Fear My Bloody Fangs.
The "So you want to be a wizard" series. Despite the sucky name of the first book they really are fasinating books. A more complex plotline than the Harry Potter books though, I acctully have to take my time reading them. Oddly enough, the first one of those books almost kept me from reading Harry Potter. I read the first one and hated it, and thinking Harry Potter was going to be along the same lines, I refused to read it for the longest time. Thankfully, I eventually swallowed my pride and bcame an avid Harry Potter fan. (As all of you can see.
wink )

Anyway, I ADORE Mercedes Lackey. She's usually who I spend my non Harry Potter time reading. I recommend her highly to any fantasy fan.
I've read a couple of her books. I liked the very first ones and the one about Skif, but the ones about the princess (Aah, what was her name?) I didn't really enoy. Black Swan has to be my favorite by her though.

I can't put down the Three Musketeers series by Alexandre Dumas for the life of me. I'm on the sequel, Twenty Years After at the moment. These dashing cavaliers are so addicting.
I too have been meaning to read teh Three Musketeers for the longest time. I was not aware, however, that it was a series.
I just finished reading the Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver and am working on Paradise Lost by John Milton. The Posionwood Buible is beatiful. It's sad bittersweet and enrapturing and thought provoking. I was near tears by teh very end. It's not really fantasy though, so I'm not sure how much some of you will like it. It's basically about missionaies in Congo during the late fifties, bt really it's so much more. As for Paradise Lsot, it's going to take me awhile to ge through it simply because I'm not used to the format and language. But it is really, really interesting.
