ok, so how many of you guys have ever come out to someone and had them not believe you because you don't "look like" or "sound like" the stereotypical gay/lesbian person?

how many of you, simply because you like to wear dresses, have been told that there's no way in hell that you could be a lesbian?

how many of you guys, who dont have a lisp or walk around with make-up, been told that you can't be gay?

how many of you guys out there have had to deal with people telling you that you obviously are stupid and don't understand yourself simply because you don't meet some bullsh** criteria that society has made up? god, it's so frustrating!

it's just as dumb as saying that someone can't be mexican if they don't speak spanish; as stupid as someone asking a black guy why he's using words like "disconfiguration"; as dumb as people asking how a white person could be liberal and not rich; as dumb as someone asking why an asian is failing their math class.

it's close-minded, ignorant and above all extremely insulting! how dare they say that simply because i don't act as they'd expect (hello, i don't have to meet your expectation. in fact, i'd like to do the complete opposite!) that i can't be gay! what's wrong with people?!

rant over. anyone else feel like this ever?

I actually had the opposite happen. In high school, I was constantly accused of being a lesbian because I was kind of a jock and (even though I was boy-crazy) I never dated anyone.

Granted, now I'm leaning towards bi, but 10 years ago, when I was in high school and knew that I wasn't, it was still baffling to me that just because I fit a couple of the "stereotypes", automatically other people knew me better than I knew myself.

i've had so many people say that there is no way i could be a lesbian just because of how i act sometimes. but i can see why they would think that because i think the spencers guy and the piercing shop guy are very hella sexy. but it not like i like them in a sexual way. there just realy good looking for a guy.

in middle school though everyone thought i was at least bi just because of how i acted, dressed and that i had never had a bf even though there were quite a few guys that liked me and one guy that had asked me out quite a few times.

I know this has nothing to do with the discussion, but, frogger, Invictus is one of my FAVORITE poems! I can recite it at the drop of a hat and have a tee with it on the back biggrin

I hate that, I grew up around gay people my whole life and out here one of my husbands friends brother gives off an extremely gay vibe.
He may or may not be gay but when I told my husband he's like 'Oh no he can't be because he sleeps with more girls then his brother has, etc etc'
Oh yeah that means he can't be gay because we all know every gay person knew from the start or never came out because their families wouldn't except them so they married and had kids -_-

I mean these people give hell to this one guy who's bi saying he's only bi because he couldn't get a girl.
