Professors

As a professor, you will be required to set up your own classroom, and make your own lesson plans. It is up to you whether or not you assign homework, but all homework must be extra credit only. As a professor you must remain professional at all times, that means you abide by the rules and you also make sure the students abide by the rules as well. Any abuse of power will get you fired. You do NOT need to have prior knowledge of this subject, but you will be asked to do some research so you can appear as if you know something when teaching your class. As a professor you will be asked to keep track of your students grades. You may also limit how many students you take in each term. If you so wish, you may use engrade to help you keep track of students grades, or you can simply set up another topic within your department for that. For now we are just starting with the basics, seeing as how all students are first years. Once we have a wider range of ages, we will be adding onto our class list. If you are capable, and would like to take on the task of teaching more than one class feel free to apply. I would like to limit each professor to 3 classes maximum.

As a professor you have the opportunity to work your way up to Head of House, Deputy Headmaster/mistress, and eve Headmaster/mistress, so if this is what you desire then the more active you are here, the better chance you have to be promoted.

Each class session typically lasts about a week. Within that time period it is up to you to keep up with your class. Get the students to be active, assign projects for them to RP out. Activity is ultimately the way to passing a class. If a student isn't active, you have the right to fail him/or/her for that session. You cannot play favorites and pass a student you like, or fail a student you do not like. On that note, if a student is assigned detention by you, it will be your job to set the date and time frame in which they have to complete it. Then you and the student must RP in the detention all (located in the dungeons). To make it easier, you can have 1 detention session last 3days to a week. That way both you and the student have plenty of time to go and rp.

As a professor you are must create an "office" topic for yourself. This will be a place where you can not only RP, but students can come to you when they need help.

Each professor is assigned to a house. Unless we get too many in one specific house, I will allow you to choose. Once we have a wider range of years among the students, you will be allowed to choose 1 student to be your teachers aid. It will be up to you to determine what their duties will be, and to assign them weekly pay (typically between 50-75 galleons a week). Lastly, professors earn 200 Galleons a week.
