So if Scientists are mostly Atheist/Agnostic, why do they still label everything "B.C." (Before Christ)?
My boyfriend suggested that maybe they used it as "Before Civilization". And I thought about that for awhile. But who is to say that the cavemen weren't civilized in some manner? No one. Because none of us were there. neutral

Well, back in the day scientists were in fact religious peoples. Monks were scientists, alchemists were priests and the like. I believe the man who founded the idea of genetics by studying peas was a monk.
So, one can assume (and historically know) that scholars were, as well, religious peoples. They monitored the time and bullshit with their fancy abbreviations and stuff.
Obviously, certain s**t sticks as time went on. As this categorization of time periods was written in the past and has not yet been disproved, science will keep the method of documentation.
I believe that's why they've kept it. Just as the world was thought to be flat until several hundred years later when it was disproved.
It's also worth noting exactly as you point out that most scientists are Atheist or Agnostic. Having looked up certain figures, little more than 1/3rd of the world's scientists who study life and the world (i.e. physics, biology, etc.) have belief in God. That's quite a good chunk of people. Little less than a third study social sciences and the like (i.e. Economics, Sociology, Political Science). You may be wondering why I point this out, but as you can see, there's a greater amount of people who believe within the field of science that would try to disprove God than the one you'd assume would do less so.
All this coming together could -probably- lead to the longevity of it all. Maybe not. At least it should help.
