Starts in the Newbie event thread page 256 and carries on throughout the thread, being kept track off here.
Iilvaenya: -Growls as she lays at the lake, her tail flicking in the water-
Varg: ~Awakens from a nap and stretches his tail flicking and his maw opening in a wide and loud "I'm awake be warned" Roar to anyone in the area whom didn't belong on this territory. He had patrols to do but couldn't help but notice an absence of Iilvaenya once again, it wasn't unlike her, she rarely was there when he woke up it seemed. Simple solution, he'd go to her, she had a few spots she liked to go to, he knew that and looking at the sun she's probably been there a little bit before he awoke. Easy enough to patrol to the first few places and check their land was safe~
Iilvaenya: -Hearing the sudden paw steps caused her to veer her head around, a slight glare when she spotted the dark male- Hello Varg. -She stated in a low voice.-
Varg: Good morning Iilvaenya. ~Grinning he stepped into the clearing completely and casually made his way to her, lowering his weight and taking a seat next to her, looking out over the water~
Iilvaenya: -She immediately turned her eyes away after he spoke, frowning as she began to quickly clean at her paws as if dirt were stuck in them- ....So... they're finally grown up...
"That they did" He smiled, proud. He had no resignations about this litter, each in their own way sparkled uniquely and re lit his passion to have family connections, especially with their mother. "Grown up, blossomed or rather bashed in Ranjit's case....and made their father proud." The smile quickly edged at the corner of his maw to a grin, mischievously he would have Iilvaenya, one way or another, whether he had to wait a life time again "We did good, you'know." His tone softened as his mind quickly withdrew from the thought he reoccurring found himself pondering over,
Iilvaenya: I suppose so.. -She answered carefully- Vaerika worries me a little... she reminds way too much of a certain female neither of us wish to mention. -Her eyes glanced off to Varg as she gave a low sigh, still trying to get over the depression she had been in as of late-
"Hmm... Well from what I understand she who should not be mentioned" Varg shot her a quick glance holding back a wink, it was amusing it still hurt, but he was more free to joke about Lore these days. "and yourself had a very forceful upbringing, we were strict but they where never forced against their will, in fact I'd even go so far as to say they had quite the enjoyable childhood, wouldn't you? She's nothing to seek Revenge against, and that from what I've experienced is, she who shall not be named, main goal in life." His eyes flicked away from Iilvaenya and back to the water, a calmness filling inside him. "Our Vaerika is just a strong and determined gi...female. Not unlike another female I happen to be sitting rather close to." Varg resisted the urge to turn and see if that got any reaction, he knew better, instead his gaze stayed and tracked the Ripples of the surface.
Iilvaenya: I guess I'm not as convinced as you are... I see hatred in that girl's eyes.. despite my best effort to not mimic my upbringing... I'm wondering if its my fault. -Frowning, her eyes turned away and she did give no emotion to his statement about her- I really don't feel determined anymore.. Perhaps all that I had left was given to our daughter.
Varg: ~Shakes his head~ She's nothing to hate against, we were and still are good parents, If she hates, it's no fault of ours. ~Taking a breath he flicked a pebble from his paw into the water, sending it rippling across the surface until it sank~ But If you've given all your determination away what will the next lot get? Oh wait... Beauty, intelligence, wit, stubbornness... ~Smirking again he chose not to turn and focus more on the point the pebble had sunk.~ I think you've still got plenty to give, don't you?
Iilvaenya: Like I said... I think you have more confidence about this whole matter than I. -Moving slightly she instantly stopped when she heard the last of his statements. Flicking her eyes in his direction she couldn't help but smirk just a little- Well, if they get all that from me what do they get from you? -She nudged him gently with her bulk-
Making sure to keep his gaze out at the water he feigned a thinking face, until she nudged him and he shot her a smirking glance, just enough to show a little tooth. "Well we'll start with that confidence you just mentioned." He turned his head away to look up to the sky pretending to think deeply about it though the smirk was still there. "Strength.." Flexes the muscle of arm he was using to prop his thinking face up with, stroking his chin. "Bravery!" Lets out a miniature roar then drifts his eyes back down to her "And I think I'll add in my determination, I think by now I've built up a good store of that" Finds himself struggling to hold back the wink, he sure had got that in bundles now and it was all his determination to win over Iilvaenya, to turn this from mutual agreement to a life long commitment. It felt more like the latter but he'd never heard her say it. "Have I missed anything that springs to mind?"
Shrugging, Iilvaenya's eyes shifted out among the water, her tail flicking slightly against the surface of the liquid. "Well, you certainly think you're all that, don't you?" She gave a slight grin as her eyes finally found his. "Should we add all the good looks in there too?" Raising her brow, she couldn't help but tease a little.
