS, CH: It Begins; p. 135]

-"A great oval ring, narrow at top & bottom...above a span in height and perhaps a pace across at its widest...swirls of all [colors] stood unsupported [in mid air]" Said ring will be in the center of the room.

-Then comes the dialogue. MoN, Acpt., etc.

MoN: "Attend." other Aes Sedai, one from each Ajah, stand in a circle around them, fringed shaws draped. *MoN cont.* "You come in ignorance [name of trainee]. How would you depart?"

Acpt: "In knowledge of myself."

MoN: "For What reason have you been summoned here?"

Acpt: "To be tried."

Mon: "For what reason should you be tried?"

Acpt: So that I may learn whether I am worthy."

MoN: "For what would you be found worthy?"

Acpt: "To wear the shawl."

Here, the Accepted must disrobe, to take the test clad only in the Light, symbolizing her trust in the Light's protection alne.

MoN: "Therefore I will instruct you. You will see this sign upon the ground. " *she channels, weaving a 6 pointed star in the air, composed of 2 overlapping triangles made of fire.*

((Till this point, all the Accepted have been taught the ceremony. In the next post, unless otherwise indicated, all is to be assumed as unknown before hand.))

Another Sister: *weaves into the Acpts. mind* "Remember what must be remembered. ((this refers to the star))

MoN: "When you see that sign, you will go to it immedie, at a steady pace, neither hurrying nor hanging back, and only then may you embrace the Power. The weaving required must begin immediately, and you may not leave that sign until it is completed."

Same Sister from before: "Remember what must be remembered."

MoN: "When the weave is complete, you will see that sign again, marking the way you must go, again at a steady pace, without hesitation."

Sister: "Rem. what must be Rem."

MoN: "One hundred times you will weave, in the order you have been given and in perfect composure."

Sister: "Rem. what must be Rem." *this is the final time this is done, and the weave settles into the Acpt, similar to how Healing does.

-Here, all the sisters except the MoN will move away and form a circle around the ter'ang'real. Then, they all kneel on the floor, before embracing saidar. Then, they channel, and the color shifts in the oval ring will increase in speed. The sisters continue to weave all five powers, in a complexity almost as that required in the test, with each sister concentrating on the task.

-At this point, the Acpt's Great Serpent ring is also removed, and the MoN alone is unoccupied, watching for breaks in the serenity of the Acpt. Then, the ring opening will suddenly turn white, and the ter'ang'real will begin to revolve on the base, silently, without even a grating noise.

-Then, the Acpt. steps into the ring, to begin the test. At this point, all of the Accepted memories are temporarily forgotten, save for that they must remain calm, and pass the test by channeling only at the 6 pointed star. At the completion of each test, and stepping into the next, the trainee will forget about the details of the previous test, recalling aside from the afore mentioned what number weave they are on, and how many remain in the test.

-The final test is the weaving of colored flecks; when woven improperly, something like a bad sunburn results. After passing through the final test, the girl returns to the chamber. Memory of all the tests crashes in at once, including memories of the injuries. Then the ceremony proceeds.

MoN: "It is done." *claps hands together once, formally* "Let no one v speak of what has passed here. It is for us to share in silence its who experienced it. It is done." *claps again* "[Trainee name], you will spend tonight in contemplation of the burdens you will take up on the morrow, when you don the shawl of an Aes Sedai. It is done." *claps for a third time*

Then, I suppose the MoN has the choice to stay, or depart. In the book, she leaves, but I assume this is b/c she has to go fetch another girl right away.

-The trainee is offered Healing. the girl is then allowed to dress. A sister escorts her up, by a different route, back to the Tower. In the Accepted's room, a large meal is provided.

-The girl is to be alone that night, without sleep, and await the sisters. A sister will knock, three firm raps. At the door, 7 sisters (1 from each ajah) who're all wearing their shawls are waiting. They form a ring around the girl.

-The girl is led back to the room where she was tested. Here, the ring of Aes Sedai split to form a line behind the girl. The Amyrlin & Keeper are present.

Amyr: "Who comes here?"

Acpt: "*states name*"

Amyr: "For what reason do you come?"

Acpt: "To swear the Three Oaths and thereby claim the shawl of an Aes Sedai."

Amyr: "By what right do you claim this burden?"

Acpt: "By right of having made the passage, submitting myself to the White Tower."

Amyr: "Then enter, if you dare, and bind yourself to the White Tower."

-The girl enters the room. The Amyrlin stands in the center of the room in her Stole. At her side, the Kep stands, holding a black velvet cushion on which the Oath Rod rests. Along the walls, the Sitters stand, grouped by Ajah. In front of the Sitters, one more Sister from the Ajah stands, with a folded shawl draped over one arm. All the sisters are wearing their shawls.

-The girl passes through the ter'angreal, and comes to kneel before the Amyrlin. The Amyrlin will take the Oath Rod form the cushion, and place it in the hands of the Acpt. The Amyr. then weaves a flow of Spirit.

Acpt: "Under the Light and my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow that I will speak no word that is not true. Under the Light and by my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow that I will make no weapon for one man to kilnother. Under the Light and by my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow that I will never use the One Power as a weapon except against Shadowspawn, or in the last extreme of defending my life or that of my Warder or another sister."

Amyr: "It is half done, and the White Tower is graven on your bones. Rise now, Aes Sedai, and choose your Ajah, and will be done that may be done under the Light."

-the new Aes Sedai is to rise and curtsy formally to the Amyrlin, and bend to kiss the Mother's Great Serpent ring. As she proceeds to choose her shawl, the other sisters are free to leave once the decision is clear.

-The fourth Aes Sedai of the Ajah (the one who is not a Sitter) will lay the shawl around the girl's shoulders.

Each sister: "Welcome home, sister. We have waited long for you." Each sister is to kiss both cheeks of the new Aes Sedai, as she says those words.

Then, the Sitters will charge the fourth Aes Sedai to escort *insert name* that the White Tower may see that a *insert Ajah color* has come home. As they walk, the title of the Ajah head but not the identity is revealed to the new Sister.

-Lastly, I don't know if this a Blue thing, or tradition; I'm going with the latter. Each sister of the Ajah is to line the corridor,in the hall, repeating the same welcome home sister as before, as in the hall, and receive the kiss each time. Finally, the sisters are shown to their rooms. Then, they speak with the Ajah head, learning of the punishment, respect to be given according to strength in power, etc. from the Ajah head, before being left to their (or the Ajah's) devices, to eat, etc. and be Aes Sedai in general!
