Darcy was as impatient as ever, pacing the floor of the dimly lit cave. "She's late." The preteen muttered, glancing at her brother. The other orange haired child was holding a leash tightly. On the end of it was a child.

Not an ordinary child. One with fangs, a rather.. well. Aaron knew the myths. He didn't want to risk being bitten, or worse, allowing Darcy to be harmed. "She'll be here. Jaella has never failed us yet." The boy said, though he didn't sound like he was trying to reassure his sister. He sounded bored. As if he'd said this hundreds of times before.

He probably had.

Amy was cursing quietly under her breath as she ran towards the caves, angry with herself. She hadn't believed in this moment, exactly. Hadn't wanted to believe that it was all true. Sometimes you wish for things without ever expecting to see them happen.

Looking at her watch, her pace quickened. She had been unable to decide so early in the morning if she would go through with this in the end. Not because she didn't want it, but because... well. What if it was a hoax? What if someone out where was taking advantage of the rumors to pull her in towards something silly and taunting?

What if she was going to be disappointed by this? What if there was nobody there?

Well, with the time being what it was there was a chance that whoever had been there had left. Disgruntled.

s**t.

As she neared the entrance of the cave, her steps slowed. She paused, frowning as she tried to see if there was anyone inside. No matter. She was here, and she was going to go through with this no matter what.

"Hello? I'm sorry I'm late." she called out.

"There you see? I told you she would be here." Aaron said, before stepping out of the gloom to greet the woman. Maybe he could speak with her before Darcy did. Darcy always ruined everything. She had no skill with people, magical or not.

"We've been expecting you, Amy." Darcy said, following her brother. "I assume you are here to meet your new daughter." She gestured to the girl whose leash was being securely held by Aaron. "We didn't want her to bite anyone." The orange haired girl explained, rather bluntly it's true.

Aaron gave the woman a polite, apologetic smile. As if he was apologizing for the behavior of his sister. He was; he'd had to do just that almost as many times as he'd had to reassure Darcy that Jaella had never failed.

Amy visibly relaxed once seeing that there was in fact someone else in the cave with her. She smiled then, the smile growing. They were the right children!

"Yes, yes I am." she started, glowing at the thought of meeting her new daughter. A girl. A child. For her! And then paused. Was that a... leash? In fact...

"Bite?" she asked blankly. Okay, so many children might have a habit of chewing on others, but there was something extremely serious about the way the orange girl said the words that had a small prickle of unease fill the woman.

"Bite?" she didn't know how else to say it really. She felt like an idiot repeating herself-- but what could she do otherwise?

Darcy simply nodded. "She's a vampire." She said, still giving the woman a smile. She looked forward to seeing how this child would grow, vampires were interesting creatures.. Maybe she could use this to her advantage.. Maybe the child would be useful when she grew.

"Not a vampire." Aaron corrected, frowning slightly. "A Strigoi. Ma'am, if you haven't, I highly suggest that you read up on your Roman myths. Strigoi differ from vampires in that they..."

"Have two hearts, and can shape shift." Darcy finished for him. "Not only into bats--but cats, dogs, insects, and various other creatures."

Amy nodded her head, rapt with thought. Strigoi? Vampire? So they would drink blood and this girl would now be able to shape shift as well? Oh... oh dear.

"A strigoi." she repeated. Note to self: first thing when she headed home, she was going to look them up and see what she needed to do. "I understand." she thought.

Maybe. Okay. Just a little bit.

"Hello darling." she said softly, leaning over. "My name is Amy."

"Well, ma'am, is there anything you want to know? Any questions you have?" Aaron asked politely. Yes, he was still slightly bothered by the strigoi child, but that wouldn't keep him from being polite.

"My brother means to say that your daughter isn't like other children. She will have a special ability, as well as those that go with being a vampire.."

"Strigoi." Aaron corrected her.

"I mean, strigoi. We haven't learned of her special ability just yet, so you will have to keep us informed, through Jaella."

Amy nodded her head. "What am I going to do if she bites someone?" there was something sweet and frank about the little girl, but you could never be 100% certain. She was already nervous as it was, simply watching the young redhead.

She looked up. Powers? Through Jaella. "I'll let Jaella know." she repeated, half for herself. "But no... no I don't think I have any questions." not yet, anyways.

No... no questions.

"If she bites someone, make sure they stop bleeding. If the bite doesn't stop, then take them to the hospital. I suggest trying some of Louie Von Helson's vegan blood bags, then she won't have a need to bite anyone. I don't know where you'd buy them--" Darcy was interupted.

"Ask Edmund." Aaron said.

Amy blinked. That sounded... that sounded realistic. Reasonable. Something that anyone could do. And nothing linked with what the little girl might be. Nodding her head, she bit her lip. Edmund. Edmund. She had it.

"Thank you." she blurted out, pausing for a moment. She reached for her new daughter (HER daughter!) and tried to remember what the twins were telling her. Louie Von Helson's vegan blood bags?

Check. She'd get them. She'd get anything for her daughter.

"I've got it."
