So the other day I was looking at some exercise dvds online and I came across this dvd from Jillian Michaels called the "30 Day Shred". The dvd claims to help you lose 20 pounds in 30 days by working out with the dvd for 30 days. With a claim like that, I decided to check out the reviews for it. I looked on both Target.com and Amazon.com and all the reviews said the same thing....it helped them lose weight and build muscle fast.
I decided to buy the dvd from Target the other day and every since I bought it, I've been using it everyday. Today was my third day and I am sore all over, but the workout is getting easier with every use. I have to warn you though, this is a tough workout and you have to really want to stick with it and lose weight. I'll update on my progress in a week or two.

Hey, question. Does the DVD have any hopping or stomping? Anything that might make noise downstairs for retarded neighbors that make as much noise as they please but get angry at me for anything?
Hem. Just a question.

Not necessarily stomping, but it does require that you do jumping jacks, butt kicks, and other exercises that take you off the floor.

So I did the level 1 workout up until last Friday. I am now working on level 2. I have noticed that my body looks a little different. My stomach has become slightly smaller and I am starting to become a little more toned. I still have a long way until I get big results though. biggrin
I haven't lost any weight only because I'm gaining muscle while I lose fat, which is fine with me! mrgreen

Woah 20 pounds in 30 days is really fast isn't it? PLUS building muscle eek How much time do you work out for and what weights are you supposed to use?
So the different levels, how do you use it? Do you stay on level 1 and keep doing it for days, then advance as you're ready?

I haven't really lost much weight because of the muscle. I'm sure doing it for a much longer term would result in some weight loss. I think the actual workout part is 18 minutes and then you have the warm-up and cool down parts. Even though it doesn't seem that long, I got more results from this video then working out for over an hour at the gym.
There are three levels. One is the easiest and three is the hardest. You just go to the next level when you feel like you're ready. For me, I eventually got use to level 1 and decided I would start on level 2 after 10 days of the first level. I eventually had to take a two week break because of some problems going on, but I started back up yesterday and I'm so excited to keep this up. I'm curious to see how much I've lost after doing it for over two months!

I've lost fat and gained muscle, but haven't really lost much weight. I just keep telling myself every time I get on the scale that I'm gaining muscle, not fat.

Soi Tsuba i've never gotten past level 1 because I get just sooooo bored with it.
I could see why someone could get bored with it, but once I started getting use to the second level, I would alternate. Sometimes I would even turn on my own music to go with the video. 3nodding I'm just really excited for long term results so I'm motivated.

im really sceptical about the whole gaining muscle thing, especially if you are female. My personal trainer said that even if they trained me in weights 4 times a week for 6 months, i would be lucky to put on a kilo of muscle. Women just dont bulk up like that. So it *could* be that you are putting on muscle, but imo its probably either (a) water retention in the muscles you are using, or (b) eating more because the extra exercise is making you hungrier.

I actually picked this up in my local walmart for only $10 I've only done it twice (I plan on sticking with it, though) and obviously from the sore muscles I have, it's doing SOMETHING. Now, I don't expect to lose 20lbs in 30 days [really, it is kind of unbelievable, unless you're rather large]. But if you're sore, you're doing something; And it can't hurt anything d; I started out with level 3. It was very difficult |: I sweated the entire workout
