After spending two and a half years working in one of the world's most famous coffee shops, I have a bit of a story to tell. It's one of myth, deception, and horrible, nasty truth. And 95% or so is NOT made up. I promise.
What am I talking about, you say? I work at Tim Hortons. And I've got some things to clear up. NOW. Everyone thinks of this place as a friendly, polite, and laid back 'fast-food' resturaunt to visit. Well, not so. Behind the counter, strange things happen, and things are NOT what they seem...
Coming soon, an inside look into the place I call
"The Little Donut shop of HORRORS"
Coming soon to my 'timbits' page, and the home page forum!
EXCITED YET?

Indeed! Do tell! twisted
Although, I must admit, I work at an independent cafe and thus, I am slightly biased against "Timmy Hoes" just a little...
(Although some of the s**t at our cafe, maybe I shouldn't talk.)

Its a wonder... that three of us work at cafes. You think they attract writers or something. 3nodding
An old teacher of mine is starting a book club at my lil cafe. So now... I get to go to a book club... and serve drinks! Oh joy.
I am excited to hear. I love cafe horror stories.

That sounds exciting and I'd love to read it. I live in the middle of nowhere, though, and have never heard of that before. gonk

Neither have I, to be honest.
I tend to avoid coffee/donut chains.

Nope. Small-town mentality aside, I've been all over--Vegas, Chicago, New York, Orlando, Houston, blah blah--and I haven't seen one in those places either, though probably I just didn't know where to look. I love coffee, don't get me wrong, but nothing good lives in my corner of the world. Except Kirby and my cat. gonk Oh yeah, and my boyfriend, I guess, the lazy b*****d. xp

Well, its fair that you don't know what they are if you live stateside. Its a solely Canadian chain (except now they're extending to NYC soon)
Speaking of cafe horror stories... twisted
I got stuck with a f#ck'd up 11-2 shift today (cause the girl who was supposed to cover my shift bailed, so this was a quick fix as I had to be out of there early to get to my show)
In that three hour period, we noticed that the main cooler (our sandwich board) was warm and silent (again) thinking "aw hell the damn thing's broke again" we pulled it out to look behind, where I discovered that the outlet feeding it had, in fact, MELTED. I nudged the cord, (which was partially fused to the socket) something reconnected and the cooler came back on. That was when I noticed something metal in the outlet glowing I hit the fuse immediately after that (Although, considering the fuse hadn't blown to begin with suggests that something is VERY wrong). So I spent most of my three hours there playing electrician and replacing the plug and outlet. 'Course we still don't know what caused it, so turning it back on was out of the question, without an actual electrician to check things out.
Fun huh?? xd
Also, Tak, I think cafe's must - they do tend to have either a rep, or an atmosphere of relative quiet companionship, and tend to be a lovely place to sit and think or write, so why not work in one? Its like a bar for intellectuals. (I wanna learn bartending...I know a WONDERFUL gin and tonic recipe, and would like to expand my repertoire to alcohol as well as coffee)

Maybe slightly? and by that I mean yes. If it had been left, it could've burnt the place down. It wasn't a danger to me though - the power was off the whole time I was working on it.

Tim Horton's has invaded the North/Northeast United States.
They are every where in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
