dammmit~janet Julia Dream 1.What is the wall? A psychological boundary between Pink's mind and reality. As every bad thing happened to him, he put another 'brick in the wall' and tried to block himself out, pretty much pushing the problem aside rather than dealing with it. He sinks himself into drugs and his mind escapes into the little world he had created in order for him to realize what he was doing wasn't helping him. At the end, though, he finds himself breaking the wall down as he is sentenced to live in reality during the trial. It's perfectly simple, when you really think about it. I don't get why people think you have to be on drugs in order to understand it.
2.what scenes of pink doing certain things represent what band members? The sequence where Pink shaves all the hair off his body was remnant of what Syd did during a crowded dinner party. Syd Barrett left the party, shaved his head, and returned like nothing had happened.
Most of the non-psychological things like Pink's father dying in the war were based off Roger Water's life, but it wasn't an auto-biographical movie like lots of people think it was. There were just some parts that Waters put his own experiences into. i thought the wall (cd) was about his relationship with his dad too - not sure though It's not rly abt the relationship with his dad since his dad died when he was 1 they didnt even know each other. It's abt the thought of him losing his father because of the war, and the over-protective mom of him. Not all abt that but part. I think the part abt the education of England at that time was what the band members had been thru. They sure dont love it.

i like how they used syd as an example for pink like when pink shaved all of his hair. just goes to show how roger liked syd a lot. anyone else agree?

I love the movie... I can relate to Floyd Pinkerton much too well. It's just amazing how many different views one can take on this movie. One I picked up is that everything negative that happened in Pink's life was because of his mother and wife.

the wall is my favorite movie cuz its different and very interesting. alot of the people i know think its about drugs or government but really its about the wall in his head that he cant escape his own mind ^^
