This is a new game conceived by me and Chibi Pierceye. The rules are simple: When you post, you make a short story about the avi above your post. Follow the ToS (d'uh), but aside from that, have fun! And, just so we don't get one sentence stories, try to make them at least a paragraph, okay? But if you have more inspiration, go for it!

"Let's see how this baby weighs," Chibi Scaleclaw muttered under his breath, giving his long sword a swipe through the air. He watched the sunlight glint off the polished blade. Hearing a scream in the distance, he twisted his head toward the source of the noise.

"MY EYES!" a random person yelled.

Confused, Chibi Scaleclaw sheathed his sword among the many others strapped to his back and made his way over to the man screaming about his eyes. "What's the matter, sir?" he inquired politely, watching as the man writhed on the ground, covering his eyes with his arms.

"I'M BLIIIIIIIIND!" the man cried out, blinking as he tried to look up at Chibi Scaleclaw. His tear ducts let out a warm salty liquid when he tried to focus his eyes. The sunlight illuminated the fabulous purple armor that Chibi Scaleclaw happened to be sprorting, and the man let out another scream. He threw himself on the ground. "BLIIIIIIIIIIIIND!"

Chibi Scaleclaw merely cocked a brow, completely unsure of how to even approach the situation. Ultimately, he decided to leave the madman alone and continue on to the next town. However, when he again brandished his silvery weapon of awesomeness, once again in the distance someone yelled, "MY EYES!"

This time, he just ignored it.

"En garde!"

In a grand hallway, Chibi Pierceye fought off invisible pirates and ninjas alike with her trusty rapier. Stab and slash! Jump, up behind the suit of armor! Now, come out the other side and THRUST! Right into the heart of the pirate captain and straight through to the lung of the ninja jounin!

"Ha-ha! Victory is mine!" she yelled, her victory cry echoing in the empty hall.

Ahem...

Appearing behind her, a butler with a rather large nose grabbed hold of Chibi Pierceye's shoulder. "My lady, you are needed back at the costume ball. Your next dance partner is ready..."

"Awww, I don't want to!"

Chibi Scaleclaw, clad in his ninja gear, hoisted his ancient katana into the air. It was a beautiful sword, peerless in its beauty and grace, forged by the legendary swordsmith, Jackoblade. This blade had seen him through many battles.

As he examined the blade, he made a startling discovery. "What the-" Chibi Scaleclaw squinted, looking at the polished steel closely. "Is that... rust?"

Could it be? This sword, which had lasted throughout all of his battles, was starting to oxidize and decay? The sword, which had been a part of him, was dying? He looked down at his feet. "Are we... am I rusting as well?" he asked aloud, fearing the answer to his rhetorical question.

It could not be denied; he was feeling more tired, more sluggish lately. Chibi Scaleclaw simply had not been keeping up with things. Like the sword, rusting in its sheath, he was spending his time idly. Gripping the blade's hilt, he lashed out at the air angrily, as though to drive away untouchable forces with his intangible steel.

As he exhausted his passions, Chibi Scaleclaw looked down at the rust again, which was, unsurprisingly, still there. As we breathe, we are dying... the realization struck him suddenly, and caused his mortal self to inhale heavily. It is inevitable... the rust tells it all. But what was he to do?

Suddenly, he found his steely resolve beneath his rusty slothfulness. "I will fight," Chibi Scaleclaw declared, swinging the blade. "My rust will not come from idle air; I will be oxidized by the blood of the unjust, spilled upon my blade to protect the innocent." He looked down at his sword. "It's not my fate to lie in a corner and rust into degradation... I choose another destiny." Chibi Scaleclaw raised his ancient katana, and it gleamed brightly in the sun, despite its rusty scars. "I will be split in battle, dying a worthy death, guarding what is dear to me. This will be my path."

And with that, he left reinvigorated, determining to put his heart and soul into everything he did, and to do everything for his clan... and all of Gaia. User Image

He tipped his hat down enough to shadow his face and cover his eyes. The winds blew his long trench coat behind him, and sand blew up around him like smoke as he walked. Swordsman Chris made his way to the tavern on the other side of town, the dirt street was empty otherwise, that's when the first shot was fired. Coming down and hitting the dirt just in front of him, the bullet missed.

