Depending on who you believe anything that has ever been, is, or will be exists on the astral plane.

From my own experience it depends on where in the astral plane you are. The astral is a lot like our own world but we aren't chained by the normal laws of physics. I have a few friends who believe and I've been contemplating that perhaps the laws of physics may be a form of magic, but we don't have any real way to testing it. On the astral you can do pretty much anything you want to, including venture into space. As for what lives there, in my experience I've found almost all 'mythological' creatures and departed souls live there, the souls are usually waiting to be reborn into a new body or are helping with the various tasks that go on over there that I currently haven't a clue what they are.

These are simply my beliefs and experiences, not hard fact. As we know hard fact is sometimes hard to come by in our community sweatdrop

Entities made out of energy live there, they aren't made of flesh and bone like on the physical realm. So in a way you could sorta consider the astral plane a spirit realm, just without the spirits of the dead there. (as they've hopefully moved on) So basically it's another dimension with rules similiar, yet completely different from ours. If you were to look at yourself while visiting the astral planes, you would see yourself as a being of energy. Some people take on humanoid forms in the astral plane, others might take on a completely different form that suits them better in such a place. Not all who are in the astral planes are visitors, so very many beings you might encounter there have existed there since there creation. If you ever feel a bit drained of energy, check in the aastral plances, and you might just find a darker enity feedin off your energy, sheild yourself immediatly in that case...! eek
