Hey (: so all week i've been at horse camp. i've been waking up at 6am every morning, but it's worth it. tomorrow, friday, were having a parade at the stable. we dress up the horses in costumes, we barrel race, pole bend and do our 'special course' we made.
i'm very excited but i'm also a little nervous. Hankey, the mare i ride is a VERY fast horse. You seriously don't have to nudge her. You just make a kiss noise and she sprints to the first barrel or to the beginning of the first pole. We have a group lesson twice a day, and she knows what were doing. when were waiting for our turn, were behind two other horses and she starts to prance and turn in circles. she tries to pull to go start her pole/barrel. is top her and she stands still for a minute before she contiues again. Then when it's her turn, oh lord you have to hold on very tight. she has alot of energy. were not starting from the sute (sp?) but when we are heading into it when were heading home.
do you guys have any tips for me? to make it a sort of more easier ride? maybe to help her stop prancing?
also, when she runs barrels, she always starts on her left, but in the group lesson we start on the right.
