Roleplay: Tonks nervously brushes her wand against her clothes. It's been a while since she dueled. She studies her opponent, and all the cats nearby (in trees, behind Mia's ankles, on her shoulders) and decides on a nice and basic spell
Action: Attack: Aguamenti!
Effect: Produces water to drench everything in sight. If the kitties are feeding Mia power, they won't like that (She doesn't see any Abyssinians, Ragdolls or jaguars, who all like water) and will probably retreat.

Roleplay: Mia watches as Tonks looks over her cats with a calculating look in her eyes. When she casts her spell, Mia is infuriated; No one, but NO ONE threatens her babies.
Action: Defend: Congelo unda!
Effect: This spell turns water into ice, freezing it in place before it can get to the caster.

Roleplay: Mia smiled. Thank goodness. Her poor babies. They almost got drenched. She looked up at Tonks. "Think going after my kitties is a good idea? Think again!"
Action: Attack: Cattus tentatio
Effect: This spell hypnotizes cats and puts them in a very playful mood, aimed at the opponent. Unfortunately, playful for cats can be painful for people, because they like to use their claws and teeth.

Tonks looks at the approaching cats. They look like they mean business, focused business. Fortunately, she's studied animals. A lot. A Metamorphagus does more than change color, the more talented ones can change their bodies...
Action: Defend: Nepeta cataria cardum!
Effect: A spell irresistible to all felines. Rather advanced magic, too; it pulls air molecules into manifesting as yarn, permeated with catnip.

The spell produces balls of yarn that roll towards the approaching cats. Two of the younger ones, kittens really, are completely distracted and run, catch, kick and have a completely wonderful time with the catnap empregnated yarn balls.
The others approach with purpose in their eyes and very fast reflexes as Tonks pulls in her skin and tries to dodge the claws. Even though they are playing, they shred her clothes, and their claws scratch her arms. Then they leave her to roll happily with the yarn and catnip.
Tonks studies the elaborately coiffed and beautifully dressed Mia.
Action: Attack: Tangelosa Gordian impedimentia! A fairly harmless tangling jinx, it will wrap hair around baubles and the witch or wizard *cough Gilderoy Lockhart cough* will be able to do nothing else for an hour or so but untangle and retangle themselves.

RP: Mia giggles as she watches her playful kittens follow the yarn, and outright laughs when the bigger ones start rolling in the catnip. They are just so darn cute! But Tonks means business, she can tell, and now she's going after her hair!

Effect: This spell gives hair a just washed and conditioned quality, making it impossible to tangle.

RP: Mia shrieks a little as her locks wrap around the baubles in her hair. This is what she gets for dressing so elaborately for a duel! Next time, it's a shirt, jeans, and a ponytail, for sure. And two can play at that game.
Action: Attack: velox crinitus
Effect: This spell makes hair grow uncontrollably and very rapidly, making it wrap around the opponent and get so tangled they are trapped in a cocoon of their own hair.

Tonks too is enjoying the cute kittens playing while she waits to see the effect of her spell. Pretty shabby, she thinks. Can I do better? She watches the spell heading for her.
Very nice defensive spell, she thinks, borrowing it!
Defense: saeta mollis . She likes that it will keep her hair shiny and tangle free; generally she has to do that herself with her abilities and buys shampoo by scent.

Tonks scratches her head. Now what? She sighs and goes back into the Dueling Club to look up the rules of a tie.
OK. Yay! I blocked the spell of the older, wiser, better gowned and coiffed opponent! I get to attack!
Attack: Riddiculum Giggliosa! Tonks actually enjoyed reading Twilight but is a little miffed by how it seems to have taken over the Muggle media as well as 9/10 of GaiaOnLine. The attacking spell causes a long, long bout of the giggles at whomever is the most favored lad or lass in the land by the most populace, rendering an opponent quite prone with laughter, and risking grass stains on their garments.

Mia scowls. She hated when her hair gets messed up and the revenge doesn't follow through. And now the 2nd year was trying to turn her into a giggling fangirling idiot! Ack!

Effect: This spell makes the caster immune to fangirling by reminding them just how much in love with their Significant Other they really are.

RP: Mia's face takes on a dreamy expression as her thoughts are temporarily consumed by thoughts of Scottie. She sighs, and the moment passes as Tonk's spell fizzles out. The she puts on her game face. Time to poke them where it hurts.
Action: Attack: insigne exemplar sin
Effect: Eddie Izzard fans will love this spell. It causes a giant spoon to appear and poke the opponent repeatedly. A fitting attack to use on a badger.

Tonks watches the giant spoon approach. She doesn't know who this Eddie Izzard is that Mia is muttering about
Defense: Metallica Bendus Reverso If done properly the spoon will twist itself up, grab a giant spoon full of turf and lob it at the opponent. Will not permanently harm or stain garments, but if the cats or other wildlife have used the turf as potty, it could be quite smelly.

Unbelievable! That long break must have made me rusty. The spoon pokes me 5 times luckily not in a tender part(s), before dissolving with a clattering sigh.
I pick myself up and look at my Gryff opponent, who looks a bit smug. I grip my wand and think.
I put some snap in my wrist (to increase the momentum on my spell) and shout:
Attack: Orbus Repeato!. Will cause the opponent to bounce up and down repeatedly, making it impossible to cast a spell, or indeed, to think at all. More delicate types might lose their lunch and/or become significantly dizzy for a while.
