Have you ever met an author? What was he/she like and what was said?

If you haven't met one, who would you like to meet?

Me, personally. I'd wanna meet Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Chris Wooding, J.K. Rowling, and Edgar Allan Poe.

Does meeting future authors count? I once met my brother and we've been on good speaking terms since then.

Or in dreams? Because I once had a dream that Stephen King was my neighbor and he complimented me on the success of my book. He was coming up on 73 in the dream, though.

Other than that, nope. I'd liked to have met Michael Crichton, he's one of my favorite authors.

I met the author of Shabanu. It was at this writing competition.
My mum bought the book and had her sign it.
Other than that, I really can't recall meeting an author...
But I vaguely recall meeting at least one other...
Huh. I can't remember.

i once met Chris D'Lacey at school because he came in to do an assembly with us about his books and writing and to judge a poetry competition about dragons (and also a work shop with the top group which i had quite literaly just been moved out of, i wasn't a happy bunny when i found out).

he picked my poem 4laugh biggrin 4laugh !!!!!! (sorry i'm still quite proud of this) (there was also another winner because the english department disagreed with him. the english department at our school hates me burning_eyes )