Swordsman Chris stepped back and looked up to a second story window where a man with a pistol was staring down at him as he aimed. Swordsman Chris whistled for his horse as he began to run. His horse flew from and alley and ran beside him as he jumped on to her back and they galloped down the road.

By this time bullets where flying everywhere and Swordsman Chris was lucky not to have suffered from a single shot as of yet. Close to the end of town Swordsman Chris felt something graze by the top of his shoulder. He quickly tore a piece of his or his jacket and tied it around the new wound while they ran.

Safe from the town he tossed the poster to the ground and looked to his horse "Looks like word has spread, we'll have to be more careful next time." the poster fell to the dusty ground:

"It's time," came Lilly Topaz's voice, barely above a whisper. She pulled her goggles down to her face, blinking before looking through the bright pink lenses. All she could see was dense forest. One could never be too careful, though; it was entirely possible for there to be something lurking within the foliage.

Thank goodness for her special goggles. X-ray vision and infrared really came in handy.

Something caught her eye--something small, off in the distance. Whatever it was, it was hiding behind a tree and she couldn't tell what it was. Curious, though, Lilly Topaz decided to investigate. She took careful steps toward the tree, elven dagger and shield at the ready in case of a possible attack. Her slow approach did not alert the creature, much to her advantage.

Then...out of nowhere, the creature leapt into the air...

...and landed on Lilly Topaz's head.

Blinking, she slid her goggles back up over her forehead. Whatever this thing was, it sure wasn't doing her any harm. It actually started chewing on her awesome scarf of awesomely awesome awesomeness, which did not please her. At all. She scooped the creature into her hand, and it looked up at her innocently, as if to say, "I wasn't just eating your scarf. Really."

What a cute Gramster it was.

Smiling, Lilly Topaz said, "I think I'll name you Frankie Lee McGrifflin."

The others were all out on another mission today. Chibi Pierceye found herself mostly alone in Fort Ratatosk, which was fine by her, as she wasn't particularly bothered with being on her own. She was in the library again, and whenever she was in the library, time just seemed to fly past her. In the back of her mind, though, Chibi Pierceye had a nagging sensation: guilt. With all of the others fighting the Animated, sometimes she felt a little useless, sitting here, always the one holding down the fort...

However, today would be the day that she would rediscover her importance.

The silence of solitude was broken by an explosion coming from the north end of the castle. Immediately setting down her tome, Chibi Pierceye nervously stood up and headed over to investigate, her ethereal robes shimmering with movement. Her garb, magical and reflective, seemed to synchronize with her feelings, and her head-wings flapped nervously as she approached the source of the noise.

Throwing open the door, Chibi Pierceye came face to face with the source of the noise: a giant machine had been hurling waves of projectiles at the fort, causing part of the wall to cave in. The cold, calculating siege weapon was fashioned like man, but it was composed completely of minerals and devoid of heat. With Chibi Pierceye now out in the open, the machine adjusted its sights, aiming its armored cannon in her direction. According to its calculations, this girl was of an average power level - the CL of her rings was quite low, indeed. Not enough to even register as a purple-level threat.

Chibi Pierceye took a moment to catch her breath, and her whole body shimmered with vibrations. At this point, the machine should have noted that there was something different about this being... but unfortunately for itself, the machine could not see beyond the material world and measured objects in the purely scientific sense. It could not have possibly predicted what was about to happen.

Overcoming her initial shock and fear, Chibi Pierceye closed her eyes. From seemingly out of nowhere, energy pulsed through her robes, collecting in her chest and later spreading out into her hands. All of a sudden, her readings on the machine's scanner changed from purple, to blue, to green, to yellow, to red, mayday, mayday! The change was unfathomable. How did this happen~!

It was too late. The machine could not understand, and had it survived the encounter, it never would understand. The energy collected in Chibi Pierceye's being released itself, blasting the machine and obliterating it with a pure beam of cosmic magic. There was a dynamic explosion as the energy consumed the machine, and within seconds it was reduced to nothing.

