Well I was talking to my friends in a chatroom and decided "Hey, why not an ATG chatroom?"

---------

All you have to do is download it from here, install it, and then it's good to go and be set up!

First off, when you go to activate the program it SHOULD come up with a network list. Yours may differ in color, obviously.

First off, you'll need to click "Add," a box with the text with "New Network" should pop up.

Click "Edit" and it should go to a screen that looks like this.

Add the address [SORRY I SCREWED UP, it's "irc.lostsignalnetwork.com/6667" ] by clicking "edit," then go to "Favorite Channels" and enter what's in the box right there.

Then click "Close" and it should just go back to the Network List. Fill in your computer username, any nicknames you want, and then your real name. Then click the "New Network" and rename it like so.

Hit "Connect"! If nobody's in there, either stay or leave.

I hope this is easy, but if you have any questions, ask.

*is confused* An anti-twilight chat would be nice for the guild, but I don't hang out in chatrooms much (unless zomg counts xd ) and I"m rather paranoid when it comes to downloading things. and you have to pay to download it?

Questions and Answers
Q. If I register, will I get future versions for free?
A. Yes, absolutely.

Q. Why can't XChat for Windows be free?
A. It's free to try for the first 30 days! Building XChat for Windows is a difficult process, it requires quite some skill and expertise to accomplish. It takes time, and is by no means automated. This version also has some value added features only for Windows, such as opening irc:// URLs from your web browser in an existing instance of xchat, spell checking and graphical emoticons.

Q. Does registration entitle me to technical support?
A. We ask you to evaluate the product for free for 30 days to make sure it suites your needs. We're happy to answer any email questions, but there is also another good source of help and information: the public forums.

Q. Which versions of Windows does XChat work on?
A. Nearly any version you'd care to run it on, including:
Windows Server
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Q. What about the LGPL libraries you link with?
A. The source code is here if you wish to download it. The bugs I've fixed have already been submitted to the relevant bugzillas with patches. The readme.html file has further details. This file is not useful for the average user, if in doubt, you don't need this smile

Q. I've previously registered, but lost my key file, can I have it resent?
A. We can only resend key files that have been purchased within the last 60 days. Please email if this applies to you. If it's been longer than 60 days, unfortunately you will have to register again.

There's also the main FAQ for information on using xchat's features.

I hit download and choose windows, and this is what it shows, and chatango is free, and in your web browser... it is still a good idea, but we just need to find a simple im that lets us chat....

An ATG chat would be awesome.
I'm not interested in paying for it though.

What about using Skype? It's free, and I know it does mainly phone calls and video chats, but I've always used it for regular text chats.
