Quarentine looked at the man with a furrowed brow "How did you get in here? ... " then she thought about the nights events. "Never mind, I don't want to know." she said simply, going to put the tv on the dresser. "How else would you intend to explain a tv to someone who didn't know?" she asked him, a slight snideness in her tone.

A soft sigh escaped him, for effect of course.. Ice had no real need to breath unless he was speaking.. before offering a smile to the woman. " I did apologize, it is not my habit to sneak into other mutant's homes. Still.. a tv is nothing more than a illusion, 'actors' hiding behind a screen while they play childish games and rely on digital effects. In a real Theatre, a actor must always do his or her best.. it is the league of true talent." Satisfied he had made his point clear, Ice tapped his chin.. his expression serene as he added thoughtfully. " In short, darling, I would say it was a lie."
While the two bickered Nexus took the time to pull his shoes on, listening to them with a slight smile.. before his body tensed, expression turning to stone as he growled quietly. " She is not your Darling." How dare that b*****d call her darling, I will-- Nexus twitched, his eyes narrowing as he stood.. his back to the pair as he attempted to put his clothing in order. He did not know this woman’s name, was fairly certain she had conspired with his other half.. and Ice had only ever protected him. Why did it piss me off when he called her that...

Quarentine sighed and looked at him "Where do you think you're going?" she asked. She turned to Ice "Look pal, I'm sure you mean well, but I've used my regenerative skills on him, and I don't think It's a good Idea to have him moving around too much. Especially since I smell lava.... " she said going to go get a bottle of water out of the refridgerator.

" It would be impossible to halt him." Ice answered calmly, shrugging as he gestured to Nexus. " If he is ill here, every human in the building will be in danger of fumes or fire. I can not allow such a event so close to my Theatre."
" He is right.." Then again, so was she.. He felt like hell, but putting risk to her and her home... That was not going to happen. Yanking the collar of his shirt up he placed a hand on her shoulder, musing quietly. " I am Nexus, or at least the human half. Thank you but it is not safe for me to remain here." It was not safe for her, either.. but he could not point it out without having the fear of upsetting her.

Jane looked at him and suddenly felt releived to be wearing her mask for she frowned at this. "then were will you go?" she asked him softly, her tone slightly broken. She'd hoped to make a friend. She caught this flaw her facade as well, and quickly tried to cover any hint of concern or desire by the statement "I've been asked to linger around you.". She sharpened her tone, but she was unable to make it sound sincere. Her voice tended to betray her, so she often tried to take the silent road... but there was something to Nexus, both halves of him, that gave her the urge to babble incesantly.
The Gargoyle half gave her a sense of confindence, a longing to act outside of her comfort zone. It was him who made her melt and want to linger for an eternity just to feel alive, to feel wanted. Rejection could truely take a toll on a woman's heart, and no amount of practice would give Quarentine the ability to truely deny it. This half though, filled her with a sense of inferiority and a craving to be more average, to be more.... pretty. It was like a high school crush. He made her wish she had long flowing hair or watery, sparkly blue eyes. She wished she could have pretty manicures and eat scones over tea. She wanted to wear fancy gowns and flirt shamelessly, because he presented himself as the type of man who enjoyed that. This half made her angry, because that was something she could never be, yet, being near him made it feel like she was that much closer to becoming that very stereotype, and so she wanted to be near him always. When he'd look at her, of speak, or c**k his head to the side the way he did, her heartbeat sped up and behind the mask she blushed... this mask hid many things. She was greatful.