Tired from exhaustion, Chibi Pierceye collapsed, gasping for breath. She turned her head to the sky, watching the ashy remains of the machine lift upward into the sky. "Voici mon secret," she murmured, though her fallen, soulless opponent could not possibly hear her. "Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux..."

The machine's fatal error was that it only calculated the material and scientific matters in life. The true powers lay in the intangibles, the soul, the magic lying hidden in the world. "Here is my secret. It is very simple: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye..."User Image

SwordsmanChris swung and stabbed the dummy with the majestic blade. "What a fine blade this is," he said as he looked at the shredded remains of the training dummy. He returned to his manor to get dressed as he was having a ballroom party. He wore a fancy jacket and his ninja headband to show that he was once part of the mysterious Gaioh Ninja clan.

"This might come in handy," he said as he concealed his marvelous blade behind his jacket.

The guests have soon began to appeared, wearing expensive jewelry and fine clothing. However, SwordsmanChris was nowhere to be seen. It was the designated time they were suppose to be. they wondered where their host was.

"Sir, the guests are here," said one of the butlers. SwordsmanChris had realized he was late for his own ballroom party. He was unaware of it as he was gazing at the beautiful sunset.

Entering the ballroom, he realized that all eyes were gazing at him. He was quite embarrassed at being late for his own party. SwordsmanChris walked down the stairs awkwardly. As he made his way down, he heard a shattering sound. The guests all panicked as they realize that sound came from a crew of pirates.

"Give us your jewels or we shall take your life," they said.

SwordsmanChris pulled the hidden blade from his back. It gleamed in the light as it was shown. SwordsmanChris quickly ran through the crowed, ready to face the pirates. The pirates had stared at the blade. It was the blade that came from the heavens. They knew it was one of the most powerful weapons ever forged. At the sight of the blade, they quickly fled the manor, causing no harm however.

All eyes were on SwordsmanChris again, but this time, they were all amazed. SwordsmanChris hid the blade once more, carefully as to not injure anyone.

"Now that little mishap is over," he said, "Let's start this party."

From the deepest parts of the underworld emerge warriors of such ferocity that even mortals know of their profound power. These warriors are trained for hundreds of years, and have ninja like skills in combat, and miraculous powers in magic. It was of the highest privilege to be sent to the mortal world.

Metal Afterlife was one such warrior, and he had been granted the opportunity to be sent to the mortal world on a highly classified mission. His first steps on the cool grassy ground were wonderful, few underworld creatures ever experienced the wonders of the mortal world. The air heavy, cool, and moist as he walked through the swampy area searching for his target. An immortal's home in this swamp, it was well concealed in the abandon swamp and few mortals would have ever come across it. But this immortal had posed enough of a threat to have caused an underworld warrior to be sent to terminate them.

Metal Afterlife caught sight of the house and pulled out his sword taking a ninja star into his other hand as he slowly crept toward the house. Once he got close enough to see it he almost dropped his weapons. This was nothing more then a pixies home, was he sent to kill a pixie? They seemed like such harmless creatures. He could only tell it was a pixies home by the luring shine it gave off, form the dust pixies left behind. Incongruously the house was covered in dust as if on purpose. Pixies didn't normally try to lure people in, if anything they avoided it.

Once Metal Afterlife came to the door he stopped. Should I knock or something? H e smirked at the idea and opened it. Unlocked? He thought before he came into the house. The front room was warm and smelt of fresh baked pastries. Metal Afterlife opened the door to the left and once he stepped into the dark room the atmosphere changed. No it was dim all the light came from a pot in the middle with a purple liquid in it that glowed. It smelled horrid, and it was cold.

Metal Afterlife closed the door as he inspected the room, looking over dark magi books opened or bookmarked on certain pages. Strange ingredients in jars, some he was sure had moved. This was no ordinary pixie. Pixies rarely manipulate dark magic. He looked over a page of a book sitting open. What am I doing? I'm only supposed to kill it. He thought when his eyes hit a single sentence. What ever this spell did, it required mortal and immortal lives. Considering all the crosses that were putting over what had been collected this made Metal Afterlife shiver. All the pixie needed to complete the potion...Was the heart and mind of an underworld warrior.

