Riku blinked, "they don't even have this much in the Palace!" He exclaimed, then realized his mistake immediately. He put a hand over his mouth, right after his lips formed a little 'o'. "Not that I've been there, or anything," he whispered, with a blush over his nose and cheeks. He came forward and touched the old parchment, with a practiced hand. "May I see them?" He asked Tamahome, hoping that he'd say yes.

Tamahome looked down at the younger man, then nodded, "Sure, once we get out of here, you can look at them all you want." He went over and grabbed a satchel, slipping them in gently and slinging them on his back. "Alright, that's all I need out of here. If you want, Grandmother's medicines are on the bookshelf, they may be of use to you and your men on the mountain. You can help yourself. Other then that, I'll leave the house to someone that needs it."

He went toward the medicines and grabbed some bandages and salve, slipping them into the bag as well, in case someone was injured, then he was ready, and moved to the door to wait for the others.

Looking around the small hut, Mika couldn't help but notice quite a few salves and such that could be very useful for the group. She restrained herself, keeping her hands in front of her. The problem with being a thief was that sometimes, one couldn't help but take something. Today, she wasn't going to, however. She took a glance over the scrolls, surprised at them. They were in marvelous condition, and very detailed. Though, with Riku's outburst, she was certain that Tamahome was going to notice something. Apparently, he didn't, or if he did, he was very good at hiding it.

Looking over at Tamahome, she nodded. "They would be helpful. Our healer is still an apprentice, and could use all the help she could get." Putting her hand in the inside of her cloak, she pulled out a small bundle, which unfolded into a larger bag. She carefully piled some salves and medicines into the bag, leaving a few that she knew they already had. She didn't want to be greedy, afterall. That went against everything that they stood for. They took enough to take care of their own hides and have a little extra for fun. Everything else went back to the people they took from. When the bag was filled, she moved over towards Tamahome, nodding. "The camp is about a mile out, but we should be there no time."

Riku followed the two around, being younger, and much less experienced in the wide world, he was fine doing that. He wanted to learn, that was why he came out on thses missions, he wanted to see how norma people lived. He desperately wanted to be a normal person himself, but neither fate nor birth would allow that, first causing him to be a prince... then the Prince of Suzaku.

He silently made his way out of the small hovel, glad that Tamahome hadn't seemed to noticehis flub, and hoping that even if he hadn't missed it, that it wouldn't cause his mission to fail automatically. "A mile?" He asked quietly, glad that Mika had said he could use her horse.

As they neared the edge of the city, a single horse was hitched to one of the trees. No one had bothered it, other than someone apparently leaving a small basket of carrots nearby to feed the beast. The horse had nearly polished off all of them when Mika approached, giving his nose a stroke. As to be expected, her hand came back red, covered in crimson ichor. While most people would be alarmed by this, she wasn't, giving him another stroke. "I know it's hot. We'll be back to camp soon," she said, actually speaking to the beast. She never knew if he understood her or not, but she liked to think that he did.

Turning to look at Riku, she gave him a small smile. "This is Guardian. You might want to be careful when you get on him. He's a bit warm," she said, lifting her red stained hand. It was clear that the horse was a special one. There was a group in Ounen who specially bred them, and some considered them horses of the heavens for their grace and speed. Naturally, she hadn't spent a dime on getting him, as she had pilfered him from some poor merchant. She might have felt bad about it, but given the man had him pulling a cart rather than being a mount, she thought she was giving the horse a better deal.

Sun Li stayed quiet until they were out of the city, and only raised an eyebrow at the strange horse. It wasn't his concern, however there was something that he now wanted to speak of. He glanced to Suzaku's Prince, before sighing a bit. "Now that we are away from prying ears, what is the crown prince doing here? You really should be behind your walls, being protected... it's dangerous out here."

He wasn't sure which was worse, that if the boy got hurt, more then likely he and Mika would be in some serious trouble, or that if the boy got hurt, it would weaken Konan, and take away the heir...

Mika had to admit, she wasn't expecting Sun Li to pick up on the fact that it was the Crown Prince at all. He didn't seem like the type to have ever left Choko. So, she was rather pleasantly surprised that he noticed that Riku was, indeed, their lord. She chuckled softly, shaking her head. "That's a good question. Well, your Highness? What brings you out here with all of us commonfolk?" At the mention of it being dangerous out here, the young woman couldn't contain another giggle. "The only dangerous group around here is the Mount Reikaku Bandits, and they won't lift a finger to hurt him." Being the second in command had it's perks.

She wasn't really worrying too much about what would happen if Riku got hurt, specifically because she wasn't planning on letting that happen. Afterall, with all of the healing salves from Xiao Xing's home, they would be full on pharmacutical goods for quite a long time. Besides, it's not as though the Royal Palace much liked her anyways. Oddly enough, as they walked, her mark flared to life, with a mild burning sensation. She hadn't used her powers, so she didn't know why it had ignited. "What the...?"

Riku frowned a bit at the other man, feeling stupid for letting it out that he was the Princ of Konan, but it couldn'tbe helped now. "Yes, I am the Prince, but you don't have to worry, nothing bad will happen. My father and advisors are well aware of my sojourns away from thepalace. I do it to become a better leader." He hoped that would be enough to settle Tamahome's concerns. He still had a lot to learn from that man, and Mika as well.

He frowned a bit and put his handto hs neck, feeling the hot symbol there like he had when he'd met Tamahome and Mika, but it was worse. He hadn't used any chi, or been fighting, so what was going on? He had a great need to go to the bandit camp now, the feeling was drawing him there. He got up on the strange horse with expert ease, and took the reigns. "We can discuss me later... right now... we need to go." It was surprising how the unsure young man could now have the confidence of a leader.

Sun Li nodded at the prince, it wasn't as if there was anything to question. If he said there would be no problem, then he'd take the man at his word. Tamahome was about to stay something back, when he felt the same burning sensation that the other two seemed to be experiencing. He knew immediately what it was about, he'd read accounts of it before.

His hand went to his hip, covering the red light that was filtering through his thin pants. "The priestess," he said without a doubt, he could feel her. Because of his Tai Chi training, he had a very good grasp on the powers he did have, and just on his own chi in general. He could sense her, up the mountain.

She was glad to know that the likelyhood of her getting in trouble for hanging around with the Prince was minimal. The last thing Mika wanted was to get sent to the gallows, though she probably had a enough marks to send her there multiple times had she bothered to check. "Makes sense to me. It's easier to rule people if you know about them." She and Miki used that logic quite a bit with the bandits at the camp.

The odd feeling was coming over her as well, her mark tingling. She closed her eyes, grasping onto Tamahome's sleeve before doing so. She had a tendency to lose her balance if she was "talking" while walking. After a few moments, she had discerned all she needed to know. "Miki's with her. He's taking her to camp. We'll take the side way. It's quicker." With that, she started to sprint up towards the camp. She wasn't taking the direct route, which was right off of the road. Instead, it took them through a wooded area. The path was a little trickier, but the horse could still make it through.