Without a word Ice left them to talk, prowling through the girls home with hardly a glance.. Many had been found in such homes, humans too afraid to help them or give them a chance to prove themselves worthy of a life in the sun. Sadly.. no one could push the mutants to accept help, unless they wanted it.. His gaze slid back to where he heard the pair's voices', a grim smile tugging at his mouth. That girl had a shrew of her own to tame, and he was looking forward to seeing how it ended.
Nexus watched Ice go, remaining silent until the male had gone.. his gaze resting on her own steadily as he asked quietly. " Then.. come with me. To Ice's Theatre, the Mansion serves as a home for people who need it." It was said honestly, the tone stressed.. and a little down trodden. She would never accept.. but.. A reason, he needed a excuse.. His thoughts flashed to Ice and he relaxed, a little shocked to find his breathing had become easier with finding a way to keep her close. Giving a quiet sigh he pushed a hand through his hair, gaze sliding to the side as he offered calmly. " You can control that side of me, after all.. So if either of us do something you can keep us in line. Ice would welcome you, I pose too much of a threat without a anchor." It was not a lie, he always slept in a cell for fear of attacking someone under Ice's protection.. With Quarentine there was no such fear, everything about her put him at ease.. even the mask that hid her mouth.. She would feel like she had to stay, and he would get to have her by his side.

Quarentine didn't hesitate, it shocked them both, but she didn't. "Alright, but as soon as we get there you're going to rest, understood." she said. It was far more a statement than a question or suggestion. She wasn't one to sugarcoat or give gentle advice. It wasn't in her, not at the moment. She hadn't learned those behaviors. "You're kind, Nexus." it was almost an after thought, but she meant it. he would try his damnedest to hide it, but he was kind. "Just let me grab my back pack." Her hand, fingers hyper extened slightly so she wouldn't cut him with her claws, slid up to his cheek, and lingered only a moment. She was testing him, seeing what he thought of her, if he was afraid of her....

Within the gardens, amidst the array of statues and plants that still held a beauty indescribable, the soft sigh of tears could be heard on the wind. Alicia sat on the ground against one of the broken walls, curled in on herself with her head against her knees. The blood had long since stopped flowing from her lips though her body still shook with each sob, breathing becoming even harder. A slip she thought. A small slip....and so much damage as a result. The body off of the side of her, a good ten feet away, was proof that it was dangerous to let yourself go.
To the other side of her Dalykos stood finishing with his own victim, having originally come to help her get rid of the body. Then a poor man had shown up and thought it good sport to harass the two of them. He was now slumped between the wall and her brother, the glow from Dalykos' demon eyes bright enough to rival even the moonlight. His demon form, both horrid and yet the most beautiful she had ever seen. Finally dropping the man he let the blood continue to drip down his jaw and over his chest, changing back to his original vampire form and turning to her. The satisfaction in his gaze was enough to make her want to throw up. Especially when after a moment of him watching her she felt the tell tale compulsion of his mind taking over hers. "Grab him and bring him over here."
Unable to stop herself she crawled over to her victim, dragging him next to the other body and standing next to Dalykos. He had a full foot on her, and she didn't move as with a flick of his hand the bodies were lit, purple flames licking at their skin so that the smell of burning blood and flesh filled the air. "I can't take this anymore, I want it to be done brother. Please."
This amused him though he didn't look over at her. Alicia had always been a caring one, could never accept this game of survival they were a part of. Always had to fight her very nature to the point of agony. He would have to remedy that soon."It will never be done. Not while we reign. Enjoy it. Better to be the killer than the food." His hand swept over in front of him, emphasizing his words. The men had been stupid, thinking that they could hold the control that was rightfully theirs. Now they were in their proper place, before them on the ground. "Someday, little sister, the thirst will win. And you will regret having fought it for so long once you truly taste its sweetness. It will be the one thing that will never betray you, no matter what you think of it the hunger will be your only true companion. Remember that." And with that he disappeared, not even a tremor in the wind to signal his presense had left.
With a sigh Alicia bit back more tears, her eyes glowing as she wiped the blood away from her mouth. "He's wrong. I know he is." Except she swore that the moment the words were said she could hear his laughter in her head, mocking her. She couldn't stay here. Gathering herself she ran, the fire still burning in that single spot and never spreading, the smoke pluming higher, black shadows against the dark blue of the night sky. No one would ever find those men. Ever.