"Sure why not, didn't hurt on the last litter, but hey thinking about it... If they've already got your stunning beauty, do you think the Isle can handle my handsome charm too?" Smirking his eyes danced around her face, taking in just how beautiful she was, even with the armor on she was the model of a perfect lioness. Despite her depression he saw through it who she tried to hide a lot of the time, he didn't have her all sussed out, no way but he did know this depression wasn't her really. Iilvaenya was a strong lioness whom without this depression and the requirement of sperm would have no need for Varg, but he held comfort in the fact that she kept him around because of a likeness and not just the need. In fact he was sure of it now, since the cubs had grown and spent most of their time elsewhere. "Took a little help from a good lioness friend of mine but yea I'd say I'm back and I'm all that darlin'." He tried to pull a serious face, even going as far as flashing his fang and quickly flicking his brow provokingly, but it wasn't long before he failed to contain a little chuckle, she made him feel like a teen again sometimes, she really did.
Smirking, she quickly nudged him in the face gently with her paw, playfully. "Am I really suppose to believe all that?" She asked with a rather amused look on her face. Her head was now upright, her body in a sitting position as it looked like she finally had a little more life in her than usual.
After her playful nudge he was quick to raise his paw and gently rest it under her chin, abide slightly lifting in a gentle manner if she allowed it. "Yea you are, and you can accept it to Ms, strongbeautifullionessofmydreams, 'cause it's more fun that way see?" His smirk softened into a gentle smile, she had indeed been in his dreams many times over the past well... since she came to her that day with Nerys.
Iilvaenya quickly raised her eyes to meet his when he lifted her chin. For a few moments she thought about yelling at him, growling to let him know his place when it came to her, but after these thoughts lifted from her mind she was well unaware of the soft blush that was now painting her cheeks. A fact that she would never admit to, well.. at least not in this moment. "Fun?" She mocked, trying to ignore what he had said about her but the more she thought about it the more it showed on her cheeks. "Is this fun to you?"
"Mmmm..."He thought about pretending to think about it, to carry on their little game but in all honesty he didn't have to think about it very much, if at all and right now it was probably a damm good idea to show that fact. "Yes, I'd say it is, Being with you, keeping your company, having the cubs, watching and helping them grow up, and again, still being with you, I think that ones the most important, worth mentioning twice? Maybe because you are in my dreams and in my life, so yes I'm defiantly sticking to mentioning that one twice." The smile on his face didn't falter for a second, he kept constant reinforcing his words and showing no weakness or will to back down, his paw was still gentle in keeping their gaze, the eye contact making his eyes dance with hope, confidence and most importantly truth.
"You..." She began, her eyes slightly glaring in his direction but she couldn't bring herself to finish her statement. Musing, she quickly shifted her head as she was now unable to meet his eyes. "I should... I should whack some sense into you for even thinking such a thing.." Her voice wondered off as she neither looked at him nor walked away. Her mind was racing too much to know what to say to him.
"Maybe you could borrow some of my sense instead, then you could see I'm right... actually I think you know I'm right, and how much I do honestly and truly care for you" It was a bit of a risky move but he'd gotten to know her quite well and if she let her have enough time to think of something she'd find a way to turn it on him and make him look silly and her bigger and better even though at the end of the day he was pretty damm sure he was right. "We'd both been alone for a while, the company in each other we've held? I'd stake my life on it doing us both good, I know I feel vigorous, I'd even go as far as to say young again. How do you feel Iilvaenya?" It was an honest questions he was hoping to find an honest reply too, his paw dropped back to the lake side, as he sat beside her, his eyes looks towards her still.
"Right? Do you seriously think that after all this time you're right?" Her voice was shaky as she spoke. A big part of her wanted to scream at her for saying such a thing, for saying that to him but her pride wouldn't let her say any differently. She was trying her best to keep her defenses up high, but she was wondering if they were beginning to break, a terrifying feat that she never wanted to have happen. Hearing his last question struck fear in her, her eyes widened and she slunk a little lower to the ground, almost seeming catatonic for a few moments, "I... I don't know..." Her whisper came out slightly jumbled among the mess that was swirling around in her head. "...I... I... just... don't.. want... to be... alone.." It took all her will to let herself utter those words and as soon as they left it felt as though a knife had stabbed her.
Watching as she had her first little outburst he watched and waited carefully, and there it was, it wasn't an answer to the question he's spoken but it was an answer to a question in his head. Shifting his weight he moved closer and next to her, whispering gentle after a few moments "Then you'll never be alone." His whispered words where full of sincerity and warmth, yet strong enough in the hush to enforce a promise. Leaning just a little closer he barely touched her ear with his nose, fighting in himself not to do it... but he couldn't help but let his nose gently brush against the tips of fur on her ears. It could barely be considered contact but it felt like a major step in his mind's eye. From then his voice seemed to carry itself in the same manner as before "I will be here with you, for you, forever and a day, if you just said the word."
Her whole body loosened slightly when he said those words, if only for a moment, after hearing the last bit.. him wanting her to say it to him.. she frowned, her ears going a little flat against her skull as she fiddled with one of the feathers attached to her earring. "Varg..." She tried to muscle up the courage to look him straight in the eyes. "Frankly..." She swallowed slightly, "..I can't imagine my life anymore without you." There was a slight bit more confidence in her words now. "..Even now when the cubs have grown.. I can't bring it to myself to cast you away... because.. I don't want you to leave."