Light suddenly spread over the room and Metal Afterlife turned around to the face or a pixie, one who looked quite pleased. "Here I thought I'd have to go to the underworld to get one, and one just shows up in my house." the pixie smiled, and them lunged. Hitting Metal Afterlife with a dagger right where his heart was.

Metal Afterlife stumbled back, the knife had hit his armor. He went into a fighting stance and waited for the pixie to lunge again before attacking. It didn't take much to eradicate the pixie.

Metal Afterlife left the house and went into the swamp going back to the portal he had risen from. It was to his dismay to go back to the underworld, there was still so much of the mortal world he had not seen. Even if what little he had seen made the mortal world not seem quite that great.

Her life changed after finding that scarf.

Lilly Topaz stood in the midst of a bloody conflict. Left and right, people were fighting, crying... dying. People were dying. And for what? For what reason was she here on this battlefield? Why, she thought, was I sent here to take life?

The battle doesn't need a purpose. The battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why you fight.

That voice... that voice that had been in her mind ever since she first wore the Sinister Scarf. It sounded as smooth as the silk the scarf was made of. It was never hasty, never pushy, but always very persuasive. Gripping the Elven Dagger in her right hand, she hefted her shield and charged into the fray. Oddly enough, she was fighting the same dark elves that had forged her weaponry. Nimbly ducking under a dark evf's spear, she charged forward and swung at the enemy with her shield. The protective plate of steel hit squarely in the dark elf's stomach, knocking the air out of him. Lilly Topaz then used this opening to charge forward and sink her dagger into the enemy's torso. Violet blood spilled forth as her opponent fell to the ground, unable to even scream in agony.

Looking up from her first kill of the day, Lilly saw that there was seemingly no end to the waves upon waves of dark elves.

There's always another war. There's always another battle. There's always another enemy. Now fight.

The grip on her dagger tightening, Lilly reluctantly listened to the scarf. She did not want to kill anymore, but if she were to live long enough to find a way to remove the scarf, she'd have to survive this day. Without a word, she ran off, running to meet the charging dark elves and jump into the fray...

He could feel the energy of his blade, and channeled his own dark aura into it. He could sense it's strength increase and he allowed himself to be engulfed in that sense. It filled him with pleasure to imagine his victim suffering from the blades hit. A mere mortal would die so easily at it's hands, and even a demon such as himself, would never be able to overwhelm him.
Chibi Scaleclaw gave a wicked unseen smiled, only noticed by the small shift of the mask. He pushed the trench coat behind him and lunged. Without a second thought he plunged the sword at the angels thigh, with a direct hit. The angel hadn't the time to ready his bow and was caught off guard, now the angel was merely acting on impulse. Lunging at Chibi Scaleclaw with the point of the arrow. Chibi Scaleclaw could not block the blow completely, and the top of the arrow sunk into his shoulder before the shaft broke in half. And Chibi Scaleclaw took the second while the angel was in brief panic to plunge his dagger into the angels heart.
Falling to his knees the angel looked at him with utter disdain. Chibi Scaleclaw gave a gaze of loathing as well, but victory hinted under his eyes though he dare not celebrated. The death of angel did not go unnoticed to the others. No doubt he'd be fighting more sooner then he would like.

"Save the Gramster... Save the world."Longcat whispered into Lily's ears.

Lily had to be honest; things were getting weird ever since she first bought that Longcat Scarf. First off, it kept crawling off her neck and walking around. Now it kept sending her on "quests to save the world". She had gotten her old Elven Dagger because it "was really an ancient artifact that Lanzer had used to banish Xenu to the Fifth Dimension" and then it had gotten her this purple cape and insisted that she run around making "Whoosh" noises. Longcat said it was to "keep her theton levels down".

Sighing as she set the Gramster securely on her head, Lily heard her next quest; she was to get an afro, a pair of sunglasses, put them on, go to a pool entrance and prevent anyone from getting in by saying "Pool's closed".
